MY VALENTINE’S DECEPTION

✔️ Best friends to lovers
✔️ Fake dating
✔️ One bed
✔️ Angst, passion, and secrets

Mia swore she’d never fall for a friend again—not after the last heartbreak nearly destroyed her. But when she needs a last-minute date for a high-stakes Valentine’s event, who better to turn to than her best friend, Gio? It’s just for one night. Just for show. Just… harmless fun.

Except Gio has been in love with Mia for years. And one reckless, off-limits kiss shatters the illusion of "just friends" forever.

Now, there’s no going back. The chemistry between them is electric, the desire undeniable—but so are the secrets Gio never meant for Mia to uncover. Because loving her? That was never the risk. Losing her? That might be inevitable.

When the lies unravel and the past comes knocking, will their love survive—or was this romance always meant to be a deception?

Inspired by the mysteries of "One Thousand and One Nights," this urban romance weaves a tale of passion and peril. Will their staged love become a magical reality, or will their deception unravel under the Valentine’s Day spell?

To start with the positive I like the multiple diverse characters. However my praise for this book ends there.

The writing was cluttered and confusing. There where quite a few grammatical errors making it hard to read as well as random pov changes in random paragraphs and sentences with no rhyme or reason let alone warning making the text even more disjointed and harder to follow.

Since this book is a novella it struggled with the passing of the story making the character arc and romance fall flat. Gio seemed obsessed with the idea of Mia and not the real women wile Mia read as just using Gio as a rebound and a last choice partner instead of actually being in love with her.
