Princess Azadeh, known as the Desert Princess, grew up shunned and feared by her family and people due to her mysterious powers. One day, her father decides to send her to the Kingdom of Eternal Ice to be wed to one of the triplet sons of the werewolf king. Not one of the brothers seems to have a mate bond, yet each of their fates is connected to the mysterious human princess.
To Azadeh’s surprise, the werewolf kingdom isn’t the terrifying place she feared it would be. But since Azadeh arrived in the kingdom, more and more mysteries seem to threaten these lands covered in ice. As she settles into her new home, she discovers more about herself and the power she holds.
Will she be the key to saving the kingdom? Will she find love amongst the wolves?
3.5 ⭐️ Ok I truly think this may a “it’s not you it’s me” situation because all the reviews are so high and every one seems to love the writing style, which was really not for me. Spoilers etc below..

So this had so much potential and I’ve been so excited to read this! This is my first book by the author, and while every character was likable and easy to root for, the premise was super interesting, and the themes of found family, learning to love yourself (flaws and all), and fated vs chosen love were all the ingredients needed for a great romantasy standalone, this one just didn’t hit for me.
Let’s get my biggest gripe out of the way first… the writing style was just not for me. It felt clunky, choppy, and awkward. The dialogue felt super unnatural and clunky (that’s my word for this book I think). The use of extremely modern language took me out of the world often (“super hot mate” “this sucks” etc). It felt at odds with the unique fantasy world. Many times I found myself reading a line and wrinkling my nose in a “no one would say that” or “that’s a weird thing to think” sort of way.
My other biggest issue is just how much the author crammed into this book. While the book felt 100 pages too long, at the same time there wasn’t enough page space to have any real depth for plot/characters. Everything was on the surface and glossed over quickly because so much was happening. The romances felt secondary simply because we didn’t have any space to watch them unfold. The character growth felt surface level because there was no in depth exploration of training or learning. It was talked about, but much was shown because there was just so much.
I loved just about every character but when you do a multi-POV to this extreme we almost can’t love any character because we don’t get enough time with them. I’m sure the author is introducing future story lines/books but it felt like way too much for a single book. I wasn’t overly attached to anyone except maybe Shayan/Tynan and Royan/Simin.
This was a decent story, but the writing style and sheer volume of plot/information made this a difficult read for me. I wanted to love it so badly but honestly it fell pretty flat and had I not loved some of the side characters and wanted to see how things would turn out I would have DNF.

