Wow what can I say? Cade and Gabrielle’s story was so emotional for both of them and also Essie. These two have been tap dancing around each other for a while now and Gabby really doesn’t hide her feelings for Cade, but when she and Essie are taken he begins to realize that she’s it for him and has to do everything he can to get them both back and tell her how he feels. What scares him the most is what she is most likely enduring to protect his daughter. Everyone’s life is in danger, how does he keep Gabby from being hurt again, he failed her once he can’t go through losing another person he loves. The push and pull, deep seeded feelings and the love for an amazing little girl keep these two together or will Cade make the choice for both of them? Another amazing read by this author.

Oh my goodness, bring out your kleenex because this book has everything! This book tugged at my heart so much. This is a continuation of the Charleston-Holloway family mystery, but now it's Cade and his nanny, Gabriellas story. This gripping romantic suspense book had me at the edge of my seat and I could not put this book down. Can Cade keep Gabriella and his daughter safe? Will they find out more about the mystery that plagues the Charleston-Holloway clan? Such a fantastic book, I highly recommend it.

The 4th book in this series did not disappoint! Full of suspense, action and drama.
The story is enthralling me more and more and I so want to know more!
Cage and Gabriella made a perfect couple and with the adorable Essie a perfect family.
I love how the whole family stuck by each other and how loving they all were.
Gabriella and Essie were so brave, I loved the bond they had together.
The drama and suspense were great and the story flowed so well. Overall another brilliant read and as usual the ending left me desperate for the next book!

This is the 4th book in the series and holy smokes it was intense! What Gabriella and Cade had to go through from the beginning of the book to the end was intense. You definitely need to have some Kleenex handy because you will feel all the emotions in this book. I can’t wait to read it again already! I love Essie and how much she loves Gabby. I swear you can feel everything the characters go through like you are actually living it. A phenomenal read!!!

Cade’s worst nightmare came reality and he will do anything for them. The aftermath has both Gabriela and Cade dealing with the issues. Reading their story be prepared for tears, and anger. Yet it’s worth it!

Cade and Gabriella - the Charleston Holloway saga continues when Cade’s daughter, Esther, and her nanny, Gabriella, are abducted. There is plenty of angst and misunderstanding mixed in. It’s really a masterful plot and series really needs to be read in order to grasp all the nuances. It’s definitely a great read!

Vengeful Lies is another wonderful book in this incredible Prey Security series for the Charlie Team. I spent quite a bit of time sitting on the edge of my seat anxiously reading as fast as possible to see what would happen in so many scenes—I believe this is a sign of amazing writing.
Cade is undoubtedly the epitome of the oldest child with his assertiveness and confidence. He certainly has had his share of trauma just like his brothers but with the added heartbreak of losing his wife. His young daughter, Nessie, is the centre of his universe, as it should be. Her nanny, Gabriella, is someone he admires and respects perhaps more than he’d like to but won’t admit it. I like Cade but boy did he make me want to slap him silly in one particular scene—you’ll know!
First off, Nessie is adorable and at times quite sassy, which in its way is just as cute. She is definitely one of the shining stars of this story for me. Gabriella is such a caring and considerate woman that you can’t help but like her immensely. There were times in the book when my eyes teared up reading about what she had been through and was going through.
This has to be one of the slowest burn romances ever 🤣 but necessary too. They are fantastic as a couple if only Cade would get his head out of the clouds.
Be prepared for lots of emotions, both joyful, fearful, angry and devastating. This author knows how to draw readers in so they feel everything deeply. She is not afraid to write realistic scenes where kidnappers do what they would do in real life, the descriptions are not overly graphic, a good balance to give readers a very clear visual.

