One Nation by Ben Carson M.D and Candy Carson - A 30-minute Summary Inside this Instaread Summary: Overview of the entire bookIntroduction to the Important people in the bookSummary and analysis of all the chapters in the bookKey Takeaways of the bookA Reader's Perspective Preview of this summary: Chapter 1

To secure the future for the next generation, Americans need to take quick, decisive, and prayerful action. Problems facing the U.S. today include: lack of education, bigotry, elitism, moral issues that have divided the people, and financial issues. The nation's leaders need to return to morality, common sense, and manners in order to work together and find solutions. Individuals should educate themselves and their children, hold their political officials accountable, learn how to compromise, and pray for wisdom.

Bullying seems to be on the rise in the nation's schools. Children are learning to be bullies by watching the adults in their lives. In order to put an end to the bullying problem in the schools, adults need to set a good example by working harder to see things from the other person's perspective, ignoring the rules of political correctness, and engaging in intelligent discussions.

In addition to common sense and manners, people need to be educated. A good education gives a person power. Courage is also required to stand up to secular progressives and other bad influences who want to lead the U.S. away from the values set up by the founding fathers in the Constitution. If individuals take action on their own, collectively they can pass on to the next generation a country they can be proud of....

NO DOUBT INSTAREAD IS THE LEADER OF BOOK SUMMARIES

NO DOUBT INSTAREAD IS THE LEADER OF BOOK SUMMARIES

I have no doubt that INSTAREAD is the leader in book summaries. This is my third summary that I have purchased from INSTAREAD. They have become my go to place in deciding which book I want to read next. INSTAREAD's 30-Minute summaries are a very detailed and in-depth summary of the complete story. They first give the reader an overall summary of the story, and then they go chapter to chapter to point out each of the important events of the story. If that was not enough, they also then highlight each of the characters in the story and explain who they are and what their relationship to each other is. INSTAREAD does this in a way that is not only informative for the reader, but also intrigues them into wanting to read the entire book. I have come to rely heavily on INSTAREAD's summaries to determine which book I want to read next. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not only reading this summary, but reading each of INSTAREAD's summaries.

Ben Carson is a retired neurosurgeon who appears to be trying to further his recognition as a potential political force via his book "One Nation". It is difficult to take issue with Carson's position on most issues as he is 'spot on' and correct in his recommended solution to the problems facing this Country today. The problem is he is preaching to the Choir. The people that need to read his book will never do so as they are incapable of that much of a stretch. Ben Carson seems to be a nice guy; in fact, too much so. He's a 'turn the other cheek' kind of guy. He'd rather compromise and negotiate rather than take a position he himself knows is right. He is another one of those self appointed leaders who espouses lots of HOPE but does not have the gumption to take direct action to get the job done, regardless of the consequences. He fears he may offend someone. Move on Ben Carson.

I read and loved Dr. Carson's book, so I was curious as to how effective this brief summary would be. I discovered that the summary is quite effective in giving a broad overview of the material in the book—a summary, just as it says it is. I encourage readers to choose the original, both to get more detail and to enjoy the author's individual voice. However, if someone chooses to read summaries instead of full-length books because of time constraints, this is a good summary to read. The only quibble I have with it is that each chapter was summarized in narrative, then the key points were listed in bullet points. I found the bullet points repetitive, as the information had already been spelled out in the narrative.

The publisher provided a free copy of this book and a promise of a full-length book in exchange for an honest review.

Common sense in an easy to read booklet

I gave five stars for its concise yet comprehensive coverage of the necessary steps using common sense measures to get our nation back on track. I recommend "One Nation" A 30-minute Summary for the already informed reader whose busy schedule may not accommodate a more lengthy read at the time, but who will welcome the quick and easy read of encouragement and hope.

A plan that provides uncommon direction for our nation from a man who is unafraid to speak out. Ben has the background to speak to our nations needs and we need to stop thinking like a Democrat or Republican and think about what our nation NEEDS!!!! Summary was a nice read and I got what I want.

I do not agree with all that Ben Carson says in this book but he makes some very good points and we could all benefit by reading and practicing his ideas.

A very good read

A very good book well worth the time to read. I wonder if we could rise to the occasion to implement just part of this book.
