This is the 9th Judith Gould novel I have read. I enjoyed the first eight... Some more than others, her first novel Sins was the best.
Those earlier novels were full of family drama and intrigue and a bit of mystery.
This novel was just a watery romance novel. So little to keep me interested. No big plot twist no epic story.
Two unlucky in love people fall in love. Their previous partners have done the dirty on them and they find love in each other's arms after literally crashing together in the first chapter.
I don't think I will be reading any more Judith Gould novels if they are anything like this one. Which is a shame as I did quite enjoy her earlier novels.
Although different from my usual reads, this book was okay. A story about a man and woman who are looking for a second chance at love find it within the revocations of an old house made into new. This was written in a very real setting with no major drama but with just enough realistic drama to catch your interest.
I just didn't enjoy it. Very predictable, too much lack of drama, and -i rarely say this, but- it was really boring, especially the first half of the story. As for the other half, there's nothing but romance. Like TOO much romance! Let alone the cheesy dialogues... I know it's a love story but still! I must say that I love reading romance, and I have never judged a book so badly, but that's my opinion.
This book is simply A SIMPLE one to read. Its not a over types or exaggerated read but a lovely story of how life finds it way in love. it was a light hearted one.
I really liked this book. It was a sweet and easy read. The only thing I wish were different was the way Sam handled his wife's suicide. I think he should have been more upset by the situation. Maybe more emotion would have made it seem more real. It was too "convenient" and I think it would have been more difficult to deal with in reality.
It's a good romance but I was a little disappointed with the lack of drama. Not that there wasn't any at all, there was, but just when I thought something drastic was going to happen everything was resolved in no time flat. Which is good for the main characters but it just seem too easy, too simple.
Loved the story! The plot development was amazing too, but I struggled a little with the style of the author. Too many details, although may be needed for the book itself as there is a renovation going on, but still it is not exactly my type of read. But overall it was beautiful!!
It was a great book, couldn't put it down. The way the author describes the characters and their relationships is fantastic, definitely I would recommend this book to anyone.
