So, I ran and hid for so long.

For 7 years I was safe from my father and his three star players.

But now the three that scarred my skin have found me. They are forcing their way back into my life. Destroying the walls I’d put up to protect me.

Oh mercy… Break is definitely dark and twisted.
If you tend to get upset with certain tropes, please read the author’s warning as this one made my skin crawl from the first chapter.
After the first chapter, the story moves ahead seven years. The MFC, Hope, has moved far away from her tormentors. She’s got a great job she loves, a nice apartment in a safe building, and her freedom. I love that she’s strong and determined to face the three cruel men that finally made her run. They try their best to rattle her but she fights back, something she had found almost impossible to do in the past.
Suddenly, the catalyst of all her nightmares shows up. She loses a lot of the strength she’s gained as she slips into her protective mode. The three men begin to realize things are not always what they seem, and the dynamic begins to shift between the four of them.
Suspenseful, emotional, and frustrating, you will probably devour this first book in the series. Then, you’ll scream when you realize how evil Bodie Summers is, with that killer cliffhanger. Don’t be too hard on her, though. The next book, Protect is coming out soon. Of course, I heard that one has an evil cliffhanger, too. Bwahahahahaha! 😉

Good!

I wasn't sure how it was going to since Hope has been through so much and the guys were not gaining any points in my book. It started to turn around with them a little over halfway, but they're still VERY rough around the edges, but doing what they think they need to do to protect her. I guess their own way of protecting her? Anyway, doozy of a cliffy and look forward to reading more and hopefully the guys show up...

Dangggggg

Okay okay okay

This one had me going back and forth on whether I’d like it or be afraid of it.

That being said…. That cliffhanger was EVERYTHING and I need more.

I enjoyed the way this one made me feel.

So good!
Dark, twisted with rough segs scene. Beware with the author trigger wening, cause they are true.
One thing i'm glad about this book? It goes fast forward after the first chapt. I dont think my stomach could handle too explicit phedo rapey scenes.

And when in the prologue the author wrote, "There’s one thing I do know, and that’s not to ask for help..."
Thats just wrong.
Bullies, harashment, rape, or any crime should be blast on! Make sure people hear you, the victim, scream it loud! Never give those perp the power in your silent!
Speak up! For your self, atleast.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶 (spicy for the scene)
🔥🔥🔥🔥

I loved this book and usually a WC with the bully trope can go either way for me, so I am glad that I ended up loving this.

Hope, our FMC, had a pretty traumatic childhood that the MMCs were very much part of. We are introduced to Jaxon, Dimitri, and Knox in the...worst way... Skip to seven years later when Hope has her life together, has kept her demons far away from her new life, only to have the three tormentors show up on the football team she is the physical therapist on. All her past comes back to haunt her in her new life, and she doesn't take the same abuse anymore. When Jax, Dimitri and Knox don't understand what changed, they start to dig deeper and find the real secrets of Hope's life, and they are not pleased at all what they find. Instead of being part of the problem, they come in to protect her when no one else has.

The betrayal is crazy in this book, and you definitely start off hating the MMC's for what they do...and the bully trope is in full force as well. You only start falling for them when you start reading from their POV. The focus in this book is their groveling towards Hope, and you know what? I was living for it.

The cliff?!!! The twists?!! I just couldn't 😭😭😭

Spice: There is one scene, but the book lands on a heavy cliff, so you know it will only get spicier in the next book. Do not let only one scene deter you because trust me....as I said, the MMCs need to be groveling before anything progresses.

‼️‼️Triggers:‼️‼️
I always go in blind without reading triggers, but I will warn you there are some dark ones in here, so please put your mental health first.

⟣Tropes⟢
✅ Touch her and 💀

✅ Why Choose (3 MMCs)
✅ Obsessive/JP MMC's
✅ Betrayal 😢😭😔
✅ Groveling *so much*

Before anything else, please check the trigger warnings before diving into this one. It can get heavy at times.

