Welcome to The Diamond Back where the cowboys are hot, the drama is real, and city girls like Lottie Wright are in way over their heads.

Lottie has spent her whole life chasing success – or at least what it’s supposed to look like. The perfect corporate job. The perfect banker boyfriend. The perfect life in London. But when she’s suddenly fired and catches her boyfriend cheating, she does what any totally rational person would do . . . and gets on a plane to her family’s ranch in Wyoming.

Cole Miller is a rugged ex-rodeo star and absolutely not interested in a city girl playing cowgirl on the Diamond Back ranch – even if they did end up in a steamy tangle on her arrival in Jackson Hole. But as Lottie trades designer suits for cowboy boots, she starts to realise she might be a little more country than she thought. And when a rival ranch threatens everything, she’s not about to let them win, especially when it means proving to Cole – and herself – that she’s got what it takes to earn her place.

A slow-burn, high-heat cowboy romance with banter, tension, and a love as wild as the Rockies.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice, easy read. I do love a cowboy romance and this was giving Chestnut Springs vibes. It was fast paced and I wish it had been longer. After reading this book I want to hop on a plane to cowboy country. I loved all of the characters and I cannot wait for the next instalment.

Thank you to Netgalley for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

Small town
Cowboy
Slow burn

Lottie finds herself fired from her job in London and to top it off, then catches her boyfriend cheating. The only thing she can do is catch a flight to her cousins ranch in Wyoming to get away from it all.

The cover and sprayed edges of this book are so pretty, it’s what drew me in and made me want to read it, and the fact it’s a cowboy book of course.

I didn’t enjoy the start of the book being set in London, I just wanted Lottie to hurry up and get to the ranch already, for such a short book it felt like a very slow start. I was hoping once she arrived at the ranch I’d enjoy it more. Unfortunately I didn’t. I wanted to really love this book but I struggled to want to pick it up and read, it just didn’t hold my attention. When I was reading, sometimes I found my mind wandering off elsewhere because I was bored then I had to go back and reread because I had no idea what was going on, oops. There were a few parts that I did enjoy, but not much. I couldn’t connect to any of the characters either as much as I tried. It seemed like every time Lottie and Cole tried to get ‘close’ someone would turn up or something would happen and get in the way and it got super annoying.

I really didn’t want to dnf this one so I plodded on until the end but it was painfully slow. I felt like it was lacking something for me personally. I don’t think the writing style or plot was for me unfortunately and I don’t think I’ll be reading the rest of the series. It’s no chestnut springs but if you’re a cowboy fan I’d recommend a read though, it may be for you.

I wish we would have got Cole’s pov throughout the whole book rather than as a bonus chapter right at the end. I didn’t really see the point and I think I would have enjoyed it more.

Thank you to NetGalley, Gemma Morr and the publishers for this ARC!

This was a cosy cowboy romance, following our FMC, Lottie, a London native who is made redundant from her not to great job, and shortly after finds out her current partner is cheating on her (boo Kyle!). This leads her to leave the UK to visit her family ranch, Diamond Back Ranch, in the wonderful Wyoming. Here we meet Lil, Lottie’s cousin who now runs the ranch, alongside her ranch hands; and our MMC, Cole the cowboy 🤠.

I do feel like the odd character sometimes came across as two dimensional, especially our MMC Cole, but I think this might have been as the majority of the book was written in Lottie’s POV, and we then got a Cole POV bonus chapter which I did feel felt a bit thrown in there at the end.

I think there could have been a bit more time to help build depth not only to our main characters and supporting characters, but also the rival ranch storyline. It felt a little rushed at times, and not a lot of tension happening to make me feel like there was actual tension between the ranches.

I enjoyed the setting of this book and I especially enjoyed that this book actually started off in a completely different country to where the main plot happens, which I felt helped open the story up more.

This was an easy and very fast read for me, it was a short read but still enjoyable. If you’re hoping for cosy cowboy vibes with low stakes, look no further 🙂‍↕️

Untamed Heart follows Lottie, who is made redundant and cheated on within in the space of a few days, so escapes to Diamond Back Ranch in Wyoming where she used to holiday as a child to visit her cousin. While she’s there she reconnects with with her family, learns to find her purpose away from her corporate job and of course falls for a hot cowboy.

The setting, characters and found family here were all wonderful. The ranch and all of the rodeo, camping, swimming and riding moments gave the story a very cosy and relaxing summery vibe. I really liked both Lottie and Cole and I’d love to see more from Lil, Jesse, Hestia and Bailey so hopefully there are more books planned in this universe.

