Four Horsemen MC #1

Sweet Perdition

Rate this book
Do librarians and bikers mix?

Librarian Elizabeth Williams is drinking her cares away at Perdition, a notorious biker bar in her hometown. She meets Ryker, a member of the Four Horsemen MC, and they start a fun, sexual fling. Ryker finds himself falling for Elizabeth, but an outlaw has no business with a "good girl." Hell, he's not even sure he'd be worthy of one. He's mostly been "wham, bam, get the hell out" with the wild women who hang around his club. Meanwhile, Elizabeth is being stalked by her ex and Carl's behavior is becoming more and more erratic. If Ryker can keep her safe, they might have a shot at something lasting.

This was my first time reading Cynthia Rayne, and I really liked this book. I love me a good biker book. Finding good ones is really hard. There is a fine line between sexy, alpha, badass biker hero and cheating pos asshats. The key to a good MC book is tap dancing on the fault line of the two. I loved that Ryker was sexy, protective but still badass. There was one moment in the book were I felt Ryker really came close to tipping over into cheating pos asshat, but he pulled it back and pulled his head out of his ass. For my friends that want to know what he did and if this book is safe, read the spoiler So for me it was safe and kinda what I expect when going into MC but still wanted to give the heads up. I loved Elizabeth. I loved that she was a librarian with a bad girl side. Overall I really liked this book. It was a quick sexy read, and I can't wait to read more.

Ryker is your classic MC Club bad boy, and Elizabeth is the town librarian, so the epitome of a true good girl. So, what is she doing in a biker bar, alone? Ryker feels a pull to her the minute he lays eyes on her, but much to his chagrin it feels like more than just sexual chemistry. Elizabeth just left the wedding of her ex-boyfriend to her best friend, and she is in the mood to do something a little out of character, one-night with the sexy biker may be exactly what she needs. These two have amazing sexual chemistry and I loved them together from the first meeting.
Cynthia Rayne does an excellent job setting up this story, introducing the key characters to the MC scene and just enough backstory to keep me wanting more. This book is listed as a longer novella, but to me it felt like a full book, it was not rushed, the story developed well and within a minute of finishing this book I downloaded the next book in this series Hot as Hades, Cowboy & Daisy’s story).

I gave this book 5 stars and can’t wait for more from this author and this series. If you are a fan of the MC genre read this, and if you aren’t or haven’t read one before I think this book is a great place to start.

It has been, what seems like ages since I read an MC book. At least an MC book that is good! Seems like people are writing bikers like they were all writing Vampires 5 years ago!

Saying that though, I really loved this book.

We have Ryker, Elizabeth, AKA Pinky, and not forgetting Lucy!

And I never ever say this, EVER! But I loved the heroine Elizabeth more then the hero Ryker! That never happens for me. I loved Ryker too, in all his ott male dumbassness, but Pinky, I adored! She stood up for herself, took no crap, was feisty and fun.

Banter between the two was great. I loved how they related to each other, and yes Ryker had some pretty dumb moments, he went down fighting at first, but he soon got over it!

The suspense and drama could have maybe been dragged out a touch more, it just seemed to have come out of the blue, and get resolved quickly. I also expected her best friend to make an appearance at some point, but she did not.

When at 85% on my kindle I turned the page and got an epilogue, I was slightly thrown and disappointed, but then I wanted more Ryker and Pinky!

Some very intriguing secondary characters that I really hope get their own book. I am very intrigued by Shepherd and it will be interesting to see if and how she handles his book.

And I know, I recently majorly ranted over a book and the way every other woman in the book, bar the heroine is portrayed as a slut - and yes this is an MC book. But the "hellions" were not a huge part of the book, and Ryker was not hugely respectful in his head, but I sort of expect it in a biker book, and can be a bit more relaxed about it, and even here, it was not that much a deal. It was more of a "they like it, we like it, no judging about it" attitude.

An excellent 4 stars for me.

