Covers all the basics in a short and well told manner starting from stellar parallax and continuing to the size of the Milky Way and the nature of nebulae to the distances to the latter and from then on pretty much to the big bang theory, inflation and the existence of dark matter and dark energy.
A fun and fascinating historical account of exploring the stars, the title theme of this book seems to get lost by the end. However, I still found it to be informative and enjoyable!
