Well I might like my short stories but I should be wary if freebies--many of them or good, but some I just don't like/can't get into--and that was the case with this one.
It didn't hold enough romance for me. I get lust and that seemed what this was but the fact that they'd known each other three days and had sex all of those three days and suddenly wanted to be together...it just didn't ring true to me. Added in that erotica isn't my favourite genre and the spelling of "come" as "cum" pees me off, I wasn't exactly enjoying it that much.
The crime side of the story didn't hold my attention either, and I felt the ending was rather sudden.

Another case of two men thinking with their dicks and practically going at it within minutes of meeting on the job site. Really? It's like mates but in a contemporary. It was okay but just moved way too fast with Chase mooning about being love and Cameron leaving on day 2 of their acquaintance.
Not for me, but if you like manly men going at it, it might be the book for you.

Chase Black and his team of mercenaries have been tracking a human trafficking ring, just when they think they got their man the FBI makes a mistake. When Chase sets eyes on Agent Sexy (Cameron) he realizes he just met everything he's ever wanted in a man. Cameron can't keep his eyes off Chase.
There is an insta love factor in this one that was the one thing that turned me off. Within hours of meeting, not many words exchanged and they were kissing, it just seemed off to me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Cameron and Chase's story, it's sexy and hot, the chemistry is chart topping. I just wish there was more plotted around the human trafficking story and Angelo.

An interesting Start to a New Series
This book was a quick action-packed, suspenseful read. I t can be read in just a couple of hours. In the book we meet Chase, definitely an alpha male, who is a member of an elite mercenary group, and Cameron, also all alpha, who is a member if the FBI, they end up working on the same case and it was love at first sight. Their chemistry is undeniably electric. There is plenty of hot steaminess. between our characters. That all being said the whole thing is a bit rushed, which I'm sure was necessary for the length of the book, but it detracted a bit from the read. I am

First off I give this book 3.5 stars
This story follows Chase and Cameron, Chase is a mercenary and Cameron is an FBI agent they are working a case together and find that they can’t keep their eyes off each other. I Enjoyed the story between them it was very sweet. However I also would have liked a little more story. I felt we were just getting to know the characters and then the story ended. I know that the rest of the series follows the same people throughout but I still would have liked a little more character building in this book.

This short MM story has two hot alpha males throwing their lot in together when the pull is too much to resist. It is fast and furious, much like the highly intense jobs they do as mercenary and FBI agent. There were times when I felt the conversation was a bit too formal, but I did enjoy the storyline. Look forward to the next in the series.

Love, danger, and two hot guys. What more could you ask for. Chase leads a group of mercenaries who have tracked down a human trafficker. Cameron is the lead investigator from the FBI on the case. Catching the trafficker, his cash, two of his buyers, and rescuing his victims turned out to be a little more than either man anticipated. Back to square one the two men now must work together to close the case. Can they do it without falling hard for each other? Can they live with a few days or weeks together and then let it all go? A very engaging short novella. I look forward to reading the next installment.

Wow. I rarely give a book 2 stars, but ugh. Read like it was written because the author couldn't exceed a word count. Short, choppy, telling and chock full of errors. They just meet and the first kiss is in front of somebody. Then they jump into bed and have sex. The sex was mediocre, the best scene was in the bathroom and should have been about two pages longer. Come on, auth! Draw me in and make me feel these guys. I usually don't mind insta-lust, but this was sickly.

Short read that can all be read in a couple of hours. It felt like the action/suspense elements were resolved to easily/quickly throughout and it was a bit of a let down. Overall an okay read, and as I read an ARC I hope that the grammatical errors have been corrected.

Could be more
Even when it's 50 some pages it was still rushed through. One a cop, one a Mercenary, both alpha and both are toppers. They'll but more then heads on this case with a human traffickers and his millions.

FourandHalfStarsOk, so not much is hotter than Mercenaries, coming in to the rescue. And this book had that and then some. It was a great fast, quick read.
It was a story of love at first sight, which normally I like a little more to them falling in love, but it worked really well in this story. The plot had tons of action and suspense.
Loved Chase, he seemed to have tons of charisma and power. The relationship that was developing with Chase and Cameron was explosive.
I think that this is going to be a good series to follow. If you like quick reads with steamy sex, then this is for you.

I liked the premise behind this book.. Mercenary falls for FBI agent. While the writing was quite good, I found the characters a bit unbelievable. Without any sign that Chase was gay or even interested, Cameron kissed him with I didn't think really worked. And then they went on as if it hadn't even happened until they were banging in the hotel room later.
The feelings were super rushed as in they were both feeling/thinking like they wanted to be together forever when they knew absolutely nothing about one another except their names. Insta love at it's best and the one thing I have a really hard time with.
The plot itself was actually quite good. I think it could've used expanding upon and more showing instead of telling to draw the reader in a bit more, but over all not bad and the saving point of the book.
It really could use another pass by an editor as there is questions that didn't have question marks, repetition of phrases (i.e. 'my money is on the money. Angelo loves his money), there is an abundant use of adverbs at times too (Knocking, Opening, Walking... all in a row).. There is also a few typos like Allen is spelled Alan at one point and long distance is long distant. NOTE: This is editing errors, not the writing itself.
Overall, not a bad story, I would certainly read more by the author.