Sanjali really thought she could rec this to Neela and i and act like she did us a favor *tsk tsk* you will not get away with this sanjali!

descriptions
the way Ryker and Elizabeth described each other was hilarious

him:
He scooted onto the stool she’d just vacated and placed a hand at the small of her back. Not quite on her juicy ass, though he wanted to give it a squeeze.

her:
And his abs? Judging by the way his tight shirt clung to his muscled torso? She bet you could grate cheese on them.

not sure what's worse, 'juicy ass' or abs you could grate cheese with...i'll leave that up to you cause it's a toss up

first time
nah like this here is insane. Ryker basically decides for Elizabeth that he's going to take her home and fuck her. well in order to hitch a ride on his motorcycle, she has to take her underwear off...really smooth my guy. well Elizabeth gets turned on and kinda gets the motorcycle seat wet and well-

He swiped his hand down the seat of his Harley, capturing the wetness which had seeped from her and brought it to his nose. “I can smell you.” He slipped a digit in his mouth and sucked it clean while she watched.

i am attempting to conjure up any amount of will i have to NOT find this hot, but i'm struggling here 🫣

fast forward to a little later when they're getting hot and heavy. you'd think the hero would take it easy cause yanno...it's their first time together but NOPE. he decides to finger her ass?? like y'all haven't even fucked yet so let's pump the breaks a bit. HE EVEN TELLS HER HE'S GOING TO TAKE HER ANAL VIRGINITY...SIR IT HAS BEEN 5 MINUTES

public dub-con
so Elizabeth and Ryker decide to go to this fair. while there, they run into Elizabeth's creepy fucking ex that's still obsessed with her despite marrying her best friend. well, Ryker gets jealous and takes Elizabeth into the parking lot where he bends her over his bike. you know exactly where im going with this.

well, Ryker makes this gross ass comparison of Elizabeth to his motorcycle (which he named Lucy)—

“That's more like it. I get to enjoy both of my girls at the same time.”

SIR THAT IS AN INANIMATE OBJECT YOU'RE COMPARING A HUMAN BEING WITH. it gets worse when he tells Elizabeth—

“Don't be jealous, darlin'. Yours is the only tailpipe im gonna fill, Lucy gives me a great ride, but she doesn't have your curves”

LITERALLY SHUT UP IM PUKING 🤢

somehow, this only gets worse...Ryker pulls his dick out and when Elizabeth asks him to put a condom on

HE PENETRATES HER. NOT THIS MAN REFUSING TO USE PROTECTION AFTER SHE WAS VERY CLEAR SHE WANTED HIM TO. mind you this is still in public

he proceeds to fuck her and decides 'huh...what better place to take a woman's anal virginity than in public' 😍 MC men are soooo dreamy gah where is mine?!

naturally, Elizabeth is pissed because he didn't use a condom and fucked her in public so poor Ryker realizes he needs to make it up to her.

so he...

CHANGES HER FUCKING CAR OIL

I am baffled that this is a real and the fact that Elizabeth...understands him?!

This was an apology. He didn’t actually say the words, but he’d come here to make amends via some car maintenance.

this may have been a fever dream, it's unclear

I liked this one but I didn't come anywhere close to loving it. Rough biker who also happens to be tall, dark and all kinds of dreamy meets an innocent, only had "relations" with one other guy hook up? Check. Biker becoming possessive and...possessive after only one round? Double check. Biker reevaluating his situation based on the fact innocent won't sleep with him while he's getting some hoochie action on the side? Yep, that happened too.

While I do think there's some great potential to be mined for future books, I'm hoping these ladies (two sisters are writing the series) buckle and get a new editor. Lots of punctuation weirdness and words that should have been other words. I knew the author was trying to say "absently" but the book still read "absolutely" and those little slip ups tend to take me away from the story, unfortunately.

I can envision good things happening with this series. Shepherd's book, if it happens, looks to be a good one, even just for the fact he's a V.P and by the look of things seems to have a fondness for one of his young penis carrying recruits. That could be interesting...

Promising first in series.

