This book is aimed at readers in their teens and up until their twenties (although I'm sure readers of any age can find the information useful). The topics covered in this book range from how to handle finances, fashion, healthy living, relationships for both single and married life, and spiritual growth. The style is written as if friends were sharing this information with each other. There are some lighthearted moments and comments that make you smile. While the topics may not always apply to every reader, there is much to be learned from this book that could be used for current or future use.

Holly Wagner with the help of Nicole Reyes has written another outstanding book. I have yet to pick up a God Chicks book that has not made me smile and laugh out loud at times. Wagner has a writing style that makes it seem like you are having a personal conversation with a long time friend instead of reading a book.

But one of the great things about Wagner is her upfront and non-apologetic way of facing tough issues. Though she does it in a loving, light-hearted way there is no denying the firmness in her conviction of what is right and wrong according to scripture. In a world filled with mixed messages and this type of approach is very important. Young ladies begin to get bombarded by negative images and messages at very young ages. The world is a terribly confusing place and sometimes it is difficult to navigate through the junk and stay on the right path.

In this book Wagner and Reyes help young women develop a better sense of their identity in Christ, becoming founded firmly in the Word. Through real stories and biblical examples young ladies are empowered to live a life abundantly in Christ.

If you have a graduating daughter, niece, grand-daughter, or college age friend this would be an excellent gift to slip to them. Let them know they have a cheer-leading squad that believes in them but that also knows this world can be difficult to navigate at times.

Survival Guide for Young Women was a great read! It was chalk full of practical, relevant biblical advice and things that will make the reader smile. As a 20 something myself, I found this to be refreshingly honest and really tackled the problems that women my age face. With chapters covering everything including: personal style, money management, love life, raising a family and living your life fully for the Lord, I found everything to be relevant and things that I needed to learn about. This would make a great book for any young women, including small groups!
I highly suggest this fun, engaging read!

Soooo....I'm not exactly a spring chicken, but this book was such a breath of fresh air. I really thought it was geared towards the younger Chicks, but not at all. It is an ALL encompassing (true to the title) SURVIVAL GUIDE for women. Everything from what type of hairstyle compliments your face shape best to dating to daily tips on livin' life. It's kinda like that "Dangerous Book for Boys", but better, it's about us girls.

So whether you are 18 or 49 or 79, there's something in it for you.

I would recommend this book for young women: teens and early twenties. It's fun, biblical, and easy to read!

If you mentor young women, I would highly recommend this as a discipleship tool!

If you're looking for super theological and deep, this is not your book. But I gave this a 5 star rating because it covers all the important bases for young women and it was entertaining. I believe this book will keep young women entertained, which ultimately keeps them interested.

As a woman in her early twenties, graduate fresh out of college and this book was PERFECT! I think that anyone should at least read the last chapter. There are plenty of interesting facts and ideas even if you aren't sure about your religion. I highly suggest this book to any woman!