Something I rarely say about a book but that definitely applies here is that I wanted it to be longer. I think all the relationships and plot lines, especially the conflict with a neighbouring ranch, just needed more time to develop. I would have appreciated more time spent building tension and setting up the emotional connection between Lottie and Cole. With the story being fully in Lottie’s POV until the bonus chapter I didn’t feel like I was able to get to know Cole as well as I would have liked to in the time we had.

Still, I really enjoyed Untamed Heart and would read from this author again. I’d love to see this book become a series and to see more of Diamond Back Ranch in the future!

Thank you to Pan Macmillan for the e-ARC of Untamed Heart in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

This was a sweet cowboy romance following Lottie, a city girl who returns to her family’s Wyoming ranch after life in London takes a turn, losing her job and finding out her boyfriend has been unfaithful. It was an easy, light-hearted read with a charming setting and a classic small-town feel. The romance had some lovely moments, and the slower pace suited the story’s cosy, comforting vibe. I enjoyed the themes of second chances, reconnecting with your roots, and finding unexpected love in familiar places. Overall, it was a good read with a heartwarming story and an enjoyable sense of escape.

Thank you NetGalley, Pan MacMillan and Gemma Morr for the ARC of Untamed Heart in a form of an e-book.
If you enjoyed Lyla Sage & Elsie Silver books, then this book is certainly for you! 🤠

I read this book in less than 48 hours and my only wish was for it to be a bit longer! It’s an easy read that will help you relax and forget about the world around you.
What’s different in Untamed Heart, compared to other cowboy romance books I read, is only one POV. We follow our FMC Lottie, who needs a break from London and escapes to her family’s ranch in Wyoming.

I enjoyed the writing style and I was immersed in the story from the 1st chapter. There is a good level of spice but nothing too overwhelming. The main gang that we meet is absolutely loveable and I hope we get to read their stories too 🤞🏼

It’s a must read for all cowboy romance lovers out there!

3.5⭐️ We all love a cowboy romance don’t we? I really loved Lottie and how she handled all the things that were thrown at her. I also really liked Cole and his longing was excellent.

I would’ve loved to seen more of lottie and liv together to see how they interacted, i also felt like the conflict was resolved quite quickly and would’ve wanted to see more of that!

Nice easy cowboy romance, loved Cole! Very predictable but it was nice and short under 250 pages which was a nice change. I liked how it wasn’t too dragged out but I was a lil bit bored.

Read the book not the audio and had to skip the last 100 pages🥱😴This book should be serving 25 years in prison with no parole for being criminally fucking boring.

Don’t waste your time on this one. Read or reread one of Silver’s latest offerings instead.

Surprisingly, I was enjoying more when she was in London than in the ranch. I didn't feel any chemistry between the main characters. Overall, I thought this book was boring.

DNF @ 21%

I’m struggling so hard to connect with literally anything

- review -
Unfortunately for me, this was a DNF around the 21% mark which sucks because the cover is a real eye catcher.

I felt like the jump between UK to US was sudden and found in the parts I did read, a lot of terminology was US based despite the main character being in the UK at that point. It was hard to overlook and immediately I found myself less interested to pick the book back up and carry on.

While I read a lot of unrealistic romance fiction, the plot line did feel a tad far fetched (literally changing tracks on a train and getting on a plane seconds later) and I didn't feel a connection through the pages between Lottie and her family ranch in Wyoming...which from context given, sounded like she didn't spend much time there. just loved the idea of the place?

Thank you Gemma, Pan Macmillan & NetGalley for my E-ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.

Many thanks to PanMacmillan for sending me a copy of the book.

“Untamed heart” is about Lottie who has a bad time lately in London. She was fired and her boyfriend cheated on her. So she leaves London for the Diamond Back Ranch in Wyoming. There, she meets Cole, a hot cowboy, and so her new life starts.

I have to say, this was stupidly hilarious. Of course, I can’t say it’s the most beautiful book I’ve ever read, or the best romance. But what i must say is that it was hilarious in the best way. I giggled for almost the whole book and I had a fun time! Which is an important thing when reading a book. We don’t have miscommunication, but we have some grumpy x sunshine vibes, some “touch her and you die” vibes, some “I’m jealous of everyone who saw her” and so on, so it’s a very entertaining book.
The romance did feel rushed, there’s a tiny bit of insta-love and the author doesn’t give a lot of attention to the other characters, but that didn’t mind me so bad. We have banter and steamy scenes. I wanted more tension, but I can’t say that I am annoyed by how the book ended.
Of course, we had some third act drama thing, which was amusing, and there’s a second problem that Lottie must fix besides her life problems, so it was interesting to see how she handled that. You go girl, i was rooting for Lottie for the whole book.

