The writing style here is excellent and I like the idea of time travel as an explanation of 'ghosts'. But I would have rather the main character progress than regress into the past. It is of course, the writer's choice for the character. But I think she deserved better and her abuser - to be defeated by her and her allies that she could walk into the dawn rather than the sunset. As pretty as a writer can make the past, the truth of the matter is that it was very limiting for woman in the past. Her new love might love her, but he still thinks as his time and realistically, is going to expect her to act as restrained as the women in his time to some point. The social norms will demand it. So in the long run, she just enforced the constraints her abuser imposed on her and so he wins. And I think the writer of this book could do much better in her plotting than this.

I won my copy of this book in the 'First Reads' contest. Plus it was autographed which is always nice.:) I liked the story a lot but one thing really bugged me. There were a lot of spelling and punctuation errors. For example, often quotes were missing from the end of a conversation. It was a little distracting but it didnt affect the story. I like time travel novels and I liked the direction this one went. Knowing Megan was getting away from her abusive husband, even for short periods, was gratifying. I wont give away too much but it was a nice romantic read and I liked the way it ended. I glad the author put an epilogue in cause otherwise it would have driven me nuts not knowing what happened to everyone.

This book is wrong in so many ways. To lead one to believe that escaping an abusive relationship by escaping into a more "innocent" time is thoughtless. To write about a time earlier in history as if they would be accepting of a modern woman is ridiculous. To disguise soft porn by putting it during a time when sex was looked at in much more modest terms doesn't work. To have the abused woman make her final escape from a horrible present by standing in a burning house is irresponsible. The one talent this writer has is her ability to twist and turn a story to keep it moving, but she should put her talent to better use.

I just began reading this book today, but wanted to start my review now. One thing that is irritating to me are names, places, words that are not spelled correctly. Several times within these first 22 pages the name Sharon was spelled "Sharon" and "Sharron" numerous times each. Pick one! Just pick one and correct the others.

Finished the book mere days after beginning, all in all a good story, kept me reading. My only critique was the spelling of words, punctuation and some oddly chosen phrases.

This book was won on Goodreads.com.

I really enjoyed this story. It had a new twist on time travel . There was romance, suspense, and an intriguing premise. It was a fun read.
