Cassie Johnson has a very unique gift. She can see the past, present, and future of people when she touches their hands. It is a gift she has had to deal with her whole life, and she has seen things she wished she hadn’t.

Because she already knows what her dates are thinking and feeling, what they’ve done in the past, what their near future holds, relationships are difficult to come by. It is something that would put anyone off.

She does like someone, though—very much. His name is Michael and he’s a police officer at the station where she works. The problem? He doesn’t bat an eyelid at her. In fact, she would go as far as saying that he hates her.

However, when a new officer, Stephen, joins the force and seems to sweep Cassie off her feet, all that changes. For some reason, she cannot read him, and he quickly becomes a mystery that she needs to solve. Michael, on the other hand, doesn’t like it one bit and, pretty soon, jealousy rears its ugly head, leaving Cassie confused and frustrated.

Later, Cassie learns a nasty secret, resulting in a shocking revelation regarding Michael and Stephen. Cassie soon realises that there are things beyond her world—beyond her imagination. Michael is her protector, her savior, her guardian. But can he keep her safe? Can she control her growing feelings for not only Michael, but Stephen? Can she make a choice? And will her choice result in the happily ever after she so desperately desires?

If I say: don’t bother?

Yeah… that sums it up.

I thought it was a menage… it was a love triangle

I thought it was erotic… it was a young adult kind of, no sex whatsoever

Wow! I do not even know where to start. But I think I will make it quick and short. Just writing this “review” to make sure that menage romances lovers will know what they get if they wish to read this story.

First thing that comes in my mind is: the author needs to learn quickly past, present and future tenses. She switches tenses mid-sentence. It is annoying. It looks like bipolarity. In the same paragraph, I “hear” the heroine”s thought, and next sentence it is the author’s. #duh

You know what bothers me? I truly thought that along the way, a menage relationship was going to blossom. I was rolling my eyes with the 25 year old virgin character and waited for her to jump the bones of one or both characters… I waited… and waited… and waited and guess what? it never came!

Not only it never came (pun intended) but the character was a virgin tease. Each time they touched her, she back paddled as fast as she could. And yes, they. She switched back and forth between both. Not even being equal to both.

The plot was original and this is why I gave a 2 stars versus a 1 star. It held promises but after the first 2 chapters it was redundant: I love them, I can’t love them because if I give my virginity to one I will be guilty to not give it to the other, I love them , I can’t love them because if I give my virginity they will abandon me behind, I love them, I can’t love them because…. on and on and on and on and onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. th_shakinghead

The author included four separate dramas, because we all know that one well written is not enough: rape attempt, abduction, drug dealer and paranormal murderer.

Yes, I know this is a trilogy and I read only part 1. But at the end of part one, one main character is out of the story, gone, finito, bye, adios… What? Not only it is a love triangle but one of the main character dies?

The heroine was childish, whinny, a teaser and looked like a teen who hesitated which one she liked the best. She played with both guy’s feelings. One guy made a mistake long ago and she play the holly than you card. She was not lovable at all, the guys were on the other hand okay.

Honest, this story must have been written for young adults with characters of 25 years old and more. #weird

When I came around page 200, I was like: “the menage sex scenes and luv-ya’s-back-at-ya were coming up!” …. wrong, dead wrong. The best friend turned to be a bitch murderer (saw the bitch part coming not the murderer so cookies for the author for that), one male dies (I take ALL the cookies back) and at the epilogue I learned that angels can have children and human parents so 4 parents (credibility zero).

Blurb and cover book fooled me BIG time. Obviously I made a big mistake in the categories because I do not have the same definition of romance then…

kindleguardians

No. Heck no! I did not like it. It held so many pet peeves of mine in it…. In all the years I reviewed I only said that once, now I can say twice: I will not even take a chance with book #2, even the author.

As usual, it is my opinion here. I am obviously in the minority but if you wish to find hot sex, menage romance, run away because you will find any of that!

☆ I received an RC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you SO MUCH lovely!! ☆

3.5 stars!!!

