So I have several issues with this, even though the story per se wasn't badly written and might have scored a 3* rating else.

Firstly, this is now the SECOND story (the other was One more time for Old Time's Sake) carrying such keywords as BDSM, taboo, bondage, alpha male in its title. I'm sorry, but this is keyword stuffing and deception, and even for a freebie this is absolutely not okay.

Secondly, there's a reason why I don't want to read typical contemporary HEA romances. That's that there are far too many tearjerkers among them who recount the rest of the lives of the MCs right to their deaths including all the rest of the clan and whatnot. This squicks me. Badly. I'd never expect this in anything taboo or BDSM.

So, in case this thing here is offered for money any time in the future: it's not what's written on the package.

All that said, I liked Richard. Too bad he was given such an awful deal with this book.

Unexpectedly Good Read

While not at all what I was looking for as romance isn't a genre I choose very often it was a well written, engaging story. For those who enjoy romance novels this book will probably be a 4 or 5 star read.

This book has it's ups and downs.

The beginning was promising, him meeting her while she is living on the street. He rescues her and takes her home with him. He gives her everything she wants and wants her to study.

But when you think things are going to happen with him being jealous and she being young and not knowing about him loving her. He goes away for over 2 years while she finds out she loves him back.

When he finally is back she fights for him and they have a night together.
Followed by a long epilogue about what is happening in their lifes from that moment.

With this title I was expecting a little bit more action in the bedroom, especially since the cover is hinting that way too.
