After being dumped by her boyfriend right before their Santa Cruz getaway, Melissa Foster decides to go on the vacation alone. Rest, relaxation, and most of all--no men.
She wasn't expecting the owner of the property she's renting, wealthy entrepreneur Logan Mason, to be the hottest thing she's ever laid her eyes on. Or that he'd look at her like she was his sole reason for existence.
Is Logan the man she's been waiting for, or will their passionate romance end in heartbreak?
Waiting For You is part one of the Beautiful Surrender series.

Ava Claire is a sucker for Alpha males and happily ever afters. When not putting pen to paper or glued to her Kindle, Ava likes road tripping, karaoke, and vintage fashion.
Got an ARC version of Ava Claire's Waiting for You book that's included in this box set...
I got to say, it was somehow short I had a few initial musings of my own on this.
Although it painted Logan as a dominant person, I can't quite grasp how Melissa was portrayed as a submissive since according to the narrative of Melissa's and Jason's story, she was demanding in the bedroom, to which Jason cannot provide.
Still, the short story was ok, but it's not the same as with Ava Claire's previous works.
Too short to connect to the characters. I understand there is more to this story in the other parts, but breaking it up into such small parts doesn't make sense from a reader's perspective. If I can't connect to the characters, I'm not going to keep reading.
In this book we meet Melissa and Logan. Melissa has just broken up with her boyfriend, she is understandably heartbroken. Melissa believed that she and Jason would be together all of their lives. They grew-up together and eventually fell in love. Melissa believed that it would just be a matter of time before he popped the big question. However while Melissa was planning for their future Jason was finding a way out the door. So while heartbroken Melissa starts to realize this really is for the best. Problem with this is she has already paid over $800.00 for a trip to Costa Rico. After talking with a friend Melissa decides to take this trip alone figuring there is no reason to just throw this money away plus it will give her time away to mend her heart. When she gets to the cabin that she rented she finds the landlord outside in the shower and she can't help but feel something.
Logan is intrigued by his new tenant but refuses to push her for more than she is willing to give. However in a short amount of time there is this heat that can not be ignored between them. All of the things that Melissa wanted from a man Logan is willing to give her in spades. The thing is he needs her willing and open to the idea of letting him have all the control of the situation.
This book has a few ups and downs that will have you hooked on this book. It is not a stand alone but part of a series. This book does end on a cliffhanger. However having said that this book will have you screaming for more. I would recommend this book.
Even though I haven't actually read all of these stories I feel it necessary to give 5 stars since Ava Claire wrote such a tasty treat...
Waiting for You was a short novella that leaves you wanting more... It gave me all kinds of pleasure|!!!!
It starts off intense with a solid mixture of every emotion just in the first chapter. You're not let down at all from there. This is seriously a swoon worthy novella. Keeps your private parts throbbing as all of Ava's novels seem to have the ability to do.
It was a short read only taking an hour or so (fast reader) but you were able to be completely engrossed in all the characters... I felt hate right away but it subsided after the first chapter... You were left with sadness, laughter and a whole lot of Alpha... Logan is really melt in your mouth kind of sexy that you want to have take you time and time again.
This novella leaves you with a feeling of being full on chinese food... You're really full but in a little while could have another serving but if you couldn't you'd be satisfied anyways.
I am one of "Ava's Review Crew" so I was given an advanced copy of this novella. I will definetely purchase the series to read the other novellas. I'm curious now.
What would be really cool is if a few author got together and wrote the same novel together, same characters same story just different input each chapter being better than the rest... hint hint. ;)
I realize that this is part 1 of a 5 part series, so let's address that first. There wasn't enough here to make we want to read part 2. There's really no cliffhanger, and, we don't know enough about the man with two first names, Logan Mason or is it Mason Logan (I don't recall and I JUST READ THIS BOOK), to make me care.
I felt for Melissa when she's dumped by a dude who is clearly cowardly and then has the gall to say that they're incompatible after they'd been together for so long. I think this was supposed to be the author leading us into the idea that Mel is a submissive, but it wasn't really clear.
