What a disappointment this book was!
It started fun & naughty. A new role as boss-employee, but in the opposite side.
Spoiler Alert, Be Aware:
Isabelle and Grant work together, and they had a one night fling, half drunk, half not. Now Grant it's avoiding Isabelle, because she's the boss's daughters.
With this twist, Isabelle just can't bring herself to accept Grant's attitude, so she decides about going Mistress on him, setting him up and leaving him frustrated so he'll want her back.
So far, so good. It was entertaining enough to see Grant surrendering to her will.
Then, at the end when I thought the book couldn't be damaged... It does.

Isabelle has a Master.
Not that I'm against switch characters. But why??
This just killed the book for me, and its sequel.
I wonder when some writers will stop to think and say. Hey, this is a femdom book. So I just should leave any maledom/master out of it!
That would be really helpful.
In overall, the book isn't great, neither horrible. The sex is okay, and hot in some parts. So if you don't mind being set up in the last pages, you can read it.

This was different from the other books I have read by Langlais, but just as entertaining!
What do you do when the boss' daughter answers our phones during the day and dominates your ever move at night? You do exactly as she commands! It was fun and sexy and let us not forget dirty...definitely brought more smut with this book. And it was great! I am gonna have get on line and get the next book, because the ending was the most unexpected and intriguing part. gotta known what happens next!

This is a really short little story, more porn than plot, but that's ok. I don't read many where the females are this dominant and this bdsm-y, so that was refreshing. It's also got a little twist in the epilogue that I did not see coming.

This pains me to write because I am a huge Eve Langlais fan. This novella was different than anything I've read from her, and it was a bit of a let down for me.
Isabelle is Grants secretary but she's also the bosses daughter, and everyone knows the number one rule is "don't sleep with the boss's daughter." So when Grant breaks that rule, he thinks he can make it okay by simply pretending it never happened. Unfortunately he didn't realize that Isabelle is the type of woman to stand for that. Tired of being ignored, Isabelle takes matters into her own hands and shows Grant who's really the boss, in more ways than one.
I've read lots of Eve Langlais books and have loved them all, so I had high expectations when I came across this novella on Amazon. Sadly I was disappointed. I will say that like everything Eve writes, this was very well written. I just didn't care for the characters or the subject matter. This is entirely my personal preference, but I can't/won't read BDSM books with a dominant male/submissive female. Of course those are wildly popular right now, so it was rather a breath of fresh air to come across a romance with a dominant female/submissive male. One thing I've always liked about Eve Langlais is that she always writes strong female leads, even when they are paired with alpha males. I read a lot of erotic romance, but I absolutely have to have romance not just sex, and I really feel like this book was missing out on that in a big way.
Basically the book was just okay for me, until the very end and then it was kind of ruined for me.

Lame is all I can say. Oh it started off really well and I truly hoped for a nice story but it just did not have it.

Okay, lets forget that for a moment. Lets move onto the fact that these two have a one-night stand, after which Grant starts ignoring Isabella. Now Isabella is miffed and decides to torment Grant and goes all dominatrix on him!! I mean seriously??
Fine, lets accept that as well and move on. Now she starts tormenting him and decides to make him her submissive, all fine and dandy. However, when she finally gets him to become her sub, she suddenly gets a Master!! :O :O And that's the twist, more to be revealed in the sequel!!! Sheesh, I read this one as it was short - NO WAY AM I READING THE SEQUEL!!! Sorry!!
I can understand and even accept the femdom factor.. Also I can appreciate the sex, which incidentally was not really inspiring but honestly mundane :P :P.. but why did the author have to ruin it by adding a male dom??!! Couldn't she simply have left it at that? Sigh but that truly ruined the book for me!!
Highly forgettable! Definitely not recommended.

I'm a big Eve Langlais fan, but this one didn't have her usual sassy edge to it. I did like how Isabelle pushed Grant into noticing her (because women who can rock curves like Isabelle shouldn't be ashamed to go pantyless in the office and accidentally drop things and have to bend down to pick them up. AMIRITE?!?!?), but I was a little taken aback by the bombshell of Isabelle's ultimate goal