Her Guardians held intriguing elements of surprise and mystery for me. While I did essentially know what was going on and taking place during the premise of the story, Cassie’s struggles with understanding her gifts (or “curse” as she likes to put it) and her cautious nature around others brought a humanistic and ethereal quality to the plot line that made her character seem genuine and “real.” It was just that convincing really.

I was highly enthralled with her as well as a lot of the other characters throughout and found the execution and motivations behind their thoughts/actions/words quite poignant and enigmatic to the point where it made me question and want even more.-- What will become of Cassie? Will she come to terms and hone in her unique abilities to see the past, present, and future? Who is this dangerous entity that is trying to destroy her and what do they want? Will it expose her secret to the world? And which angel protector, sent in the form of two brothers, will ultimately win her heart? Michael or Stephen?

Hmmmm, the woes of being different and wanted the powers of good and evil! ;)

Anyway, I will be definitely holding out as to how everything pans out as the stakes have considerably risen and the tensions just about begun to scratch the surface! I was literally at loss for words with the way that the author ended it! Gah!!

~~And FYI: I am on #TEAMSTEPHEN. For now at least. Sorry Michael fans! May the best angel win! ♥

First let me say LOVED the cover!! Cassie at a young age loses her parents. She moves in with her uncle whom she loves dearly. She trusts him with her secret, if she touches someone she can see their past and future. Cassie believes this is mostly a curse. She hasn't had much luck in the love department because she can see their past relationships. The man that makes her heart race seems to hate her. Once another man shows interest in her he finally figures out that Cassie is who he has been looking for all along. Michael has been sent down from the archangel to protect her, he just didn’t realize it until another guardian figured it out, Michael’s brother Stephan. Cassie quickly realizes she is pulled towards both of them and doesn't know who to choose. Oh did I mention they are both cops! They are trying to both protect her at the same time respect her wishes for space. The end is pretty crazy, someone close to her was only around her to destroy her all along.
Go get this book!!

Holy Moly!!!!

If you want all things HAWT!!!! then Michael and Stephen will make your panties wet!

From start to finish you are drawn to Cassies world of extraordinary. Starting at a painful time in her life you build up a bond between Cassie and yourself.

Jaimie takes you on one hell of a ride in this book, from hot lustful moments to pure intensity will they won't they.

You are put through a ringer of emotions and those boys will have your heart tearing in two.

I won this book in a fb giveaway, it's the first book I ve read by this author, and all I can say is wow. I liked the way it's written and how although Michael and Stephen are angels it's not in the main story line. Michael and Stephen, Stephen and Michael what to say, who would you chose if given the choice? I d want them both to. Great ending. Bring on book 2!

This was the first book that I read by this author and it was amazing!!! Jaimie Roberts brings the world of angels to life and I LOVE how everybody's name means something :) She also adds a twist about angels, something no one has probably ever thought of. I KNOW I'll be reading the next in the series and, hopefully, more of her books to come.

My first book by this author and not at all what I expected. First let's look at that lovely cover and yes I did wonder if it meant I was in for a ménage story which would be ok but not usually my first choice. Then I'm reading and I'm undecided as to whether or not this just might be a love triangle and it's kind of hard to put a new spin on those but this author has done a cracking job of just that. So not a ménage but a sexy story with a surprising punch at the end and if angels are your thing then prepare to see them like never before!
Cassie has always had a gift ( although she would see it as a curse) and her ability to see past , present and future from the touch of a hand has meant her life is somewhat lacking . Oh she's not really lonely and has a loving uncle and a supportive friend but there's never been a special someone for her as seeing their innermost secrets can put a downer on things. No Cassie works at her local police station and is doing her best to keep her head down but there's one particular officer Michael who she's all to aware of but he seems to despise her and ignores her constantly . That all changes though when the new guy at the station Stephen starts flirting with Cassie and before she knows it Cassie is falling deep into unchartered waters and tempted by two completely different men!
Neither Michael nor Stephen are exactly what they seem though and Cassie starts to discover just how different they are when she can't read them through touch . There has never been anyone whose soul wasn't bared to Cassie so exactly just what are these guys? Falling for the protective Michael and yet charmed by the irresistible Stephen what is Cassie to do? She has kept her gift hidden but events happen that cause her to reveal it but unfortunately using her gift might just put Cassie in more danger then she ever expected!
Well first I must congratulate the author on such a unique story. I am also quite pleased to see that this story is set in London as it's a bit boring always reading about Washington state or New Orleans in nearly every paranormal book available. I particularly enjoyed the scenes between the police officers and thought that showing they are all too human really added something to the tale.
Is this a romance? Well yes and yet at the same time I want to say no. There are some sexy moments here but this is so much more than a straightforward boy meets girl then another boy shows up and girl must choose sort of book. There is a lot of backstory to uncover and an ending that you will not see coming so be prepared to shout at your kindle as your jaw hits the floor! This story is most definitely not over and poor Cassie will have many more adventures I feel before she finally finds her happy ending but it's looks set to be an amazing journey and I for one am very keen to see what the author dreams up next.
I was gifted a copy if this by the author for an honest review and truly enjoyed all the twists and turns.