I have an extreme interest in Melissa's entry into a submissive "relationship" even though I felt that she didn't ask enough questions of either her ex-bf or the new dude to make me feel comfortable. I found this whole thing curious. BUT, I feel the stronger BDSM storylines out there seem to work best when there's established trust between the couple. How can knowing this dude for all of 2 hours (with little conversation) be sufficient? It's just enough to look into his eyes and know?? If found this hard to believe since she was in that relationship with that dude that she thought she knew but who couldn't please her. The implication is that Jason is not a Dominant, but then again, I'm not a submissive so what would I know?
I was given a ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
We meet Melissa a woman desperately trying to spice up her love life with her boyfriend. She had the perfect night set up dinner, a surprise trip, sexy lingerie and she notices something is off with Jason. Little does she know he is about to drop a HUGE bomb on her and turn her world upside down. Things end and she decides she needs a break away from life and men. She takes the trip she had planned for them both. She runs into the sexy and tantalizing Logan Mason ( the landlord) she instantly finds him VERY attractive and finds it hard to keep her thoughts clean. Logan is into a different life style than she is used to and he really would like her to be a part of it. Can they work out an arrangement that benefits both their needs and lifestyles? you will have to read to find out! it was a great and short read! perfect for the weekend or the beach! ;-) sexy and steamy. I am so happy to have Ava writing another series like her Submissive series. I missed Jacob and it was nice to have that feeling back. Looking forward to what else she has in store for Logan and Melissa!!
"What bowels of Google gave you that gem?" ( I laughed sooo hard! )
That was a harsh breakup…I mean if he has known he wanted someone else for weeks he should have ended things sooner, and then he has the audacity to text her he’s sorry?! Mel is in need of a fantastic time in Santa Cruz…yes she does.
Well that was a nice welcome if I’ve ever seen one. Just going to say this…with a welcoming committee like that…Jason WHO??? She Mel needs to be careful what she wishes for…she wanted Jason to be more aggressive and she has found that in Logan which obviously scares the hell out of her. ”C’mere I have something that will work wonders.” “Is it your penis?” Best conversation ever….LMAO. I had to giggle at this: I, like most women, had heard of Fifty Shades of Grey. I'd even sampled it before I put it aside. It was all... too intense. That book was so NOT intense…but it made me giggle none the less.
After finishing this short story, I’m hoping there is more to this story in the future…it was a great start and I has a great background for an amazing serial. With that said I really liked this story the characters were well fleshed out…we got a great amount of content in a short amount of time. I would definitely recommend this others to read and as always I am a big fan of Ava Claire’s work.
Writing: Don’t remember there being any mistakes. Decent writing. 1st person narration. 1 POV.
Characters: The main character is Melissa. Her very soon ex is Jason. Her best friend is Stacia. The owner of the vacation rental is Logan. Not much else to tell about the characters, the story didn’t really delve into their personalities. No believable chemistry between characters.
Storyline: Melissa is dumped, she leaves for a 3 day vacation and sleeps with someone else. THE END…literally. The beginning started out pretty good. I was hooked. But once Melissa reached Santa Cruz, the story reached warped speed.
The events were so unbelievable. This book is the very reason why I have such a problem with novellas or short stories. I cannot connect with them at all.
Erotic Scenes: I’m assuming the rest of the books in this series will transition into BDSM. This book had one vanilla scene.
Overall, I did not like this book. Two stars for the beginning of the story hooking me.
I really enjoyed this book, I think Jason is awful and I hope it doesnt work out with the other and he tries to come back and Melissa shoots him down. I love how we are introduced to Logan for the first time, Ava's writing easily had me seeing what Melissa saw and that is one hot and sexy guy. I laughed when he thought she had been with a Dom before and that she was submissive, her reaction, and her saying about Branding was so funny. I will say I thought it was a little quick how they had such intense feelings for each other already, I thought it would build up over time but wow he broke all of his rules he has followed for years after only knowing her for what 2 days? That was hard for me to wrap my mind around but I just accepted it and moved forward with the story. I like when earlier in the story Logan was trying to act all stern and serious and he said he did not cuddle but by the end of the book he was cuddling with her. Curious to see where this goes.
Personally I'm not a big fan of serials, but this one was free and the premise was intriguing. I actually really enjoyed reading it. Melissa is a fun combination of good girl and sassy. And Logan is everything you would want in an alpha male if that's your thing. There were several parts where I laughed out loud and several more that had me smiling.