A Mother’s Love
Growing up, there was a saying the old folks would always say - Momma’s baby, Daddy’s maybe. Meaning, you KNEW the child was the mother’s because she birthed that child but the father wasn’t 100% certain (no DNA testing back then). In the case of Cade and Gabriella, you would think this same logic applies but Gabriella defies that by her pure and selfless acts. She’s the only “mother” Essie knows and we for sure know that Cade is Essie’s father, and we’ll get to more on Cade in a bit. Gabriella has been with Essie since her infancy due to Cade’s wife’s death so soon after Essie’s birth. Since then Gabriella’s has ensured that Essie is cared for, loved, educated, supported, just all the things a good mom does for their child. One day, she and Essie are nabbed and her love for Essie is brutally tested, but to ensure Essie’s well-being and safety Gabriella passes with flying colors. Now Cade, being the good father and provider he is shows up to rescue his girls and also further proves there’s NOTHING he wouldn’t do to ensure Essie’s (and by extension, Gabriella’s) safe return. This book is chock full of excitement, drama, sadness, terror, selfish acts, twists, heartache and love from start to finish. We learn a little more about the events surrounding the Charleston/Holloway parents’ mystery, as well as having an up front viewing of how far selfish people will go to protect their secrets. Buckle up and prepare for a rollercoaster cos this book has it all! Angst, guilt, drama, violence, pain and despair will be with you, and I have to admit to feeling it all!
This is the turn of the eldest brother, Cade. When is daughter Essie and her Nanny Gabriella are abducted by the factions working against their family. Cade finally realises he has a lot of feelings for Gabby.
Gabriella will do whatever she must to protect her young charge, but her abductors are violent and abusive.
Cade sacrifices his all to protect his girls, but in the emotions of the aftermath makes the biggest of mistakes. Will Gabby be able to forgive, or is it too late?
Here we have a hero who makes the most dubious of decisions, albeit for what he feels are the right reasons. I wanted to give him a severe talking too and found myself shouting at the pages as the story unfolded.
Once again Jane Blythe has given us an emotional story filled with dark villains and a slightly tarnished hero. can he right his wrongs? Add in a strong Gabby and a cute as a button Essie and it’s a winning formula, I do hope however that the Holloway guys are less prone to being eejits than the Charlston brothers have been!

Everything he's afraid to have, incase he loses it all over again
Cade is terrified of opening his heart and loving Gabriella incase something happens and he once again loses the woman he loves. But in reality he is being a stupid, stubborn, protective idiot that thinks "he knows best" and ignores everyone else's opinion...even when his heart tells him they are right.
On the plus side, they do get more answers...just not the answers they need!

Jane Blythe you are breaking my heart. This book crushed my soul with the lonely life that Gabriella has lived but also Cade has had his share of heartache. Although Gabriella is the daughter to Essie, Cade’s daughter, there is a very strong attraction between them but neither is willing to act on it. This book had me on tenterhooks from the very first page as Jane Blythe builds the suspense and we are taken on a huge emotional ride with Cade and Natalie. As we know from all of Jane Blythe's books the road to true love is never easy and we are the lucky ones who get to experience this journey with Gabriella, Cade and the entire family. Danger lurks around every corner but Gabriella proves to be a very strong woman when she is forced to do all she can to keep Essie safe. The range of emotions that this book draws out of you only solidifies what a versatile and amazing author Jane Blythe truly is and it keeps you wanting more. So excited for the next book in this fabulous series.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this entire series, and this book is easily my favorite so far. From the beginning, we have been given tantalising hints about the developing relationship between Cade and Daniella, and their romance makes for truly exciting reading. I was hooked from the very first page and couldn’t put the book down.
Jane Blythe excels at blending romantic suspense, and this story is a perfect example of that. She never pulls her punches—while the couple ultimately gets their HEA, the journey to get there is filled with unexpected twists. I especially appreciate how unpredictable the plot is, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
Additionally, the ongoing mystery surrounding the Charleston-Holloway family adds another layer of intrigue to the story. It was exciting to piece together more of the puzzle, and I can’t wait to see how the series unfolds.
This book was an absolute thrill to read, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next instalment!

Vengeful Lies is one of those books that once you start you don't want to put down until the last page is read. It's deeply emotional, harrowing, danger filled and ultimately heartwarming. The Charleston family and Charlie Teams quest to find those responsible for a decade's old crime in heaing its end but not before lives are endangered.
There's an old song whose lyrics, in part, say "you don't know what you've got til it's gone" and they couldn't be more true for Cade Charleston. Gabriella Sadler's been his daughter's nanny since she was less than a year old. Gabby has been a presence in his home and in his life but he chooses to ignore his gowing feelings towards her instead he wraps himself in grief. It takes almost losing the two most important people in his life to finally pull his head out but he grossly mismanages that too. It will take infinite patience and lots of groveling to win the woman he loves. He's up to the task but is she willing to forgive?

Making a choice
Cade and Gabriella. Both are in all the books, but Gabriella is always mentioned in a passing manner as the nanny that everyone knew meant more to Cade and that loved Cade. Now their story starts of with her and his daughter Essie in serious danger and her throwing out everything she can to protect her. Cade makes a major play and the family learns more information in their quest, but with some big costs. Cade makes some stupid decisions and then the rest of the book evolves from that. Essies love of Gabriella is precious and the love and loyalty the brothers and their significant others showed Gabriella moving. I flew through the story and I can’t wait for more to see what happens next for this family, for this couple, with them and Essie and their potential new joy!

