Quest for the Scroll

Rate this book
Greetings, fellow searchers for Truth!

Have you ever wondered about the raw, untamed power of faith that pulsed through the early centuries of Christianity? Before grand cathedrals and formalized dogma, there existed an innate connection to the divine, a power so potent it could mend the broken and raise the dead. My first chronicle, Quest for the Scroll plunges you into this very world, a world where miracles walked hand-in-hand with everyday life.

Journey with Magnus, a devoted student of the renowned Saint Martin of Tours, as he safeguards a sacred scroll – a testament to Martin's revolutionary understanding of spiritual healing. This is no mere parchment, but a vessel of divine wisdom, coveted by those who would twist its power for their own dark purposes.

From the hallowed ground of Tours to the mist-shrouded shores of Britannia, Magnus's path is fraught with peril. He finds solace in the gentle heart of Cynde, an innkeeper’s daughter whose spirit shines amidst the encroaching shadows. Together, they flee to escape the persecution of a corrupt bishop, their love a beacon in a world teetering on the edge of chaos. They face treacherous landscapes, ruthless mercenaries, and the ever-present threat of those who fear the true power of faith.
Quest for the Scroll is more than just a story; it's an immersion into the vibrant tapestry of early medieval Britain, a time when the echoes of the apostles still resonated, and the very air thrummed with the potential for miracles. Prepare to be transported, to be challenged, and to rediscover the primal strength of belief. Let the journey begin!

“Quest for the Scroll… is an enlightening read for those seeking a fresh perspective on the intersection of faith and reality. It’s a heroic tale of love, faith, and the infinity of life.” AmericanWritingAwards.com

The Quest for the scroll opens where the Bible begins and follows the life of St. Martin, who continued Jesus’ healing mission in France around 397 A.D. The main character, the courageous young man, Marcus, finds himself at odds with the church because of his focus on how Jesus healed and performed his miracles, and he starts teaching these beliefs to the monks. This makes an enemy of the self-serving Bishop, who jails him and his friend as heretics. Managing to escape the brutal prison, Marcus meets and falls in love with Cynde, an inn-keeper’s daughter, who chooses to accompany him on his dangerous mission. During the many exciting scenes and brushes with death, Marcus attempts to save the original scroll of St. Martin, and the book ends with a furious battle. This is much more than a fast-paced novel, it is a must-read for those who want an in-depth study of the Bible. Highly Recommended.

Full if scripture and swear words

First off, I love novels with scripture, but from the start, this one felt pushy, as if the author (honestly wondering if this was AI written) had a big agenda. Then, characters are swearing at one another. My teens and I were listening to the audio book, and immediately shut it off. If your looking for a clean Christian read, this is not it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Spiritual Fantasy
⭐️ | Christian Fiction

Quest for the Scroll works far better as spiritual fantasy than as Christian fiction. The medieval setting and sense of mystical faith are engaging, but the theology leans Gnostic, with Scripture often applied out of context. Clean, atmospheric, and thoughtfully written—just not theologically sound. Read with genre clarity.
