Sakura Yuino is beautiful, cool-headed, and good at her job, and when she's transferred to handsome, polite, but shy Itsuki Kiritani's department at her office she's determined to do a good job.
Unfortunately for her, Kiritani is so nervous around women he can't help getting "excited" around her. And Yuino finds her personal fetish triggered around her new boss, whose smell is intoxicating to her. After a post-work drunken tryst, they realize that perhaps this arrangement isn't so bad after all...
"If you can handle the spiciness, We Can’t Do [Just] Plain Love offers up complicated and sometimes kinky office romance [...] If you’ve been looking for something that’s “not just plain love,” then this series might be just what you need to read next."— Ilgın Side Soysal, The Comics Beat
This book contains sexual content and is intended for an audience aged 18 years and up.
Dub-con isn’t okay. I get they are pushing one another out of their comfort zones, but it’s all very borderline. The art is confusing too since the copy I have is censored. There’s no plot, it’s just smut.
Oh, boy. This is great so far... extra, extra hotter than before—talking about office–ehem–intercourse. This couple be sure wilding. But I can feel the cliche coming up on the next volume, though with the resurface of Kiritani's past.
4 stars. Would be 4.5 stars, but I'm not a fan of when other characters try shenanigans in order to break up or mess with the main couple (with few exceptions and this is not one of them)
I really did not like this volume in this manga series. It has single-handedly made me want to DNF the series. Still. I don’t have much to say about it.
What I can say is that I thought the two main characters were incredibly toxic in this volume. Both of them have no sense of respect for the boundaries of the other. It gets on my fucking nerves. They treat each other poorly in the bedroom.
In addition, I just think the female lead’s scent fetish is done poorly in this series. It always seems to be an afterthought. Furthermore, to an extent, her fetish even infantilizes her. I don’t like that one bit.
Finally, I also don’t like the love triangle dynamic. They’re trying to add tension with the addition of two characters who are interested in our leads, and it’s just blegh.
So, this is the end of the road for me and this series.
3.75 ⭐️ i liked this volume a bit more than the last as you can see mmc start to develop a crush on the fmc. not a fan of the attempted love triangle and i don’t know what the plan is with the 2 characters that have crushes on the leads are gonna do, but if it leads to miscommunication i’m gonna be annoyed
A great volume. Lots of tension and more conflict in this one. The bringing of the love distractions for both characters while stressful and sometimes annoying made it more interesting with the chaos and tension they caused. Especially with the lady from his past showing up and wrecking everything at the end. I’m curious to see where volume 3 picks up from now.
meow. definitely showing some progression in their relationship and the spice was quite good. I am so curious about how things will pan out with the coworkers, now that there are two of them who seem to want kiritani/yuino...

I'm enjoying this series but each volume ends so suddenly it throws me off. Still looking forward to the next volume and I hope it has a little more development.
Not really enjoying the love triangle (square?) being set up, but I do like a lot of this (especially, as always, the parts where she was being adorably autistic).
Jumped directly from Vol 1 to Vol 2, this kinky but charming series hooked me so much. I love that the characters have layers and it's fun to see their relationship develop in and out of the bedroom. A big bad villain was introduced. Interesting to see how this plays out. Hoping it doesn't detract from the leads.