Gabriella has never been able to hide her true feelings towards her boss, his entire family has noticed it even if he hasn't. Once Cade realizes he might just lose the two most important people in his life he also realizes his true feelings for Gabby.
Filled with twists and surprises, danger and a happy ending this is the perfect addition to the Prey Security: Charlie Team series. I loved everything about this book and couldn't put it down. Can't wait to see what happens next!

A suspenseful story with a warm happy ending.
Gabriella is the nanny to Essie when they are both kidnapped, and Essie's dad Cade and his Prey Security brothers save them.
Harsh and suspenseful, but dramatic and a great story that I for one, couldn't leave alone. Cade and Gabriella are just starting to grow a relationship after 4 years of her working for him. They both have unrealised feelings for each other but just starting up work out the truth. But that chemistry sure is alive.
So well done. I liked the drama of her getting sick and how Cade tries to make amends for his mistake. It was a fabulous read and can wait for the next! So good!!

Part of Prey Security he and his family are still hunting to solve the mystery of their past. This puts them and their loved ones in danger.
A kidnapping has the team hard at work to not only find the captives but to get them out alive.
This story is emotional as Jane Blythe puts her female character through hell. Gabby and Essie were both so strong as danger surrounded them. Both this woman and child could be Cade's downfall. You have to read this series to find out what's going on in their world.
What a brilliant suspenseful romance this was, I loved them all so far.

Wow! Another FANTASTIC story by Jane! This one is about Cade, Gabby and Essie. Essie is such a sweet and sassy child. Gabby was her nanny for four years and fell in love with both father and daughter. Gabby would do anything to protect Essie. As we read, we learn about Gabby's past and you can not feel heartbreak for her. I think the trauma was worse for her after what Cade did to her. The kidnapping didn't help but betrayal is worse. I am glad the bad men were taken care of and this family finally found their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Jane! I would highly recommend this book! Can't wait for the next book!

So much action in the first two chapters, that I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen. Cade was sitting in his car waiting on John Jones to show up and then he received a text saying he should of backed off. Gabriella and Essie was on the way to swimming lessons and was kidnapped. This opens Cades eyes that he has feelings for Gabby. Essie is such a brave and smart little girl. Gabby will do ANYTHING to keep Essie alive, even though these men are dangerous. So much drama and tears, another great story from Jane.

This series is ridiculously good. This author killed it again with this book. I loved Cade and Gabriella but there was a time or two that I wanted to wring Cade's neck. WOW!! Gabriella and Essie went through h*ll at the hands of madmen that are trying to keep Cade and his siblings from finding out the truth of his parents past. I'm so glad these two got their hea, they deserved it. I absolutely loved this book and the entire series and can't wait to read the next book. Definitely recommend it.

Wow, this series keeps getting better and better.
Gabriella has been the nanny for Cade and his daughter Essie for years. Gabriella loves Essie and would do anything for her, even deny herself the possibility of happiness with Cade. Loving someone can be hard at times
You can never go wrong with a Jane Blythe story especially if you like plenty of action drama suspense and that all important emotional connection between the characters whether that's a new romance,family or found family dynamics throw in a few twist to shake thing's and keep us entertained. This story deals in some very hard topic's but does so in a tasteful way.

This is the fourth book in the Charlie Team series. Esse is such a darling little girl. My heart shattered for Gabrielle. Cade made some regrettable decisions. There is a lot of angst, action and suspense. There was a bit more violence than I cared for, but it’s a well written book. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Jane definitely has you stuck between hating Cade & feeling sorry for him. Gabs absolutely breaks your heart. This family keeps getting hit & it fustrates you. Essie is essentially is the glue & you will adore her sass. Big emotions, loyalty tested, grovelling & vengeance covers it all in this exciting read.

I have been waiting for Cade and Gabby's story. I was already wanting to shake Cade from the little bit I knew from the others’ stories. This story was intense and emotional. Essie is adorable. I absolutely love the found family trope and was not disappointed. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I enjoyed this book just like all the others. Suspence keeps you on the edge of your seat! And keeps you reading till the end. Romance is also good . and there are parts that are real tear jerking moments! What more could ask for except the next book in the series!!