During a human trafficking sting, mercenary leader Chase meets FBI Special Agent Cameron and immediately the sparks fly. The minute Chase lays eyes on Cameron, zing! The two teams work to capture Marini, the leader of the trafficking ring, and save the women he has ready for sale. While the women get saved, Marini escapes and now there’s trouble.
The plot is heavily focused on the sex between Cameron and Chase although the Marini recapture attempts do remain present. The story is better at the relationship part than the criminal. I felt like their assumption that a seasoned criminal like Marini, ruthless and careful, “wouldn’t expect a necklace to have a tracking device” was very naïve on their part.
There are some editing issues, relatively minor (cuddlier for cuddler; long distant for long distance) but nothing drastic that pulled me away.
One thing about this story is at times it seemed to me as if Chase and Cameron had known each other before, even though they have just met on the Marini case. At one point, they are discussing long distance relationships and they’ve only known each other three days.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Chase is part of an elite mercenary group. Cameron is an FBI agent and working on the same case as Chase. Neither have ever met in person before until the case comes to a head and Chase’s group corners the man they are looking for and the FBI is there to bring him in. things don’t go exactly as planned and the bad guy gives them the slip. Chase is beyond pissed and Cameron is none too happy either. What neither of them anticipates is their strong attraction to one another. Can they keep it together long enough to apprehend their suspect again? Or will their passion for each other be fatal? This is a great story about two alpha males who come together with a fiery passion.

This is a Short fast paced quick read! A M/M bromance/ romance about love at first sight.There is action, adventure, suspense and romance. Chase the leader of a group of mercenaries( guns for hire for good not evil) meets Cameron the FBI agent on a share case, both are strong and proud openly gay men. They have an immediate attraction and are unable to resist each other, chemistry that strong! What happens when a mercenary and an FBI agent fall in love? I would have liked more development of the characters and story, but that's just my opinion.It was a good read and i will continue to read the series, love the characters and hoping for a HEA with the plot and the hot alpha men!!! His Mercenary starts of fast and hard with adrenaline inducing action. The romance and lust moves at warp speed but I am so hard in love with these characters I'm OK with that. What happens when two alpha males get together? White hot and explosive passion. This book flew by it was so good and just not long enough! It doesn't end in a cliff hanger so you get the full story without a panic attack at the end.
Vanessa Sims Mercenary men are amazing. Cameron who works for FBI and Chase who is a mercenary are working together to catch an FBI fugitive. The instant attraction could cause problems, but only if they can't figure out how the new relationship will work while working together. These two I think will forever be my favorites in this series. Lets see if Ms. Sims can out do herself!!

I liked this short story. It's not perfect by any stretch of the word but I enjoyed it.
It's short so yeah, not much depth to the story nor the MCs and still I liked it.
Not even much sex or the hotter I've read but still.
Feels rushed, yeah. I read that in some reviews and I absolutely agree.
The story feels rushed, the sex, the love... everything feels rushed. But worked for me.
These are hard men, working and living dangerously. The rushed feeling to their story just means that they are non-nonsense men. No time for anything extra. Not much patience for it either.

These are novella's that packs a punch in just a few pages! (about 50)
Starts out with a standoff between Chase and his team (good guys), FBI (on the fence if they are good or bad) and the bad guys.
In the middle Chase and Allen put together an amazing team and get together on a Alpha male, SMEXY HOT, personal level.
At the end Allen joins Chase's team to fight another day!

When the suspect escapes custody during a take-down, Chase and Cameron must work together while dealing with the attraction between them. Chase wants more than a one-night stand but he knows that after the case is over, Cameron is going to leave. So how are they going to work around their differences.
This is a nice quick read. I have to say the POV transitions were a little jarring and pulled me out of the story. But I enjoyed the interactions between Chase and Cameron. As an introduction to the series following sexy men who are ready to kick ass, this is a good start.

His Mercenary (Mercenary In Love, #1) was a fast quick read. It kept me glued to my kindle and I didn't want to put it down.
Chase Black is a mercenary and meets a FBI agent Cameron while on one of the missions that Chase and his team are on. Opposites attract for both of them while on the mission.
Vanessa Sim's His Mercenary book was a fast paste read that was filled with action and some sexy M/M scenes that were in it. If you like M/M types of book than you should check this one out it was really good to read and very quick to read as well.

Kind of fun story, but too much too fast. Would have liked a little more "getting to know" you time before trying to figure out the logistics of a long distance relationship. Both guys seemed to want the same thing long term, and it would have been nice to at least have it come up in conversation (not that there was a lot of conversing going on). Liked the bathroom scene:) It definitely needed editing - too many typos or poor word choices, and several verb tense errors. I did like the concept though, and will probably pick up the next one.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from addicted to books and authors. Chase is part of an elite mercenary group. Cameron is an FBI agent and working on the same case as Chase. When the case begins to fall apart they find themselves together and trying to fight off the chemistry they both feel. There is nothing better then two alpha males falling for each other.
This was a fantastic book and left me wanting more...

This is a male on male book. It's a very fast read and a great story line. There is sex but it's not extremely graphic. There is good character development and true emotion. I would definitely recommend this book if you like the m/m action genre.

This is an interesting read. I loved how the author weaved the romance in with the whole lets catch the bad guy plot. There were some parts that had me wondering... is this normal? Despite those iffy parts, I enjoyed the story.
