Always enjoy Brackman's books. In addition to the original block designs, this book is heavy on the history of women's westward journey through Kansas. Book features twelve applique wildflower block and two quilt settings. The corner blocks and border for "The Heart of the Matter" are my favorite feature of this book.

Wonderfully researched, as always. Nice photos too. Only one block pattern really stood out for me to try though...

recommend to anyone who daydreams about getting swept up in a gust of winds on the open prairie.