Elizabeth is having a bad day, in fact she's having a bad day to rival all her other bad days and she needs a drink, she's dressed in barbie pink after attending the wedding of her best friend and her, yes her ex-boyfriend, so the too nice and usually too good, quiet librarian is sat in a rough biker bar knocking back the drinks, I mean, as if the wedding wasn't bad enough it was dry, she didn't even have the luxury of alcohol to help her through.
At this bar 'Perdition' she meets Ryker, now Ryker's a member of the Four Hoursemen MC and he's used to a whole different set of woman, more loose, easy and well, skanky, which makes Elizabeth a complete change and he's intrigued by her.
I liked that they were so different and Elizabeth, apart from her appalling previous taste in men, namely Carl, was great, well initially she was great she kind of lost herself in places, I didn't like the part where she goes to the bar, you'll know the part when you get there if you read this book and I have to say the only thing that saved this for me was the dual POV's because while Ryker was being a complete dick we have the benefit, well maybe benefit stretching it a bit I mean I'm not arguing that he's an idiot at times but we know he's, in his own way just trying to save face I just wish all that shit wouldn't pour out of his mouth when we know he doesn't mean it. Ok, I know I'm rambling but as a biker reading woman I always feel predisposed to forgive the hot guy that means well but has had a hard life that's made him this way and all he needs is the love of a good woman, I know I know I'm setting women's right back, but we know what to expect from MC books and if we didn't like this type of man we wouldn't read these books. I was impressed by her and how she handled things with Carl, Ryker, well I liked him as well, I mean he's a hot biker what's not to like but he struggled to adjust more and he's a man so at times he's an idiot.
I would have liked more, the story felt rushed in places although I agree with the reviewer who said it felt longer than the novella it is, I must admit I kept expecting the best friend to pop up, and while there were a few things I didn't really like, I still can't believe she wore that outfit, I mean talk about being outside your comfort zone but on the whole I thought this was a great first book and I'm looking forward to the next one. Shepherds book, when it comes should be interesting.
So in answer to the question do librarians and bikers mix, yes they do, very well and often.

This is a sweet and sexy story about opposites attracting. It’s the first book in the Four Horsemen MC series by Cynthia Rayne.

Our heroine, Elizabeth, is depicted as a prim and inexperienced librarian who also has an unexplored wilder side. Ryker, our hero, is a member of the Four Horsemen MC who is happy with his rowdy life and single status - until he meets Elizabeth.

The night they meet, Elizabeth is drinking and crying in a biker bar after attending the wedding of her ex-boyfriend and her best friend. Ryker approaches her and they end up spending the night together. From there, the romance moves very fast. Regardless of them physically getting together so quickly, I would’ve preferred a slower emotional courtship where they got to know each other better. They move from lovers to dating to relationship in a matter of days. The actual love came later, which is one of the reasons I think this story worked well in the end. I do wish it would’ve been a longer book further exploring the theme of wild biker man + sweet naive woman.

I loved both main characters. Despite his tough guy act, Ryker is both hot and cute. He calls her “Pinky” because the night they meet Elizabeth is wearing a fluffy pink bridesmaid dress. Elizabeth is a mesh of innocent and audacious, she doesn’t hesitate to sleep with Ryker hours after they meet even though she’s never had a one-night stand. The story is character-driven and the plot is mostly low angst, although we do have a troublesome villain at the end.

The secondary characters were great, including Ryker’s biker mom and the MC members who were introduced. I really hope they get their own book soon (looks like Cowboy is up next!).

This was a hot quick read about Elizabeth, a naughty librarian, and Ryker, a member of the Four Horsemen Motorcycle Club.

Elizabeth hits a bar, Perdition, after her attending her ex's wedding and meets Ryker, who is instantly interested in her especially when she tells him to "go away" lol. I loved the way he called her Pinky because of her fluffy pink bridesmaid dress. ;)

If you enjoy the bad boy / good girl trope or enjoy MC Romances this one is for you!
Happy Reading!!!

I gotta say, I have been totally reluctant to read any MC books. I am a huge SOA fan and I could only imagine getting pissed at any kind of 'knock offs'. I like the real thing, thank you very much.

BUT...

ERMAGHERD!

This book was a helluva a lot of hot sexy fun. In simplest terms, it's a good girl meets very bad boy story, but done extremely well. I LOVED Pinky, she was an awesome female character. One of the best I have read in awhile. She more than held her own with Ryker, who was a pretty badass alpha. Plus the sex was smokin'.

Were there things that made me roll my eyes and go, puhleeze this is waaa-ay too SOA?

Yeah, there was a bit. But this book makes its own impression in the end. It's very character-driven and the sparks flyin' between Pinky(aka Elizabeth) and Ryker(aka...well, okay, I won't give away his real name, lol) are totally believable and make for a damn good time.

I can't wait to read Cowboy's story!! Yee-haw! lol

Awful.
Ridiculous.
Disappointing.
WTH did I just read and then had to skim & skip all the stupid steam parts.

