Search and rescue and love…
A search for the truth…
Libby Tolliver doesn’t hesitate to call Shane Sullivan and his K9 Bryce to help find her missing grandfather. What should be a simple search turns dark when someone shoots at them. Soon Libby realizes that her grandfather hasn’t left of his own accord, someone had taken him away by force. But why?
Shane Sullivan always expects the worst of every situation and searching for Libby’s grandfather is no different. As his K9 Bryce follows the scent trail, danger stalks them at every turn. All too soon he realizes secrets from the past have risen to the surface. Can he and Bryce keep Libby and her grandfather safe long enough to have a future?
I am a big fan of books that include and feature service dogs. This series does a great job of that,
Libby's grandfather is missing and she knows just who to call.. Shane Sullivan and his K9. As these two friends work together to locate Libby's grandfather and unravel the mystery surrounding him and his disappearance, they encounter danger and find their feelings for each other changing step by step.
I have enjoyed other books in this series, but I did not enjoy this one. The pace is too slow, the female character was quite annoying to me, and there just was not much happening. I got to the half way point and I just could not finish it.
I enjoyed the growth of Shane's character and how he got over his past as he worked with Libby to find her grandfather. I couldn't imagine how scary that would be to come home and find your grandfather missing! Where to even start looking? I always put myself in these situations when I'm reading a book like this! It would be very scary, and I'd be so worried! I'm glad that Libby called the Sullivan K9 search and rescue to have Bryce, the K9, start trying to find her missing grandpa. Libby wasn't my favorite female character in this series but I'm glad she was able to turn Shane's character around! He was "doom and gloom" at first! The reason for the missing grandfather was quite interesting, and I enjoyed the basic story but it was on the lighter side as far as action. I will move on to the next book in the series and continue to read the rest of the books! I always enjoy learning more about the K9s!
He finally believes that everything happens for a reason
And whilst he will always grieve for those he has lost, Shane realises that had things not happened the way they did, then he wouldn't be here now and able to help Libby and her grandfather. She inadvertently helps him see that moving on doesn't mean forgetting and the heart is big enough to love many people, in many different ways. Their love isn't an explosive chemistry that is fighting for attention from the first second, it is a quieter, slow burn that sneaks up in them when they least expect it...but that doesn't make it any less beautiful. It's a warm, enduring love of acceptance and hope. Bryce is obviously a hero, we wouldn't expect anything less from a Sullivan Rescue dog. We also meet more of the Sullivan siblings here too, including Alexis whose book is next.
Libby goes to her grandfather's house only to find him missing. So she calls her old classmate Shane and his search and rescue K-9 Bryce to help her find him. But when someone starts shooting at them they know this is more than that her grandfather wandered away. Can they figure out what is going on and find her grandfather alive? Read this to find out.
The pace is breakneck and the tone is intense with an action and character oriented storyline that has a few kisses. The characters are vibrant and engaging. The Christian ideals move the story along. This is a great continuation of the series.
plot: good/interesting hero: good heroine: disliked immensely. whiny and ungrateful. for me the only redeeming quality was that her favorite pizza was pepperoni and mushrooms. dog: awesome. writing: decent, but a LOT of repetition in phrases, words, and thoughts.
also can the dogs please stop "regurgitating" whatever their toy reward is? there's a better way to say it that is less reminiscent of puking. thanks. :)
I will still read(actually listen to) the rest of the series. This one was just a bummer because the storyline was actually really fascinating.
Libby Tolliver calls Shane Sullivan and his K9 Bryce to help find her missing grandfather. Shane is one of the large Sullivan family who after their parents death run a Search and Rescue business with their dogs.
The mystery is light and even though they are shot at and Libby was kind of a whiner the story was okay. The missing grandfather was a surprise once they found him.
Christian suspense and has mystery and a touch of romance, just kissing and developing a closeness. There is an epilogue with HEA.
This is a good story.. the characters are believable how they help each other. Laura Scott does a great job with her books. I have read many of them and enjoyed them all
This was a great read involving grumpy/sunshine. When Libby's grandfather goes missing, she calls her old classmate Shane and his K9 Bryce to help search for her grandfather. This was a suspenseful read with secrets, danger, and a well-written plot.
Ha ha. And a few less winks of sleep. Now that I’ve finished the book, I’ll go to sleep now. After letting everyone know this story is worth their time. Get it! Read it! But don’t count on sleep til you’re done! Lol. Zzzzzzzzz.
What a great addition to the Sullivan series. The suspense in Scott's latest novel made the plot exciting and page-turning. Looking forward to her next book in the series!
This book is fast-paced and intense. I am enjoying this series of the Sullivan K-9 Team, and like watching each of the family members use their skills to solve each mystery while finding their HEA. Good mystery as Shane and Libby strive to find Libby’s missing grandfather.
I'm enjoying this series, I deducted a star because of the repetitive sentences. So happy that Shane opened his heart to love again. This story touches on kidnapping, attempted murder, and a cold case.
I really enjoyed this story. It got off to a slow start compared to others in this series but in the end it was a really good story. Lots of mystery and intense moments throughout the story. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