Hearts on Fire Review

Original Review Published here: http://heartsonfirereviews.com/?p=30018

Cassie Johnson is a woman with a unique gift. She can see the past, present and future of people she meets when she touches there hand. It seems to leave her wishing she never touched them. Cassie works at a police station trying not let her gift take over her life.

Stephen is a guardian angel trying to regain his place back in heaven. He has an attraction to Cassie but he tries to keep his distance because his brother has feelings for Cassie. Stephen also tries to repair his relationship with his brother.

Michael is a guardian angel tasked with protecting a special woman however he has no idea who his to protect. Michael is attracted to Cassie but he tries to ignore it because he is trying to find who he is to protect.

The connection between Cassie and Michael is intense, as is the connection between Cassie and Stephen. The biggest issue is that Cassie loves both Stephen and Michael equally so picking between them is very hard. I do wonder what the future holds because I can’t see Michael being happy for long.

Her Guardians is the first book in the Her Guardians Trilogy by Jaimie Roberts. I found this book well written with a unique plot that keeps you enthralled all the way through. The main characters and the secondary characters were captivating. This book has so many twists and turns that I was kept on my toes all the way through. Overall, this was a wonderful book.

Her Guardians as to be one of my most favorite books to date.
The story line is gripping, intense & emotional. I cried. I laughed. I drooled A LOT!

Cassie has a gift that lets her see into the past present & future ...unfortunately it doesn't always let see the nice things in life!
Cassie works in a police station where she fancies the pants of one police officer called Micheal (very hot by the way), but she thinks he dislikes her!
This is where MY MAN STEPHEN another police officer that shows his affection towards Cassie as soon as they meet. Stephen is a VERY SEXY, GORGEOUS, CHEEKY CHAPPY, BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING STUD MUFFIN AND ALL MINE! Ooops Sorry my mind wondered there...awkward much!
There's a shocking revelation & twist to this story...it was amazing. You must read it for yourself to find out as I DON'T give spoilers away...sorry!
I couldn't put this book down. I had a serious book hangover when I finished reading this!
Absolute MUST READ. Very SEXY, HOT & totally GRIPPING!

You'll just love MY STEPHEN...and the story too ;)
Enjoy all x

Again Jaimie surprises me and as always it is in a good way.
Jaimie is an amazing writer and though you have come to expect some pretty juicy sex scenes from her this book is different.. This book is about a struggle between mind and heart.. If you met two gorgeous men (in body and soul) who would you choose and how would you know if the choice you were trying to make would be the right one?
I have no doubt about which of these Angels I would choose and I do have a little inkling of fear that who I want will not be the one Cassie chooses in the end but this also means that I cannot wait for book two to reveal the next course of this amazing story which leaves you breathless..

Amazing, Beautiful, Angels, The story of Cassie made me crying. I could feel and see all of it. It was just like if I was there. Jaimie did an excellent job to give the right emotion in the right place. I really really loved Michael and Stephen and how this love triangle started. I still can't believe it. Her uncle Billy made me laugh.
Jaimie made me cry, made me feel and made me love her guardians.....