Nothing but a sex book when it all came down to it. The stalker ex-boyfriend was the lamest part of the book and how it was taken care of. Ryker was a horny asshole. Elizabeth was a hidden closet dirty slut in the end.

Ryker was a dirty, crass talker of a biker. He also threw in some "fifty shade" kinds of moments. (IE: Plugs. Spankings. Having her wear certain things. Keep her panties if she wanted to ride his bike. Doing stuff to her in public. ... If there's more I honestly didn't try to find out.)

Also, Ryder would be a total dick and do a few messed up things and she would be pissed off or livid. But low and behold, he gets his hands on her and she's all liquid putty ready to let it go and be royally screwed.

Elizabeth Williams has always been a nice girl , even when her ex broke up with her and started dating her best friend, she reacted as if she was okay with it. Deep down she wasn't and having to attend the wedding in a pink fluffy outfit was pure torture. On a whim Elizabeth decides to drown her sorrows in a biker bar and meets Ryker. Ryker doesn't know what is up with the curvy woman in a ridiculous outfit, but he wants her at least for the night. One night leads to two and soon Ryker is getting heat about making her his old lady, Elizabeth has no clue about life in a MC but letting her go is not an option.

I was not sure what to think on this one since the reviews were mixed, but I thought it was a lot of fun. I think the timeline was fast and could have been longer, but overall the story was fun and full of sass.

Go to Heaven for the climate, to Hell for the company.- Mark Twain-

I'm avoiding a lot of Biker romances as they always seem to be the same luckily this wasn't. This book was original, funny and a pleasure to read. The prim and proper Elizabeth is caught in a hideous pink dress drowning her sorrows.
Ryker from the Four Horsemen spots her and can't help the attraction. Pinky as in Elizabeth is fed up of ggos girls finishing last so she takes a ride on the wild side. The book could have been a bit longer but I still loved it. I can't wait to read Shephards bbok.

What a complete waste of my time. As far as MC books go, this one really sucked. Talk about a novel that's so passé with a hero and heroine that lacked any kind of depth and character. Of course you can't have an MC book without any sex, so yes, there's hot sex that's sure to please some. Definitely an MC series that I'm not going to continue with.

This was short and sweet (not literally sweet, but sweet as in smooth).

Ryker is the epitome of an MC alpha-male who’s hella possessive. Homegirl is a librarian, though her profession doesn’t really have any significant meaning in the book. Other than she’s a good girl.

This book had okay smut. There’s no cheating. But it does have a weirdo ex-bf.

I liked it :-)

Because I felt like it. Look at my ratings for cover and blurb and ask -- why'd she read the damned thing? Well, I felt like it. Fresh off my craptastic "The Promise" experience, I just needed something quick. I saw this one being bantered about in a GR string I follow and thought -- "why not?"

What did I like?
1 -- It was fairly short. Moved pretty quickly. I'm not normally a fan of a short story or novella. I like something a bit meatier, but if this had been longer, I think I would have committed hari kari.

2 -- It wasn't terrible. Not great, but okay. Thank God it was short :)

3 -- I liked the story concept. I thought it'd be fun. I can't say it was fun, but it wasn't not fun.

4 -- The naughty scenes weren't bad. A bit over the top for so early in a relationship with a "nice" girl, but not bad. She was trying to cram this in a short, so I'll give her this one.

Now, what bothered me about it?
1 -- My number one issue with this one happens at the very end - when the story is complete. The author is rounding up her group of "hellions". This is the term used in the book for the sweetbutts. Seriously? Can we be a bit more original. Let's see whose ideas we can steal and cash in on. Right? Gah!

2 -- This author actually had our "bad ass biker dude" think that Bon Jovi and Kiss are not bad music. The biker and our "hot" librarian were at the Red Bud Festival. A small town fair. Walking down the "midway", she asks him if he is having fun ... Here's the quote:
""Not bad. Good music. Better eats." He shrugged. It could have been worse. They had an 80s rock band in the pavilion and the group had been working through Bon Jovi's hits all night. They threw in a bit of Kiss and Van Halen now and then ..."
Enough said.

3 -- The short format isn't this author's forte'. I'll try one more, but if it is as choppy as this one, I won't be back.

4 -- Okay. Back again. This is a case of a nice girl trying to write about bad boys. It just doesn't come off as authentic. Not at all. The language is pretty tame. The mannerisms are off.