I think this is a ' its me its not you' kinda book. I went into it not reading any reviews or spoilers which makes me wish that i did. It started kinda oke. They had a drunken ons and he didnt want to keep seeing her cause she is the bosses daughter, considering the story i feel like he had a valid point. She was his secretary but also the bosses daughter that used ' daddy' when addressing him. I feel like even though she was just the secretary she was in actuality the boss in their relationship.
Anyway, he avoids her and she does something that for some could be seen as funny and teasing or for others as just criminal. I dont know but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth cause if a man does that to a woman he would end up in jail. And the sex was just... sex... i did not feel the passion. It was just two people doing kinky sex, it didnt even feel like they knew each other or anything. Just 2 strangers that happen to work together doing kinky stuff. And then u get to the epilogue and realise that she has a master herself so wether the H wants to or not his mistress has a master and hes the sub in this scenario. Again, if this was a woman that started a relationship with a man to then find out that there is another woman in the mix and shes the second one to join the party and its not really a choice anymore but what its going to be it would soo not be okay. So yeah.... this was not a book for me. Boring and soo many grey moral areas and grey consent that it made me feel iffy.

Quick dirty read.

A bit fun to read but no substance. It is erotic reading and sometimes that is all we want. My curiosity requires I read the next of this series. I will continue the series, but I am not expecting any great plot or character depth. Nonetheless, it tickled my imagination.

Eh. A very short F/m tale. Can't say the premise was too charming (heroine is annoyed that hero is avoiding her after a 1-niter, so she… drugs his food, ties him up, and tops the hell out of him— to his delight). But w'evz, it's short-form kinkyrotica; as per usual, much of the book is a bit iffy by IRL standards. Shrug. He's down, so I'll allow it.
Characters are alright. Hero is fine, heroine is tolerable but slightly unlikable: in addition to the above, she uses another guy to make hero jealous at one point (classy!), and just seems kind of mustache-twirly and overgleeful in general. (As in life, the mwahaha-I'm-so-eeevil!! types simultaneously bore and exasperate me.) Okay sex scenes.
The ending is terrible. The main plot ends ridiculously abruptly, and then we get an epilogue that only seems to exist to set the world back on its proper axis by— spoiler alert, I'm sure— turning the heroine into a sub/switch/whatever, entirely out of nowhere. Thank Pasta for that, because if we'd left her just a straight up fdom, we'd all be spinning into the sun right now. Crisis averted, y'all: Master Andrew (um, who?) has arrived.

Whatever. The whole thing's pretty perfunctory and the language could be prettier. Basically, it's porn and it feels like it: short, fast, and forgettable, and now that it's over I don't feel all that great about having read it…? But I've seen worse. At only 60-ish pages I wasn't expecting much. And that's about what I got.

"My Secretary, My Mistress" is a BDSM book about a man being trained to become a submissive by his secretary. Bondage, oral sex, anal play and several other activities happen. The man does not know he is being trained, no safe words are discussed, there is no pre-discussion of scenes, and no aftercare occurs. Several times the man protests and action or declares he feels uncomfortable and the dominant stops for a second, threatens her displeasure, and immediately picks up where she left off. From online research through both dominant and submissive blogs, the first part (pre-discussion, safe words, and aftercare) are personal decisions by the participants - the NOT stopping when one partner says enough is not.
While as well-written as most of Ms. Langlais books, I am giving the story one star for the first Dominant-submissive (D-s) scene. The dominant drugs then duct tapes the submissive to a chair, does her scene, then leaves him duct taped up in a office on Friday night where someone may or may not come by until Monday morning. No water or food was left, and the man still needs to recover from the drugging. This dangerous behavior of abandonment would not be condoned by the BDSM world, and any submissive who is subject to it should run to the cops - male or female. This is ABUSE, not play.
I understand this is a fantasy, as much as a normal romance where the partners fall in love at first sight and live happily ever after, and as I do not participate in the BDSM or D-s world I may have some misunderstanding of what is acceptable behavior. Even so, I am going to make the story with one star because of the life-threatening abandonment of a submissive by a dominant.

I'll be completely honest, this wasn’t my favorite book by Langlais. It started off pretty decent. After too many drinks one night, a man sleeps with his secretary. Not an original plot I’ll admit, but it is often followed by a pretty hot story. Unfortunately, for me this one was a bit of a hit and miss.
Regretting his actions, he decides to avoid her and pretend that nothing happened that night. however she has other ideas. as I said, I enjoy the beginning. a secretary who is the determined not to accept the brush off from her boss after a hot night of sex and sets about changing his mind. Here is where Langlais lost me. I enjoyed her idea of payback. Tie him up and make him acknowledge what happened instead of avoiding you and ducking out of work early after leaving like a thief in the night. However, I thought it irresponsible to leave him bound to a chair, pants down by his ankles and just walk away, leaving him like that with no way of releasing himself. I know this is fantasy and I would hope that in real life no one would be this irresponsible, but this isn't the only time she shows disregard to his well being. She has the tools at her disposal to be a Domme, however she seems to be missing a The Key ingredient… aftercare. Apparently she does not know what it is.