This was my first book by Bodie Summers and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Her writing flows so easily without ever feeling rushed. It’s such a smooth and enjoyable writing style that keeps you reading without realizing how many chapters you’ve gone through.

The story starts off quite intense, but that heaviness fades a bit as the book goes on. Some of the plot twists really caught me off guard, while others were pretty easy to see coming.

There isn’t much spice in this one, maybe around 🌶️🌶️ more talk than action, let’s say 😂

Still, I’m definitely curious about book two, and I already noticed there’s a third one on the way!

First things first—what. A. Cliffhanger. I went into this story with zero expectations and came out completely hooked, heart pounding, and emotionally shredded.

We meet Hope, a woman who has finally escaped the clutches of her abusive father and built a life for herself as a physical therapist for an NFL team. She’s safe now, or so she thinks, until three ghosts from her past come crashing back into her world: Knox Hunter, Jaxon Steele, and Dimitri Kessler. Her enemies, the ones who tormented her and turned their backs on her when she needed them most, choosing to believe her father’s lies. To Hope, they’re no better than the man who hurt her.

To Knox, Jaxon, and Dimitri, though, Hope was always their girl. One unforgettable night years ago changed everything, and they’ve never gotten over her. Now drafted onto her team, they’re determined to win her back. But the Hope they remember isn’t the woman standing before them now. She’s stronger, sharper, and not afraid to fight back. She says no. She means it, or does she?

The tension between the characters is electric and unrelenting, teetering between pain and pleasure, desire and danger. There’s heavy con-noncon/dubious consent elements here, so readers should proceed with caution. Hope is battling deep trauma, confusion, and buried wants, while the guys are relentless in their pursuit of her, even when the lines blur.

Everything explodes when they confront the monster from her past face to face, finally seeing the truth behind Hope’s pain. But their vow to protect her comes with a chilling caveat: from everyone... except themselves.

This book is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re drawn to dark, emotionally twisted, romance with deeply flawed characters, you'll be hooked. That cliffhanger? It hurts in the best way. Ms. Summers, you better be writing fast, because I need the next installment!

Even if you think you’re unshakable—no triggers, ironclad stomach—this book will test your limits. Before you’ve even finished the prologue, the bile’s already rising. Call it dark, call it horror, but don’t call it erotic. There’s nothing remotely sensual about what Hope endures within the walls of her own home. Forget the monsters hiding under the bed. The true terror is the one meant to protect her: her own father. And worse still? No one believes her. There’s no escape, no sanctuary. Just more pain when her father introduces three more tormentors—Knox, Jaxon, and Dmitri—who mark her, claim her, and accept her suffering as just part of the deal. That was, perhaps, the most disturbing part: their complacency, their quiet complicity. Fast-forward seven years. Hope has clawed her way to freedom, building a new life far from the ruins of her past. But the nightmare isn't over. Knox, Jaxon, and Dmitri—now NFL stars—walk right back into her world. This time, Hope isn’t a broken girl hiding in the shadows. She’s ready to face them. What unfolds is a twisted tangle of power, guilt, and redemption. You want to hate them. You should hate them. And yet, something shifts. As cracks form in their certainty, a sliver of truth emerges—especially when the mere mention of her father plants the first seed of doubt. Still, forgiveness doesn’t come easy. Nor should it. Their groveling feels more like a stumble than a sincere atonement. They say they’ll protect her now, but they refuse to let her go—and Hope’s nightmare is far from over. By the time the cliffhanger hits—and believe me, it hits hard—you’ll be desperate to know what happens next. Raw, disturbing, and unforgettable, this story will haunt you long after the last page.

This was a page turner and I liked the FMC, Hope. I loved how Hope stuck to her guns whilst still being vulnerable. She is a real survivor and I genuinely believed that she still saw them as a threat; her development was really interesting as she keeps them at arms length and doesn't let them forget how they hurt her.