5 -- The guy on the cover is total cheese. Doesn't do "hot" for me, unless you consider my comment #4 above. A nice girl writing and thinking bad boy. For me, the cover screams CHEESE!! Enough said.

Okay, I could probably go on and on, but then my review would be longer than the book and that is so not cool. You may like this one. It wasn't terrible .. not really. It goes pretty quick.

Happy Reading!

This was a pretty good story. I liked Elizabeth and Ryker and their story was enjoyable and I liked the chemistry between them. This is the first book I've read by this author and I liked it well enough that I'll probably try more of her work in the future.

Elizabeth is a librarian and has always been a "good girl". All that got her was being the bridesmaid at her friend's wedding to Elizabeth's ex-boyfriend. Since the wedding was dry, Elizabeth feels the need for a drink immediately and the first bar she comes to is Perdition. She knows it's the MC's bar but she doesn't care at the time.

Ryker is a biker in a MC. He's the brother of the Pres and son of a previous member and Ryker grew up in the MC world. The MC is clean to a point but does get involved in some dangerous things. Ryker does his duty and takes advantage of the club "hellions" (a nicer name than some MC books use for club whores) frequently. He never intends to settle down and find an old lady but when he meets Elizabeth things start to change.

Elizabeth is in the bar drinking. Even though she has a pink monstrosity of a bridesmaid's dress on, Ryker sees the shape of her and decides he likes it. He goes to talk to her and she spills out the story of her getting stuck in the wedding of her ex and her friend. She doesn't care about the ex but because of their history everyone at the wedding had been staring and whispering behind Elizabeth's back. The fact that there was no alcohol at the wedding didn't help things so she was concentrating on drinking and not really receptive to Ryker's advances. Ryker does manage to get her interest though and after a game of pool with an unexpected ending, they end up on Ryker's bike and them back at his place for the night.

Ryker doesn't usually bring women back to his place but he quickly realizes that he wants more than a one night stand with Elizabeth. She's rather surprised at this fact but agrees to see him again. Of course she has some concerns about the MC and what it does because most of the town doesn't know how legal it's dealings are. Ryker tells her some stuff but can't get in to everything. Elizabeth actually accepts the MC business better than she accepts Ryker's need to lay claim to her but still insists that since she's not his old lady he's free to do whatever (or more accurately whomever) he wants. This causes some issues between them and I liked that Elizabeth wasn't a wimp about things and pushed back and gave Ryker a piece of her mind when it was needed. There were also some issues because of Elizabeth's ex showing up and trying to cause trouble and Elizabeth shows her backbone with him as well (even if she does underestimate him a bit). There's some drama between Ryker and Elizabeth and he does hurt her in a bout of relationship dumbassedness but thankfully they're able to work things out and ended the story heading their way to a HEA together.

I enjoyed this story very much. I liked Elizabeth and Ryker and liked their interactions and chemistry together. Ryker acted like a bit of a jerk at times but it wasn't too bad. Overall, the story was pretty good and I had no major complaints. It kept me thinking about it and wanting to read more when I was pulled away for a time so it was engaging. I'm planning to try more of the series in the future. I'd recommend this story. :D

#A librarian and a biker. Who would have thought?#

description

Sweet Perdition was a good start to Cynthia Rayne’s Four Horsemen MC series. It had all of the things you could want in an MC book and then some.

description

Normally, while I do love myself a good MC read, I had grown weary and sort of tired of this genre as a lot of what I had been coming across were practically all the same and all falling into similar patterns: sex, booze, a lot of f bombs, sexist comments, grit, and ridiculous biker drama. Blah, blah, blah.

So what made me like this book?
It has NO instantaneous love story line going on! I fricken' HATE that! *ugh!* While both characters are very attracted to one another, they don’t start sprouting declarations of everlasting love right away like most books.

No, they start off at two totally opposite totem poles where the guy who is a total commitment-phobe and a woman looking to a bleak future at being alone.

But of course…one night changes everything and Ryker feels his sinuous, no holds barred world turning upside down.

description

Unnerved by Elizabeth’s new presence in his life, Ryker tries to push his feelings away for her and carry on as he had always had.

But when danger lurks itself and Ryker finds it targeting Elizabeth, can Ryker protect her without losing his heart in the process? And will Elizabeth ultimately be his eventual game changer? His ONE exception to his one night stand rule?

description

Read and you will find out!