I like the idea of Melissa exploring her sexuality with someone who gives her the freedom to be herself instead of shaming her for the things that turn her on. There could have been more character development and I would have expected the sex scenes in an erotic romance to be longer. But I kept turning the pages and I'm interested in reading more.
Oh, and cool cover. The one nice thing about a serial is that it isn't a huge time investment - good for when you want a quick read. I thought the story ended at a satisfying spot.
Melissa wants something more in her sex life but her boyfriend Jason doesn't feel comfortable giving her what she needs so she adjusts for him. Just as she makes a big romantic gesture, he dumps her. She wisely goes away for the weekend, the weekend she planned for the two of them. I need to say that I love Melissa and her ability to just say what is in her head without a filter … hilarious! When she arrives at her destination she gets the best greeting possible from the landlord Logan Mason. From here the sparks begin and we get pulled into a new and exciting relationship. Ava Claire delivers again with a new duo that pulls you in and leaves you wanting more. Very curious to see what will happen next for Melissa and Logan.
This book was a very short read. It's part of a series. Here's my thing with series, I still feel like the story should engage and flow like a normal book, especially since the book continues on to the next book in the series. This book went from 0 to 100 really quickly. More depth about the characters, would be more helpful, so the reader can understand why they are the way they are. True background helps readers feel connected with the characters. I really can't say too much about the plot of the book b/c it I did it would give it completely away. I liked the direction the story was going but the lack of character development threw me off!
I read this book in a box set "It's in his kiss. I wanted to let Ava Claire know that I love the story of Logan and Melissa in Waiting For You and that I would love for her to continue writing their story. I wasn't expecting the D/s twist when I started reading it but that made it even better. I would love to see Logan train Melissa to be his submissive and to see them get their HEA. Throw in a showdown with Logan and Jason and Melissa and Jason that will be fun. Logan and Melissa one of my new favorite couples. Happy writing can't wait!!!
Melissa Foster is a woman burnt by a relationship gone wrong, her ex stated he wasn't satisfied by the way their sexual relationship was developing, Melissa wanted more, she wanted something more needed something more from her partner. Broken from her failed relationship she decides to go to on a holiday on her own and finds Logan Mason a wealthy man who knows what he wants and he wants Melissa, but only if she begs for it.
This book is ok, it's not what I was expecting but that's not a bad thing.
I received an ARC of this book. I have been looking forward to finish reading Logan and Melissa's story.
I have to say I was disappointed. I felt this book was rushed. The whole book touched on different aspects Logan not the father, wants revenge, break up, and then everything is ok. And that was how the book read to me, barely touching the topics.
Oh wow Ava Claire has done it again and given us a very sexy Dom called Logan.
Logan and Melissa have a sizzling attraction towards each other. He's a Dom and she's....well she's not sure she wants to be labelled a sub but she definitely wants a man to take control, after splitting up from a very weak man.
This is a teaser...I need more Logan and Melissa!!
3 stars for making me want to buy the next installment. But very disappointed in lack of character development. Spoiler: One minute her BF breaks up with her and the next minute she's cuddling with another man, who btw says he doesn't "do cuddling". I think the author could have written better in making us feel a connection. I didn't feel one at all.
Poor Melissa, dumped by her boyfriend right before their Santa Cruz dream getaway. But don't worry for her. Upon arrival at getaway, she walks right into a naked man showering in his backyard. It turns out to be her landlord and he's one hunk of a man.
Melissa resists her attraction, but soon enough, the fireworks start and she is taught a lesson in submission.
Oohwee Ava this is just what I needed as I was having withdrawals from one of my favorite couple's J & L! ;) I have to thank you for giving us Logan and his fine ass (pun intended) along with Mel with her fiery-self! Now I'm on to book 2!
Wow that was really hott. Melissa and Logan had an instant attraction and boy could you feel the sexual tension. I felt so sorry for Melissa at the start of reading this being let down by her boyfriend but I think he did her a favour by ending things. They obviously weren't sexually compatible.
Enjoyable short read, but due to it being so short the characters and plot towards the end got a little bit rushed. I guess it is part of a series, so maybe it makes more sense after reading the next one...