I am really struggling getting onboard with the MMCs though. Admittedly, this is because of the prologue and how they treated Hope in connection to her dad. I just can't get over how they were all ok with it; even if they were teenagers at the time, none of them thought it was gross? I would have felt differently if they hadn't seen clear evidence and it was more of a he said/she said, but it is mentioned several times that they knew exactly what Coach was doing. The prologue was awful to read (the writing was excellent though as my skin was crawling!) and I loathed them as much as her dad. They do get a redemption moment in this though (that whole plotline is great) but until then I was with Hope in that it was too little too late. The author just too good job at setting them up to be awful in that prologue!

That being said, the potential is definitely there for some development beyond all the possessiveness. Knox in particular had a great moment with Hope and I loved how she called him out specifically. And of course there is that cliffhanger; I'm interested to see where this goes as Hope deserves a HEA after everything she has been through.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

**This is the first dark reverse harem bully/sports romance book in the series. Series by Brodie Summers, and it does end on a cliffhanger.

Important Characters:

Knox

Jaxon

Dimitri

Hope

Coach (can’t remember his actual name🥴)

This is actually my first reverse harem book. I didn’t realize it was reverse harem and almost DNF’d before I started, and I’m so glad that I didn’t. I’ve been missing out on some of the best books just because I didn’t give this trope a chance😭 In the beginning of the book, I literally didn’t know how these three were going to come back from what they did. They fucked her head up bad alongside Coach. All I kept thinking was that the groveling better be damn good for all the shit they put her through. When they did begin to grovel, I expected a little bit more. I wanted them down on their knees, walking on hot coals for her kind of groveling. But they were too hard to hate, and I fell for all three pretty quickly. I love them in all their fucked-up different ways, and it’s a tie between Jax and Knox as my favorite. The way Knox is so brutal and dominant makes me weak, and how Jax was the first to realize that something was wrong. I loved how Jax likes with her feistiness, and it just makes him want her more. Another thing that I love about Knox is how he just takes what he wants. That one scene, and you know which one was hot!!!! One another note, Hope can’t seem to catch a break. Her past comes back to haunt her, and turns out some people that she thought she knew she doesn’t know at all. She’s constantly getting blindsided, and the cliffhanger was the biggest blindside of all. I’m hoping the next book comes out this year because I’m in the seat of my chair wondering what’s going to happen next.

Break is one of those books that sticks with you long after the last page is read. *MIND YOUR TRIGGERS* Disturbing in ways no one wants to believe could possibly happen outside these pages. Cathartic in a way that only seeing it plucked from another’s mind, written by another’s hand strangely can.

Hope. Oh, poor Hope. Everyone has let her down when it comes to her despicable father. And, as hard as it was for me at first to understand, Knox, Jaxon, and Dimitri were young, easily influenced guys. I can see their road to redemption—didn’t think I would be saying THAT. All four of them are all messed up from childhood trauma/events/influence—kinda makes them imperfectly perfect for each other.

I cannot wait for the next installment. I need closure for these four—especially Hope.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. First let me say, huge Cliffhanger!!! I jumped into this book not really knowing where it was going to go. I thought I had an idea, but I was so wrong. Hope has finally gotten away and is safe from her abusive father. She is currently a physical therapist for an NFL team. She loves her job and she is safe until the day that Knox Hunter, Jaxon Steele and Dimitri Kessler walked back into her life. They were drafted to her team. She now how to deal with her past tormentors day in, day out. They left her to flounder and believed what her father said about her. In Hope’s mind, they were just like her father.

Knox, Jaxon and Dimitri were excited to see their girl. That's what Hope was to them. That one night changed everything. They were determined not to let her get away this time. Would they finally see the real Hope? She is not meek and mild anymore. This Hope puts up a fight and knows how to say no. They know she doesn't really mean no. Not with them. She wants them as much as they want her, right? Everything comes to head when they bring Hope’s father for a visit. They finally see what she has been telling them all along. They will protect her from everyone except them. Her true enemies. There is a lot of con-noncon in this book. Hope is fighting demons and trying to figure out what she really wants. The guys want her and are will to protect her no matter the cost. Maybe on some level Hope wants the pain that comes with the pleasure they can give her. She can't want to be with her tormentors, right? The cliffhanger will leave readers begging Ms. Summers for more.

