This was a pretty good read for anyone learning more about the goddesses. The first part gave an intro and overview to the goddess path while the second part went into detail on each goddess. I learned a lot. I don't worship goddesses so i didnt read about every single one but this book did a good job for someone interested in worshiping goddesses from showing you how to set up an altar and providing journaling questions for the solitary practitioner to discussion questions and group rituals

Excellent reference book on the goddesses in various cultures. However, I'm not a fan of worshiping goddesses for material gain, which this is about. I find the approach dishonoring--completely antithetical to the feminine divine and what She offers us. Our material conditioning has us looking to exploit everything, including that which stands for selfless giving instead of taking.

From an author among the vanguard of the revival of goddess religion. Lovely, lyrical myths mixed with straightforward spiritual practices. The book is lovely in the tactile sense as well: the cover is a bursting, ripe pomegranate with embossed golden borders.

Each chapter discusses a different Goddess and has ideas for honoring them and journaling suggestions. I don't agree with all her interpretations, but all in all it seems well-researched and a nice resource. Good variety of Goddesses from different cultures.

Really enjoyed this book, despite the occasional iffy history/myth facts. Wish there was more Goddesses in it. I appreciated it's tone written for both types of Pagans; theistic people who interpret them as real and for non-theistic people who see them as psychological archetypes.

Psychology meets history, meets mythology, meets spiritualism.
Great journey.

Niezły punkt wyjścia do eksploracji kobiecych archetypów.

Spends almost a whole book describing different goddesses. A great resource for worshiping a goddess because each goddess is covered in only a few pages

Monaghan has long been recognized as a leader in the Goddess community. Her books are always thoughtful and inspirational, as is this one. I read this many years ago as I was beginning my own journey on the Goddess path, and found it enlightening and very helpful.