This is a must read and definitely in my top 1.

I had the pleasure of reading Her Guardians last year when it was in the early stages and I loved it. This book for me describes undying innocent love, okay maybe innocent is not the right word, true love and the internal struggle anyone can have when your heart loves two people at once. Even though it is fantasy Jaimie has made it believable and anything I questioned she answered in the book. Jaimie is the queen of WTF moments in a book and this one is no exception, by the end I was crying for more.

I was given this book via a Facebook giveaway for an honest review. First book I've read from this author and unlike any other paranormal romance I've read. I was thrown at first with the Brit speak which is weird coz I'm British but I'm so used to reading stories from American authors! lol.

Took awhile to get into the story but when I did I was hooked, nice twist at the end and I think I'm definitely Team Stephen. Michael never really seemed bothered either way but you could really feel Stephen's emotions. I will definitely buy book 2!

How could you possible choose between two sexy angels? I asked myself that several times while reading this book. The characters were amazingly written, the story was engaging and intriguing. You fell in love with pretty much every character. Bottom line you won't want this incredibly captivating story to end. This is book 1 of the series and man o' man you'll crave for book two. Loved every second of this book by Jaimie Roberts. Awesome read!

I love paranormal and I love romance, and I found both in this book.
It got me in the first lines and the love triangle made me read it as quick as my job and family allow me.
I like the way the author was able to keep me hooked because I never expected the end that I found.
I'll be reading the next book as soon as it is possible.
If you are looking for some sexy men and acción, you should read this.

I really enjoyed this book as it was totally different to what I expected...ok the angels on the cover were a bit of a clue but the storyline kept me wondering all the way through! I have to admit that I'm torn between Stephen and Michael but now I've read the link to book 2 and realise there's a third gorgeous and sexy male entering the equation what can I say but...bring it on Jaimie :-)

Cassie lost her parents when she was young she lives with her Uncle Billy. She has a secret something she sees as a curse on her..she tells her uncle the secret that controls her life .
Cassie Is gifted she can see the past present and future when she touches people. Its a gift she wishes she didn’t have and has had to cope with all her life, any dates she has had she knows what they think and feel whats to come all from one touch. So dating is hard for her.Cassie woks at a police station and she has her eye on someone there called Michael hes a police officer but Michael doesnt seem remotely interested in her. Then Stephen jons the force and definitely shows an interest in Cassie which makes Michael jealous. The other thing about Stephen is she cant read him….at all so Cassie sets out to solve this. When Cassie discovers something about Stephen and Michael she realises things are going on way beyond her imagination and what she knows.Michael is Cassies guardian hes been sent by the archangel to protect her but didn’t seem to realise this still Stephen arrived.Stephen is Michaels brother and also a guardian.Cassie starts to feel torn between the two angel brothers can she choose between the two?Theres a reason why she needs protecting but to say too much will give it away both are trying to protect her from someone….thats all im saying!
Theres also some hot sexy moments, Michael and Stephen are sexy and hot no wonder she has trouble choosing! You find yourself as the reader rooting for one brother then the other its exciting, emotional and at times abit frustrating all comes together for one hell of a thrill ride from Jaimie, she makes you feel every emotion she writes into this book.I lovethis book it was an amzing read and I cant wait for book 2!!!!

This book frustrated me to no end!

I don't mind books with a love triangle, but good grief. I lost count of how many times I wanted to scream at Cassie. The story outside of the love drama isn't a bad story, but so much time is focused on the love drama that it takes away from everything else.

Enclosed you will find:
swoon worthy love interests (one more than the other in my opinion: Stephen)

an indecisive main character who has visions and wants to help, but doesn't really know how to while keeping her secret

a never ending love triangle (when there is an epiphany, book one is at its end with the reader left wondering if she really makes a decision...)

Creeps, creeps, and more creeps (even ones that need castrated while conscious)

I was expecting more...and I think that hurt my opinion of this book. Not a good book for me. Doesn't mean other readers won't love it though.