This is a quick read, dark romance story.

I enjoyed the story it was short, well written, fast paced and had me hooked til the end. It does end on a cliffhanger hanger, be warned! Check the trigger warnings and keep them in mind as it does deal with quite dark themes, I do think they were handled well and weren’t too descriptive details wise, just enough to let the reader know what happened without too many gory details.

I really felt for hope (fmc) she had a really tough life and tried to get help but was failed consistently by those around her. Dimitri, Knox and Jaxon were hard characters like at the start, tbh they were very easy to hate, but as the story develops and they start to see the lies they were fed by someone they admired and began to realise the role they played in hopes torment they start to try to redeem themselves. They are obsessive, ott and protective towards hope, and they push the boundaries whilst navigating the situation around the group.

A good, short/quick read ( I read it in less than 3 hours) and I cannot wait for part 2!

FFFUUUUCCCCKKKK!!!!

LIKE SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK?!?!? It can't end like that!!! I need book 2 NOW!!

Again, FUCK man. Hope had been through fucking hell. Her life was filled with abuse and trauma, at the hands of her father and then her 3 bullies in college. Now years later after she escaped and is working for the NFL as a physical therapist, they sign to her team. Old wounds are torn open, fears reignited, her father is brought back into her life, her bullies finally figure shit out and new threats are dealt with. But shit!! Knox, Jaxon and Dimitri have done a number on Hope and it's taking her awhile to figure things out herself. But when they finally realize their error and step up for her things change.... somewhat lol.

Jared is a douchecanoe and I feel like there is sssoo much more to that shit. That fuckibf cliffy man... I need more ASAFP.

I need them all together. We got Knox and Hope and damn was that HOT. I cant wait for the rest.

This is filled with triggers so check them. It is very dark.

Break is unrelenting. Hope’s story takes you through a harrowing journey of survival, betrayal, and the struggle to reclaim her life after unimaginable trauma. The community sees her father as a pillar of strength, but the truth is far darker—and Hope’s fight for freedom is only just beginning.

As she rebuilds her life, the men who once failed her return, complicating the very healing she’s worked so hard for. The story doesn’t offer easy answers, but it forces you to ask: can you ever truly break free from your past?

The ending leaves you reeling, with a cliffhanger that’ll haunt you long after you turn the last page.

What works:

A raw portrayal of trauma and redemption.

Tension that keeps you hooked, page after page.

A shocking, brutal cliffhanger that makes you crave more.

If you’re looking for a dark, intense read that pushes you to the edge—Break is it. You’ll be left needing the next book of this series, and you won’t rest until you get it. I, personally couldn't put the book down.

His touch is almost gentle, and I hate it because it's like I'm made of glass now, something that he has to be gentle with because my shattered self is held together by flimsy tape.

This book is about Hope and three of her tormentors from when she was younger. At the moment she's working as a physical therapist for the local NFL team and of course her dad's star players will find her.

Why can't I just scrub away that part of me? Or cut it out of my heart and soul? I'd rather not be whole than forever suffer from that part of me. Tainted. Broken. Weak. Or is that actually all of me?

I really enjoyed Hopes story in this book, I loved how she stood up for herself. I loved all the MMCs even though I didn't think I would in the beginning. I ate it up in an evening. Short and fast paced. Can't wait for book 2!

Hope deserves better than broken pieces and destruction.

Bodie Summers breaks boundaries in her books and this one is a perfect example of OTT men and a broken woman who fights them and her self. Hope- such an ironic name- is building a life that feels safe, healthy, and productive, but she seems to attract troubled men. She’s still affected by her sexually abusive father and the fact NO ONE believed her. Knox, Jacob, and Dimitri bullied her in high school and ‘wanted’ her so badly that they pushed her into finally escaping, but left their marks on her.