I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book. Isa Rinner is a masterful storyteller, weaving words that grip you from the very beginning and do not let go even at the end. Joining Princess Azadeh on her journey to the Kingdom of Eternal Ice, I felt all her emotions and those of the other characters. Make no mistake, this story is all encompassing and with the number of characters to embrace, the writing makes you feel apart of everyone's tale. There is majestic world building and as the first book in this series, I am left with nothing but anticipation for more. I loved everything about this book and five star highly recommend it and frankly as a reader or fan of paranormal, fantasy romance, you'd be remiss not to read this fantastic book.
This book reads like a Wattpad fanfic wrote by a 15 years old girl. Just trash.
Most of it doesn’t even make any sense, the world building is questionable. We are clearly in an historical setting since there is no technology but people talk in a modern way? There is no court rules and manners as well.
Also, can someone explain to me why would werewolves even ride horses when they can simply wolf out?? And why would they fight in their human forms against mythical creatures instead of their wolves like???? Where is the logic??
It’s safe to say, I’m never gonna read anything else from this “author” and I hope they go to several writing courses because I could have wrote this better ._.
So I think Isa's Silverlake series is a masterpiece. I didn't know if I would like this book as much and boy am I surprised. I adore Aza. I love to see her grow and trust. Each bond she forms is so special. The twists. Can I just say I cried real tears through multiple pages and multiple times. My heart was broken but the love and understanding. The family dynamics and the depth of the characters. Ugh this was such a great book with multiple shifters and humans which I absolutely love.
As a big fan of Isa’s silver lake wolves books, I had planned to read this for a while now and I’m so glad I got round to it, this book and world with this shifters, rules etc is so different to her usual works but different doesn’t always mean bad and in this case especially, the characters Isa has created are brilliant , and the story is spellbinding, shifters, deity’s, prophecies and more! This book will have you hooked and leave you wanting more! Highly recommended
I have read a few books by Isa now and always a good read. This one has many characters to learn. Once in a while I had stop to work out who they were. I put it down to my age 😅 Isa makes you feel like you're there, so creative, which means you need a tissue box ready. Very upset with losing a major character mid way through. Regardless, I would definitely recommend this book.
Such a good read! A different spin on the classic fantasy lore which I really liked! A slow burn in terms of romance but with everything else happening it was really organic and natural, I loved it!! If you have read any of Isa's previous works then you just know how good this will be....if you've not then you're in for a treat!!
Espectacular!
A wonderful story of love, kindness, and unity! Such a positive view of a family and unifying different shifters. It has nice twists and turns and keeps you in your toes.
I'm a huge fan of Isa, and once again, she nailed it with this book! -All the green flags 💚 with our MMC -A sprinkle of spice -Strong family bonds -Chosen mates (a personal fave) -Slowburn The growth of Princess Azadeh is remarkable ✨️ HEA included with amazing world building.
I’ve always been a fan and mostly I read the Silverlake series but I wanted to give this story a chance. It starts a bit slow but I loved every minute of it. Now i cant wait for the sequel! I totally recommend.
This captivating fantasy romance weaves together elements of political intrigue, forbidden magic, and the universal quest for acceptance. The story follows Princess Azadeh, known as the Desert Princess, whose mysterious powers have made her an outcast in her own homeland. When her father arranges her marriage to one of the triplet princes of the werewolf kingdom, Azadeh must face both her fears and her destiny.
What makes this tale stand out is the stark contrast between Azadeh's expectations and reality. Rather than finding horror in the Kingdom of Eternal Ice, she discovers a place where she might finally belong. The author skillfully explores themes of prejudice and acceptance through this reversal—sometimes what we fear most may actually be where we find our true home.
The romance elements are particularly intriguing as the triplet princes lack the traditional mate bond with Azadeh, yet their fates are mysteriously intertwined with hers. This creates a compelling romantic tension that avoids typical werewolf romance tropes. Readers who enjoy both fantasy politics and slow-burn romance will find much to appreciate here.
As Azadeh uncovers more about her powers and the emerging threats to her new home, the story transforms from a fish-out-of-water tale into an epic adventure. The worldbuilding is richly detailed, contrasting the harsh desert of Azadeh's homeland with the crystalline beauty of the werewolf kingdom.
While the "chosen one" narrative isn't new to fantasy, the author brings fresh perspective by placing this princess among werewolves, reversing the usual power dynamics. The mystery surrounding Azadeh's abilities keeps pages turning as readers discover alongside her just how significant her role might be.
Perfect for fans of fantasy romance who appreciate strong character development and immersive worldbuilding. This book promises an emotional journey of self-discovery wrapped in an exciting tale of magic, mystery, and perhaps even true love among the wolves.
What an amazing book!! This book takes you through a journey where you will get to meet the characters on a level where they become part of your click. It describes the characters so well and in detail that you can see the images forming in your head. The main leads, Endellion and Azadeh are strong, confident, vulnerable and conquer so much together. They grow as individuals and grow even stronger together. All the characters play a part in the entire story and make it come together seamlessly from one chapter to the next. You will feel like you are a character in the book when reading this as it continues to draw you in page by page until the end. This book will definitely not disappoint you, if you want a page turner this is the book for you.
This is the first book I've read from Isa Rinner, and I am not disappointed. I'm always nervous when I start reading new authors because I don't know what to expect. My oh my was I not disappointed! I loved that there were a variety of character types: werewolves, humans, witches, etc. The glow up for the female main character was something else 😍 She went from feared by her own to finding her place in the world and finding love. You couldn't help but love the characters and cheer them on like you were part of the story. The legend/myths that intertwined everyone were truly remarkable. This book was just amazing. 10/10 recommended read and will be adding it to my re-read list 😍😍
Previously read and enjoyed the silverlake wolves, so had to read this book. It did not disappoint, I couldn't put it down. From the beginning it introduces you to a new world. Following Princess Azadeh, the Desert princess as she moves to the Ice Kingdom and rediscovers herself and her special powers. Powers which were previously seen as a curse are now growing into something more. The character build up was great, getting to know all the characters. Can't wait to see further books from this series
This book was very intriguing. The whole concept started as this mystery that slowly unraveled. There were surprises and both happy and sad moments. It was amazing to see Asa come out of her shell to show how amazing she is. It’s too bad her own father was too scared and suppressed her. We got to see her bloom into her personal and bring others connections they were missing. It is different from her silver lake series, but there was still mystical magic there. I don’t want to get into too many details, I don’t want to spoil it for others. But this is a definite read if you are a fan.
This is the first book of a new series for the author. Its a fantasy book with shifters, fae, dragons, witches and dieties . The author does a great job with the story building, to really immerse you in this fantasy world. The characters are diverse and entertaining. The main leads are so loveable and you cant help but root for them. It’s definitely the start to a promising series! Its full of action and you definitely want to keep reading!
A Kingdom of Eternal Ice takes place in a separate world from Isa's other books and seems to be more high fantasy than what she's put out so far. The kingdoms are their own unique places with their own history and lore. With her great character building skills she creates a tale filled with werewolves, dragons, and more. It had me begging for each chapter and eagerly looking forward to the next book.

Isa Rinner will pull you into another fascinating shifter world in The Kingdom of Eternal Ice. This story is about Azadeh the human desert princess with her special powers and what happens to her in the Ice Kingdom while staying with the Royal Family. Side stories occur and new characters to fall in love with. You will be left with wanting more.
I don't usually like books that are too overly happy and everybody is nice and gets along. and i don't usually like books with many points of views.
but this book hits all the right notes and it was really nice to read, especially the first half of the book where amazingly I don't dislike the female lead (who typically tends to be whiny and annoying)
Really amazing fantasy romance. It was packed with new shifters, myths, a curse, dietys, witches, and a battle. The characters really weave themselves into your heart. My favorite was a side character, Royan, and his story. I look forward to reading book 2 of this new fantasy world.
With new shifters, mythology, a curse, deities, witches, and a war, it's a fantastic fantasy romance. Your heart is woven with the characters. Royan, a supporting character, and his tale were my favorites. I'm excited to read this new fantasy world's second novel.
Isi knows how to keep a reader captivated. This book was a chef's kiss. Unusual world-building and a beautiful love story. I found no flaws, not that I was looking for any. Very well done
Definitely a different take on Isa's other shifter books, but still, just as good! Great characters. I really enjoyed the love story development between ML and FL, and the overall plot.
Amazing book, one of those you don't want to put down and keeps you awake late at night as you loose track of time, looking forward to more books in this series
