OK, so where do I start? Rain is a very talented thief who is part of a thieving ring. Malakai is a frightening billionaire and the head to a very elite secret society. Their lives tangled together when Rain shows up at one of his parties to steal an item very dear to him. from the moment they meet there’s an absolute pull of attraction that neither of them can deny. the rest of the book is just a push and pull of their attraction and of Malakais obsession. he ends up being absolutely obsessed with Rain and shows up everywhere she goes. She isn’t able to successfully finish a job even once after meeting him because he always shows up. rains ex and the leader of the thieving ring, Damian is your typical controlling sleaze ball POS that thinks he owns everything. he keeps pushing rain to complete the job inadvertently pushing her further towards Malakai. The obsession from Malakai towards Rain is absolutely unhinged. He is absolutely obsessed and in love with her and she fights her feelings the entire book. the spice is a slow burn, but once it gets there it’s perfect. The ending is a little gut wrenching. Honestly, the book kind of gives me Lucifer vibes between Lucifer and detective Decker. A little spicier, a little less musical.lol! Just replace the detective with a thief and the show tunes devil with a very broody billionaire devil and you’ve got deadspire. Now, the downsides. I got to read this as an audiobook so I listened to it and honestly, the narrators kind of ruined it for me. I listened to it three times just so I could get the entirety of the book. The male narrator is just flat. There’s no emotion no excitement. It’s just monotone. There’s a point where he’s supposed to growl and there’s nothing, there’s absolutely no emotion in his voice honestly, the female is the same as well. There’s really no emotion in her voice either there’s also a couple mispronunciations of words. I love the story itself, but the audiobook felt a little lacking.

I loved Deadspire, it was so eloquently written. Really good tension and slow burn spice, definitely spicy. I can't wait to read more of her work!

What to say about this book….it will draw you in just like Malachi. It’s a slow burn for spice, but definitely spicy. Who knew the devil could be so charming and fall in love. Can’t wait to read the next book.

I am sadden by the ending, however this is a possible option for book2. I loved how Rain was defiant through most of the story line and how Malicahi was also able to grow.