It’s a case of too little too late when Hope is reunited with them: they’re so arrogant, entitled, and under the false impression that she ‘liked’ their encounter. Biological responses don’t mean that she’s into them or their advances. I kept wanting to tell her she needs therapy to deal with her trauma, emotions, and how to move forward. Even though the guys become protective of her, they still have entitlement issues and Knox especially needs therapy for his painful childhood. I’m hoping that they can see the error of their ways and become healthy partners for Hope, if that’s what she wants.

(Emotionally destroyed in the best way)
First things first—what. a. cliffhanger.
I went in blind and came out wrecked, obsessed, and holding my breath for book two.
Meet Hope: survivor, fighter, and now a physical therapist for an NFL team—finally free from the man who broke her. Or so she thinks. Because the past doesn’t stay buried… not when Knox, Jaxon, and Dimitri come crashing back into her world.
💔 Hope is fierce, wounded, and no longer the girl they left behind.
💔 The boys? Intense, possessive, and still convinced she’s theirs.
💔 The tension? Deliciously dark. High-stakes. Unrelenting.
💔 The content? Heavy. Twisted. Tread carefully—con/noncon themes throughout.
This story pulls no punches. It’s raw, obsessive, and soaked in emotional chaos. The dynamic between Hope and her former enemies-turned-suitors? A knife’s edge of pain and want. You’ll root for her, scream at them, and still need more.
The final chapter? Devastating. Ms. Summers, please be writing fast, because I need answers—and vengeance.

This is such a heartbreaking dark twisted read. You will want to check out the TWs before starting.

I went into this story blindly and was taken through all my emotions. I felt so much anger, heartbreak and need for retaliation for our FMC, Hope. The author’s writing kept me entranced, unable to put down, needing answers.

Hope had a very traumatic and tormented childhood. Not only at home with her monster of a father but also by her classmates, our MMCs- Knox, Jaxon and Dimitri, who were also star football players that her father coached. It was hard to like the MMCs in the beginning. As the story unfolds you learn they also have their trauma they carry.

The author has a way of immersing you into the story and the visibility of it unfolding is gut wrenching. You feel all the emotions that the charade going through. The twists and uncertainties have you quickly turning pages. And the cliffhanger will have you reeling!

After seven years of abuse at the hands of her father and his associates—Jaxon, Dimitri, and Knox—Hope finally experiences a moment of peace. Unfortunately, that peace is shattered when she encounters them again at her job as a physical therapist for a local NFT team.

As events unfold, she receives a call from her father and later learns he is coming to her workplace. She dreads having to endure that torment once more, but this time, she is determined to face it differently.

This book shocked me, especially during the scenes involving sexual abuse. I found myself deeply invested in Hope’s journey and was rooting for her in every chapter.

I recommend this book, but be aware that it contains multiple triggers. It’s best suited for those who feel strong enough to confront such themes.

First things first: the triggers in this book are *triggering.* This is my first real bully romance, and I wasn’t full prepared. That said, I ultimately enjoyed the book a lot. The writing was excellent, with almost no spelling or punctuation errors (unfortunately a rarity with ebooks these days).

I really felt for the FMC, Hope. She was a survivor, and she did the best she could with the trauma she was given. The MMCs are compelling and I found myself warming to them right along with Hope. The dynamic between the three men (Dimitri, Jaxon and Knox) is at least as interesting as the dynamic of their unusual foursome.

Be warned, it ends on a cliffhanger that will have you desperate for the next book!

Break is one of those books that sticks with you long after you read it.
*CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS*

The FMC Hope had gone through hell with her life being filled with trauma and abuse from someone who should have loved and protected her and then add in at the time three stupid boys who had no problem turning a blind eye and only seeing what they wanted to see to add to her nightmare.