##Not bad, not bad for a beginning Ms. Rayne! While I do think that there is a few glitches to be worked on, I do look forward to reading more form your MC series!##

Plot✨✨
Okay so ummm Elizabeth meets this biker and they fuck and he's like i don't wanna seem a pussy in front of the other bikers so I'll grind up and let other girls (naked) dance on me and cop a feel here and there. Elizabeth finds Ryker in this scandalous scene and he tells her that he wanna whore around and also she's his. Which makes no sense exactly and she's pissed off now and he's like imma do an oil change on your car and then they were lovey dovey. He also beat up her ex which earns him Brownie points.

Now some golden times
He had to penetrate her, if only a bit. He pushed his forefinger into her ass. Barely sliding it beyond the tight ring of muscles. She turned from him, pressing her face into the pillow. Groaning.
Snug as hell.

snug as hell

“Taste you.”
Her legs might buckle. “Oh God.”
“But I want it straight from the source,” he muttered, eyes drinking her in.

Sis a honeycomb

her flushed nipples surrounded by wide, rosy areolas. All of it framed by her milky white skin

Rosy...areolas (love it when my men go all with the right words)

He was an ass man all the way.

Good to know

He growled as he came, puddling his seed all over her ass. So fucking hot to see his jizz spilled over her creamy white skin, as though he’d marked her as his own.

Not the JIZZ

her clit puffed out for him, forming a hard tiny kernel.

Too much information?..

Feel what you do to me,” he murmured. “I woke up with a hard on the size of a baseball bat.”

Just...JUST shut up.

That ass would be his. And soon.
But in order to get some ass, he needed a plan.

Love a man with a plan

And my personal favourite

Suddenly made him wish he had three cocks, so he could totally take Pinky at once. Pussy. Mouth. Ass. All full of him.

Weird flex but okay.

Anyways..

I liked the story idea, I really did, however, I felt that the whole thing was very rushed to the point that any believability sort of went out the window... Perhaps my perception was off but the entire story takes place in like three maybe four days.

Hero meets heroine, they have one night stand, decide they don't want it to end there, he picks her up the next night for a date, the heroine stays the night, the next morning the Hero's mother is grilling the heroine about her relationship with her son!? Wait... What relationship!? Two nights of raunchy sex and one actual date does not a relationship make...

Then, to top it off the whole point of the story is the heroine was in the bar where she meets the Hero after watching her ex-boyfriend marry her best friend and two days later the ex is all up in the h's grill going "Oh you're dating a biker, I never knew you were so sexually adventurous I want you to be mine again!" TWO DAYS AFTER HIS WEDDING TO HER BEST FRIEND!?

The entire novel was in hyper drive from beginning to end and could have used a lot more fleshing out. Character back stories, something to space some of these events out. (All though making the ex a creepy bastard was done pretty good, I just think more could have gone into it, stretch it out everything just went way too fast.)

One thing I absolutely loved and adored was Shepherd & Pretty Boy and what was up there. That book I would buy to see what happens!

All this being said, I think the author is off to a great start, I loved the characters I loved the concept of the MC, I just wish that more time and care had been put into fleshing all these things out and that more time had been put into making the timeline believable.

This book was one big cliche. It felt like snippets from every MC book I've read thrown into one, and not in a good way. Ryker felt like a bad-ass alpha wanna-be. Cheesy one-liners. I rolled my eyes so much I got a headache.

I tried but just couldn't take it anymore.

Opposites attract. Ryker is 35 years old and was born into the MC life. He’s drop dead gorgeous and doesn’t have to do much more than smile to get women to drop their panties for him. He’s a commitment phobe who has decided he never wants to marry because of his own childhood. But then again, he’s tired of the club whores and the same old, same old. In comes Elizabeth, a librarian, who chooses the biker bar in a moment of rebellion after serving as a bridesmaid in her ex-boyfriend and BFF’s wedding. She really doesn’t still love the ex, she’s glad she let him go but then again she doesn’t see herself moving forward in her staid, dull, life. Ryker sees her in the bar, puts the move on her expecting to have no problems. But she rejects him and the challenge is on. Ryker has never had a “good girl” and his goal now is to win the challenge. We see a relationship develop with the help of Ryker’s 50 something bad, biker babe Mother who wants her son to settle down with a good girl. We meet Shepherd, the VP and another alpha-hot bad boy, who the author teases us with the possibility of a M/M relationship with a prospect. There’s angst with a plot of the ex-stalking the h and some funny one liners. This was a first time read by a new author for me. I was pleasantly pleased with the book and think there is an opportunity for the author to put out some really good reads based on the characters revealed here. I am an avid fan of MC romances and can say this is one of the better books released in recent months by a first time author. We get a strong h, a strong alpha possessive male who can show his sweet side and a decent story line. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

A great start to this series. It effectively gave insight into the lives of how the MC operates, while taking us on a helluva ride in the hot and sexy erotic romance department.

