This book explains the guidelines an iOS app should follow. It includes examples from native iOS apps and contains code examples to create an effective iOS app. It talks about interactions, and different external actions you can implement in an iOS app. I don't really have a favorite part, it's all non fiction information. I would recommend this book to people who plan on developing an iOS app and have a basic understanding of the Swift programming language

I only read the iOS section of this guide. I did not read the macOS, watchOS nor the tvOS sections.

I found this to be pretty uninformative and very basic high level stuff. There were not a lot of specifics regarding layout or measurements. I also felt that Apple often disregards their own guides.

Having had read the Google Material Guides before I felt these were pretty inferior.

Good overview for starting iOS development, especially since it's been updated for iOS 8. Also includes lots of references to further, more detailed documentation. However, the organization could use some work. Some parts are overly detailed (Alerts) and others are barely a sentence with a reference to the definitive documentation. Other bits are also repeated throughout (sentence vs title capitalization).