When she finally manages to escape and move on while pursuing her dream job in the NFL her past comes back and takes her on a wild ride and reopens old wounds and trauma.

Secrets are revealed and eyes are opened to truths.

This book will grip you and not let go and leave you wanting more and will break you..... especially after the cliffhanger!

I would highly recommend giving this a read!

This is the first book I have read by this author, and it did not disappoint. If you like your romance, very dark, twisted with dare I say loveable psychos. The ones that you hate at the start for what they have done, but as the book progresses, you see that these weirdos are obsessed with the main female character.

The storyline revolves around Hope dealing with a traumatic past. Someone who should have been her protector and her anchor became her monster instead. This monster then turned three of his star players into her nemesis. The obsession started then for Knox, Jaxon, and Dimitri, and it only intensified as time passed. Now they are back in her life, and they are determined she will not run from them again.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next one!

Harrowing and Intense!

Break is book 1 and an intense start to a trilogy I was totally unprepared for and pleasantly surprised by. This is an emotional, well thought out and heartbreaking story that sucked me in and has yet to spit me out.

This is a dark book so please check any trigger warnings the author provides, Bodie Summers holds nothing back and it is an exceptional read.

Hope is a shattered woman who has carved her way out of her past only to be found again by her exasperating, dangerous tormenters. She is determined and strong yet vulnerable and fragile at the same time. All the men had me on a rollercoaster about my feelings for them from loathing them to understanding they were battling their own demons.

Break left me wanting to immediately jump into the next book, Protect, to see what these complex characters have in store next! So Good!

First things first, make sure you check the trigger warnings before reading.

I’m a sucker for dark romance and sports romance so when you put them together… yes, please! Especially, this book. Knox, Jaxon and Dimitri were every bit as mouth wateringly hot as they were obsessed. And, I really liked Hope. She was strong and brave when she needed to be. With the trauma she went through in the past plus what is going on currently, her anxiety and panic was written excellently. Then the ending?! I need book two asap!!!

I did notice in chapter three it says Hope has green eyes but after that it says her eyes are blue. (Unless I totally read something wrong or missed something haha)

Wow this book just grabbed me from the get go. Could not put it down. My poor girl Hope has gone through so so much trauma by the hands of her father and her bullies Knox, Jaxon and Dimitri.

Seven years later she’s working a job she loves and has gotten away from her past. She’s resilient. Moving on with her life. Her past catches up to her but she’s become stronger and won’t take abuse anymore. Her bullies have realized how wrong they were and how their former coach (Hope’s dad) lied to them about her. The betrayal cut deep. Now they will do anything to protect Hope.

That cliffhanger was insane. I’m hanging on a cliff waiting for the next book. This is my first book I’ve read by Bodie Summers. You can bet I will definitely read more. I need the next book in the series like yesterday!!!!

Let me start by saying I read the trigger warnings and went into this with open eyes. But I came really close to dnf after the first chapter. I stuck it out because I love this author. I'm glad I did. There were several times I thought I was going to vomit when thinking about what hope had to endure. And I'm still not completely sure if I can forgive the guys for their part in what happened to her. Yeah they've done things to make amends but if they really wanted to make amends they should have put a permanent end to her dad. Cuz that Cliffhanger has desperately waiting for the next book.

So this is actually the second book I’ve read from Bodie, and I’m pretty sure she’s becoming my favourite author. This book is twisted, dark and the perfect amount of spicy. Definitely read the trigger warnings guys, this book is dark dark.

I usually don’t like a book that has no happily ever after but the cliffhanger in this one makes me crave for more. Don’t want to give too much away but in my opinion this isn’t one to miss.

Read your trigger warnings because this book is dark! I'm happy that the darkest part was only in the beginning ( I love dark romance, but it was a bit hard to read even for me).

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The book was intense, and even though I first thought the men were irredeemable, they showed that there is more to them than you see in the beginning. Hope is strong and I hope she will keep on being strong. She is going to need it do to that cliffhanger! Can't wait for the rest of the story!