There are a few editing issues, but nothing too big.
Who Isabelle is, was a little oddly thrown in, almost felt too late, but it did hold a little 'oh gosh' moment, which didn't matter, so still pretty pointless either way. But she's a rich girl who throws a tantrum when she doesn't get what she wants. Like her initial method to restrain Grant is so not okay, but funny and kinda sexy. Yet that alone made Grant came forth a little thick, which killed my liking to him very early in. But he is still just an alpha male in public and a panty sniffing - *tosses cookies* - sub in private.
The steamy stuff is hot...like do my sideways until Sunday hot.
My initial feel was that it is refreshing to have a Mistress instead of Master and this captured it all in a light-hearted way that worked.
But...
*slams head against table to emphasise frustration*
The ending is exciting, but it caught me off guard in a way that isn't good. What Isabelle expected from Grant, felt more like the author went, 'I'm done with this, let's do something so I can add more later.' This pisses me off only because Isabelle's initial hurt when Grant ignored her just seems like it doesn't work and seriously? Don't try selling me something that is BS. And that ending was an afterthought to add more later and it sucked.

One thing you can guarantee with any Eve Langlais book is an amazingly unforgettable lead female. Isabelle is just that. I have to admit at the very beginning of the second chapter I really liked where Eve and Isabelle were taking this book.
Isabelle has a very unforgettable plan. It’s a bit of ‘get my man’ plan combined with a small dab of revenge. I just have to say that Grant is oh so deserving of her wrath. I loved this tale of an office assistant that turns the tables on her hunky boss. After a very hot night spent with her boss, Isabelle finds herself ignored and refuses to let him get away with this strange rejection. With a well thought out plan Isabelle plots to seduce Grant to the point he is unable to think of anything but her.
Her methods are nothing that we or Grant expect. I loved the way her plan unfolded and was surprised as well as entertained by the whole seduction. I may have even learned a few things. There were several fun twists, turns and surprises and loved, loved how the story ended.
This was a fun, sensuous hot, story that has us rooting for our creative, take no prisoners heroine.
Definitely recommend this novella for any who love Eve's books and and want to go on an awesome ride.

So I completely didn't expect this. I buy lots of books and then when I'm done with a book and looking for my next read, think hey... here's this book, let's read it! So I tend to forget what grabbed me, lol. Anyhoo... It's not often I read about femdoms. This one was good, lol. She got her man so completely wrapped up in her! And then, the little twist at the end? I have to wonder if there's already another one or if there will be another one with our little Domme's master and her and her plaything. This was super short (one of three I read in one night), but still very interesting.

I didn't really know what to expect as this was my fist Mistress, female Dom book.
I like the BDSM aspects, however I really didn't feel the connection to the characters, Isabelle and Grant that I think I needed. I got lots of emotion from both of them, but I don't relate.
Saying all that, I have to read the next one to see what happens :)

Woah! Holy hell this is a hot one! ^_^
I found this book a little hard to get into at first. It seemed like it was all over the place, and took a bit to get into the flow. Once it gets into the flow, and if you ignore some minor grammer errors, this is one hot short read.
The scenes in this book were scorching! Like panty wetting hot! ;)
although this isn't one of my favourite books by Eve Langlais, it's a quick hot read, worth reading if you've got a little spare time or want a 'quickie' read ;)

Still working on trying to read every book that Eve has come out with…. So far so good but it is taking a while. If you have the patience to search out all the books and then read them it will be worth your while. This was different from the other books I have read by Langlais, but just as entertaining! One thing you can guarantee with any Eve Langlais book is an amazingly unforgettable lead female.

Say whaaaaaaa? LOL! This novel was seriously awesome. I don't read too many female Domme novels but this one takes the cake. I loved reading about her pushing him further to be a good little sub. It was totally worth the read.

This was a cute short story. It was not what I expected, but it was way better than I could of hoped for. The ending threw me for a loop! Isabelle is not the push over and won't let Grant get away with how he treated her. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in this series!

Well written, well edited, well told story. It appealed to me on many levels, even though the epilogue appeared to contradict the heroine's actions.