All in all, it was a cute and funny and a very quick book. It’s great if you don’t want a lot of things, just something easy to pass time or if you’re bored. Again, don’t expect the best love story ever. But you should expect laughter.

The perfect cosy cowboy romance read you can finish in one sitting.

Lottie's life is crumbling in front of her. She has always worked incredibly hard whether it be in her career or personal life but both seem to be falling apart. In the space of twenty four hours Lottie finds herself without a job after being suddenly fired and then finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her catching him on the same day. With everything hitting her at once, Lottie embarks on a journey to find peace and some time away from her crumbling world, heading home to her family's ranch in Wyoming.
Upon her travels and time on a ranch, Lottie meets Cole Miller, a rugged ex-rodeo star and our go to grumpy cowboy who doesn't have the time or energy for the new city girl in town. However, the more Lottie finds herself trading in designer high heels for cowboy boots and ranch life these two characters begin to grow even closer realising they may have a special bond, things in common and Lottie begins to wonder if ranch life may be the happiest she has been.

This was a cute easy read I finished in no time! The characters were cute and likeable and the story was paced well. One thing that stood out to me in this book however, even more than the romance was the friendships. The side character's were all so likeable and I loved how close Lottie was to everyone and the female friendships in particular were so beautiful and fun to read and really separated this book from a lot of other cowboy romance reads. Another thing I of course took a liking to was the fact that Lottie was from London and when I listen to some of this book as an audiobook I really appreciated the differing accents. It was refreshing to see a cowboy romance book start off in London and gave this book a different vibe.

If you're a fan of Alive and Wells then I would for sure recommend this book, I found a few similarities and they book were quick and easy reads.

Welcome to The Diamond Back Ranch: where the cowboys are hot, the drama is real, and city girls like Lottie Wright are in way over their heads.

Lottie has the week from hell when she is made redundant from her job and then finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her. On a complete whim she decided to escape from London and jumps on a plane to go and visit her cousin who runs a ranch in Wyoming. As well as helping out on the ranch, Lottie did not expect to fall for Cole but as soon as they need the spark begin to fly.

I was totally in the mood for a low stakes, low drama cowboy romance and this fit the bill nicely. Gemma’s writing is beautiful and easy to read and I was swept away into ranch life, can I come and visit Diamond Back Ranch please? The chemistry between Lottie and Cole is instant and the burn is super slow which just adds to the tension. They are really good at communicating too so no miscommunication here 🙌 it also isn’t a super spice read, 2 open door scenes that are very tame so anyone who isn’t a fan of spice but wants a cowboy fix then this one is for you.

All in all a lovely, sweet cowboy romance that makes me want to pack up and move to Wyoming.

This was a nice quick easy cowboy read. Lottie is a down on her luck city girl in London who just lost her job and found her boyfriend cheating on her. Not knowing what else to do she impulsively decides to fly to America where she spent her best summers on a ranch living wild and free. We see Lottie try to find herself, find love, and put away her past.
Overall I enjoyed the setup of the story and the characters. Lottie is just doing her best trying to find where she fits, even when it's such an easy answer. Love Cole and his straightforward cowboy-ness. Their love story is so sweet. The other characters on the ranch are awesome as well. The drama at the end was tantalizing. I would've liked to see the follow-up with Lottie's parents. It was a sweet ending though.

3.75 ⭐️ Thank you so much to Gemma Morr for the ARC! I really enjoyed this book from the start!

I loved the time we had at the beginning to get to know Lottie and empathise with her situation. Even by page 20 I was rooting for her to escape and find a cowboy 🤭

All of the characters were great and served a purpose - I look forward to hopefully exploring some more of their stories in book 2!

A couple of small reasons for the drop in stars, both just personal preferences:
1. Personally I don’t always like the ‘misunderstanding’ trope as it makes me a little frustrated but others may not have an issue
2. The spice scenes could have been a few pages longer 🤭🤭

All in all, lovely for a shorter read and a great plot! So glad I got to read this ARC!