It doesn't hurt that I love the contrast of the sweet librarian and badass biker falling for one another. Especially when heroine in question is no shrinking violet and definitely when she is putting the totally alpha hero in his place at the same time not making him seem less than a man.

All that and the sex scenes were super hot too.

4 stars

I loved how this book started out! I used to devour MC books back to back but more recently I've been cleansing my palate with YA novels so it's been awhile since I've read a biker book, let alone one I really enjoy. I struggled a bit on rating it 3.5 or 4 stars (in my eyes the .5 difference really does make a difference in how much I enjoyed the book) but ultimately decided I'm comfortable with 4 stars. Overall, it is written well bar some very minor editing issues, the characters were likable and Rykers OTT 'knuckle-dragging ape' more than made up for the plot short-comings.

We meet our MCs when Ryker notices Elizabeth in Perdition bar, a bar owned by the Four Horsemen MC. Elizabeth Williams is a librarian drowning her sorrows at the bar after attending her ex-boyfriend and best friend's wedding, she sticks out like sore thumb in a pink concoction of ugly which she was required to wear as one of the brides attendants. Ryker is a 35 yr old member in The Four Horsemen MC, he's a tatted up rough & tumble, cocky alpha with a fondness for Fat Bottomed Girls. Elizabeth/Pinky wins a bet for a ride on Rykers bike over a game of pool. I really enjoyed the banter when Ryker informed Pinky of the toll price to riding bitch on his bike. This sets up some nice sexual tension through the ride to Rykers house. Thus begins their journey into scorching hot steamy-as-all-hell smexy times. From here onwards the story moved very fast, though there were some drama mostly due to Rykers alphahole tendencies - all were resolved very fast & too easy. I loved the first half of the book but the last 50% felt rushed! I would have loved to see a little more character & plot development. The ending was abrupt with an epilogue at 85%. Not the perfect book but good enough to keep me turning pages and interested enough in following through reading the 2nd installment of this series - Cowboys story. Standalone. Cheating?

Elizabeth finds herself belly up to the bar, in a crappy bridesmaids dress, after watching her once best friend marrying her once boyfriend. Plot twist? It’s a biker bar. Second plot twist, she’s a librarian. I know right!? Who wouldn’t love this?

As far as biker/MC books go, this one is pretty good. It’s not so much dark, as it is old school chauvinist attitude. I liked these two together. She may have looked prim and proper, but she didn’t take any guff either.

Also, the second in command, Shepherd -his is a story I don’t think I have heard before. So I am intrigued for his book to come.

3 Stars I like it!

I don’t read that many MC books so I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this. I really liked it and ended up reading it a one sitting. I loved Elizabeth and Ryker although there were a couple times that I wanted to reach into my kindle and smack him around a little for being such a dickhead. I really liked all the side characters and I can’t wait to read their stories. I couldn’t figure out whether or not the Four Horsemen were criminals, which left a little bit of a mystery for future books as well. My only complaint was the length. I wanted to stay with Elizabeth and Ryker a little longer. I hope to see them again.

3.0 RATING- I only read this book because I wanted to read a later book in the series and happened to have picked this one up for free. It was an okay read. There were a couple scenes where I thought the hero was a dick, pretty standard stuff for a MC read I guess. With all the MC romances available this definitely wouldn't be at the top of the pile for books I'd recommend.

Maybe 3 1/2

If you want lots of sexy times this is the book for you.

I didn't think there was much of a plot and was very quick to jump to the end.

The thing that mad me mad was anytime they got into an argument, he just pushed her over whatever was available and had sex and it just made everything ok. I guess that is why it I called fiction.

Nothing to squeeze about !

Nothing original or unique. I'm not a huge fan of a short read normally. I can say though when they are like this one, I'm a HUGE fan :)
