Interesting characters and sweet romance
Isabelle is young, naive and she is the second princess of her kingdom. She thinks she has met the love of her life - Eric Malraux. But things are rarely what they seem, especially with her elder sister Juliana and the American billionaire Daniel Brosnan who has been invited to the ball.
The curse of the royal family where the mother of princesses and Prince Berrnaud wife’s story comes out.
Juli seemed to be a well-fleshed out character both in her coldness and her planning.
But the story belongs to Isabella and Dan and what happens when the feisty, naive princess is no longer with a home.
Dani’s family, especially his father, was another lovely character and his father’s character brings out Daniel’s jadeness in life even more.
Maxine is another sweet character and motherly and there were times when Isabella fails at appreciating how much Maxine has done for her.
Despite her obvious lack of talents, Isabella comes across as a sweet and lovely character and the love between Isabella and Dani’s family was very well brought out.
Interesting characters, sweet romance, neat plot and good read. Liked it.

I didn't really like it because of all the problematic undertones but considering the time this was published, I'd say it was okay. The ending was kind of abrupt for me, honestly. Juliana def deserved better. Anyway, I felt 2 stars was the right rating.

Great Reading!

Watching the development of the characters as they all grow and change throughout this novel was just one of the highlights. This book contains romance, chivalry, deceit, nail-biting suspense, and characters that you will not want to give up!

She writes well but…it’s still a romance. Boy meets princess. Princess thinks she is in love with another boy. Second boy marries Princess’s sister. Princess leaves home and winds up in the same city as first boy. Sparks fly. You know the rest.

Really loved the characters in this story. Loved how much they bumped their heads together but boy can they love.

One and Only by Barbara Bretton

I enjoyed this story.

The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.

Isabelle was the daughter of a European prince, fiery and free-spirited, the forgotten princess lost in her older sister's shadow.

In a shattering power play, she is forced to leave the life she's always known--and must make it on her own in New York City. There she is drawn to a man whose drive and passion match her own-and whose love challenges everything she's ever believed....Self-made millionaire Daniel Bronson is not a Prince Charming, but a real man--the only man who can love Isabelle not as a fairy-tale princess, but as a woman of passion and heart...

Really like this book, just as much as I like the first one! This was first published under the title "One and Only" back in 1994!

It was a little boring in the beginning, it took about 70 pages in, until it got good. Stay with it, it will be worth it in the end
