When Pamela Sloane meets a young Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy, she embarks on a thirty year journey of desire, death, determination and deliverance. This thought-provoking story promises unprecedented access into the otherwise covert and conservative world of military intrigue, hidden desires and secrets, begging to be revealed.

Pamela Sloane and Ella Jean Washington are sisters. They are as different as night and day. While they don't share the same last name, their lives are intricately interwoven. Amid a dangerous breach of government security and fragile family alliances, Pamela Sloane and her husband, Randolph, must do everything in their power to expose military espionage, keep their family together and catch a killer.

Great Debut Novel

Promises is a novel that is a bit difficult to categorize. It's a Christian book with characters who are very real and fallible.. It's a bit of a mystery, it's inspirational, it blends military life with normal family drama. Her characters are complex and once you get to know them, most of them will steal your heart. Her main antagonist is complex enough to keep you wondering until the end. The book ends in a way that leaves you wanting more.

Unexpected turns...

The closer we got to the end the more anxiety I felt to see how it would end... interesting story with unexpected turns. I’m excited to read part two.
