I read and loved Dr. Carson's book, so I was curious as to how effective this brief summary would be. I discovered that the summary is quite effective in giving a broad overview of the material in the book—a summary, just as it says it is. I encourage readers to choose the original, both to get more detail and to enjoy the author's individual voice. However, if someone chooses to read summaries instead of full-length books because of time constraints, this is a good summary to read. The only quibble I have with it is that each chapter was summarized in narrative, then the key points were listed in bullet points. I found the bullet points repetitive, as the information had already been spelled out in the narrative.
The publisher provided a free copy of this book and a promise of a full-length book in exchange for an honest review.
