This book shows how the discovery of the asteroids Ceres, Pallas Athena, Juno, and Vesta coincided with the shift of a woman. The creating, supporting, nurturing aspect held by the goddess Ceres, the universal mother, brings us to how we feel nurtured and how we function with our roles of mother-child. She embodies the principle of unconditional love. Pallas Athena is our Warrior Goddess, a woman in a man's world, carrying the principle of creative intelligence. Vesta, our goddess of Focus and Commitment, is our High Priestess. Juno, the Queen of Heaven and Divine Consort, is our capacity for meaningful relationships. Understanding the themes that each goddess holds enriches our understanding of that function and expression in our lives.

Super helpful resource on asteroids and other minor planetary bodies that don't usually get coverage in larger, more comprehensive astrology texts. This book includes in depth explanation as well as interpretation techniques. This is not a resource you'd read front to back in a sitting, but more of a reference book when covering certain topics in a natal chart. Definitely one all astrologers should have on their bookshelf!
I had no doubt this was going to be a very good read. It covers information on the main asteroids, name origin, mythology, their meaning in signs, houses and aspects with the planets. As expected for an one volume book it only dips a toe in the ocean of the astrological and psychological meaning of these asteroids. It is a pity this is one of the few books on the subject. I’n certain I will come back to it time and again.
Amazing! Such great info on the 4 asteroids: myths, through each sign and each house and aspects w each planet. I would have liked more about Lilith and Chiron especially, and I wonder if this author has written about Eris since she was discovered. Overall great resource <3
given that it’s now almost 2022, i think that the sometimes intensely gendered imagery of this book can feel a little limiting (though she does establish the entire time that it is more a term than the binary meaning of femininity, and we all have femininity to access) but is still incredibly insightful. I especially enjoyed the through line between the original myths and significations and how those changed over time to create the personas we think of as the asteroid goddesses.
A basic overview of the main asteroid Goddess' myths, along with each asteroid in the signs, houses and aspects. Also includes a handy ephemerides for 16 asteroids, from 1930 to 2050.
A worthy addition to any Astrology library, yet it could have been more detailed, especially in the information on signs, houses and aspects.
I didn't read the whole thing. Skipped around based on the asteroid placements in my own natal chart. Interesting, and accurate, as is the case with all things recommended to me by my astrologer friend.
Great book laying out the value of the 4 major asteroid goddesses and some minor ones too. Good for anyone interested in Juno, Vesta, Ceres, and Pallas Athene. Goes over meaning of each of four astroids in each house, sign, and aspect to each planets and other 3 asteroids.
Excelente para quem se interessa sobre astrologia e mitologia, trazendo conhecimentos sobre asteróides e a forma como os mitos e os astros influenciam a nossa vida, seja individualmente, seja no coletivo. Dos melhores que li nos últimos tempos.
In insightful book about the origin of the goddess culture. I found it an interesting read and have gained a better understanding of issues between male and female origins.
incredible and pivotal for astrology lit and self-discovery modalities. I've been using asteroids in my readings to add a new layer and dimension to interpretations — and the accuracy blows my mind.
This study of the astrological uses of asteroids relates individual asteroids with the social history and mythology related to their names. For example, the largest asteroid/planetoid Ceres is interpreted as a person's nurturing urge. George goes into detail about the way the goddess Ceres has been viewed since ancient times and shows, in general, how the asteroid integrates into traditional horoscopes. She does the same with also-prominent asteroids Pallas, Juno and Vesta, and touches on several other, lesser-known asteroids.
ASTEROID GODDESSES is a good starting foundation. This second edition was issued in 1990, and I think the field would benefit now from detailed modern studies. The only asteroid I know of on which this has been done is Juno.
Very good explanation of asteroid delineation. Demetra George's condensations of Greek goddess mythology is just wonderful. Although some astrological schools are moving away from what's called cookbook astrology, this book contains just enough to put a person on the right track.
I found the descriptions in here very hard to follow, as if the authors did not remember what point she was trying to make. All the archetypes seemed to blur into one. The book started off great and then really, really flagged.
Asteroid Goddesses shook me out of the illusion of the world we live in and allowed me understand women and our relationships with each other differently.
The asteroid ladies are an excellent addition to traditional astrology, much needed, and as far as I can tell, work very accurately. Highly recommended.
This will definitely give you a clearer interpretation of some of the most significant asteroids in astrology up to this date. A fun, feminist-leaning read.
A really great depiction of the asteroid mythology, and how each Goddess presents herself through each astrological sign and house. Perfect for astrology nerds like myself!
