Having first come across Anna Adams on Wattpad I have thoroughly enjoyed reading her published work. After reading the first two books in this series I was really looking forward to the third instalment and it hasn't disappointed.

In this book we see Maude develop further as an individual as she moves to a new school. This move sees new friends also opens Maude up to enable her to realise her feelings towards both music and people and pursue these feelings.

I loved reading about this latest journey of Maude’s and enjoyed seeing both the good and the bad changes in Matt and Maude’s friendship. I can’t wait for the fourth book to come out to read about where Maude’s journey takes her next.

This is my favorite book in the series (so far)! The ending made my heart melt and I immediately started reading the next one.

*SPOILERS*

I am not too thrilled about Maude going back to New York since her classical career just started, but it’s exciting to see what will happen in New York. Maude’s mother, Danielle Laurent, did remind me of Maude in some situations. It’s funny how Danielle hated her (later in life) husband when she first met him,but later went on to be married. This reminds me of when Maude first met Matt and she absolutely despised of him. Now they are both in love! I’m beyond excited to keep reading and find out what happens next on Maude’s journey!!🌟

Maude goes back to Paris to The Academy of Art to learn to be an opera singer. When Maude gets there her roommates are horribly rude to her. Maude thought they were playing pranks on her but when they told her who was actually was pranking her she was surprised. Maude's roommates who rude to her became great friends. Maude was embarrassed by her teachers because she didn't know anything they expected from her. At the end of the year Maude was in the top three best opera singers.

I would recommend this book to my friends who are interested in musical books.

I love all Anna's books but I think Anna rushed through the end of the third book. It should have summed every thing up in the end if not every thing at least some things. Also, in every chapter their seems to be a new problem Maude has to face! It's a little hard to keep track of it all... Other than that I loved the book!!!

Loving this series! It's so cute. I'm still a little bit upset about Maude's attitude but I'm glad that she's growing. I missed the Baldwins, though. I hope they show up more in the next book!

refreshing change of scenery and i love how the descriptions of france come from an actual french (and nigerian heyy) author’s perspective; that being said I just found out there are three more of these instead of the two that I initially thought, so I’ll be shelving this series indefinitely. 5th grade me would have loved three more installments, but now it’s a little too YA for my taste. first one is definitely an all time favorite comfort read, and the series surprisingly stays the same quality no matter how many books come out!! love u anna xoxo

In this third book of The French Girl series, A French Princess in Versailles, Maude's journey is further documented. After the second book, A French Star in New York, it is unknown what Maude decides to do. In this part of the series, we learn that she decides to go back to France and attend the best school for arts and music in the country. But of course, where she goes, chaos, scandal, heartbreak, and romance follow.

Maude remains innocent, passionate, and lovable. I love that so far, through the three books out of four, Maude's personality and character remains somewhat the same. Sure, she matures and develops, but her overall authenticity, spunk, and kindness remain a comforting constant as turmoil, drama, and scandal break out in her surroundings.

Maude is able to go through challenges and go after her dreams. Her hard work is depicted clearly and it's nice to see her hard work pay off. As the book progresses, so does she, and it's all very wonderful. Plus, this book takes place mainly in Europe, and the detail is described so beautifully.

I'm also very happy to say that Matt has a huge role in A Princess in Versailles. Matt and Maude are together a lot, and every single time they were together (which I must say again, was a lot), I got the smilesies (a very happy symptom to have, which causes one to smile uncontrollably). They're just such a good pair. They push each other personally and professionally, and I think that is what makes them one of the best dynamic duos ever... at least in contemporary YA.

It does get a bit odd at some points, though, with details that I felt didn't have to be there. For example, many things that happened with pranks and friends seemed a bit too much, and there was some tragedy involving children and teachers (not as major as you'd be thinking, but still, pretty big of an event... which I won't spoil, of course) that I felt was just thrown into the mix. However, all of this was so minor that it didn't bug me that much. It really didn't stray away from the actual story, and because of that, those oddities were easily forgiven and forgotten.

Of course, like the two books before, A French Princess in Versailles ends in a way that leaves readers, like me, wanting more. However, this time, it ends on a peaceful note. There is obviously more waiting, but it's nothing urgent. It's just a go-with-the-flow kind of setting, and I love it so very much.

And once again, and for the last time for this series, I will say, please stay tuned for the review of the next (and final... *cue the tears*) book of The French Girl series.

Boy, should this series be converted to a TV show. I had read the second book when I was just starting out with YA and thought maybe I'd exaggerated how much I had enjoyed it. Definitely not! It was a breath of fresh air- I finished it in 1 and a half days.
And oh oh oh!

Maude has gone back to Paris (Versailles, to be exact) to a famous opera school. After all the scandal that affected her pop career, she's decided to concentrate on opera. Of course, there is as much backbiting and 'pranking' in this school as in any other school full of ambitious teenagers. As she works toward her audition for the Paris opera, she fights off several girls who want to get rid of her. Pretty much on a par with the previous two books, except this is an opera milieu in France, instead of the pop scene in New York.
May 2021 - rereading the series.

I really love the French Girl series! The story is simple but sweet, and it hooks you right in. Maude is a great main character; passionate and determined, even if slightly arrogant- but it all works. You can't help wanting her to be happy.

I loved the settings, and Maude's different adventures throughout the series so far. I really hope these come out in paperback:)
