1 Actual Star + 1 Pity I-Dug-The-Brothers Star =
2 "I-Skimmed-The-Fuck-Out-o'-This" Stars
For fuck's sake, this book.
This was one of those situations where the rubber just didn't meet the road for me.
Don't get me wrong, there was the occasional traction skid...
...but for the most part?
Not so much.
In addition to insta-love that just didn't click with me in this case, I just plain didn't really like Saylor.
Don't get me wrong, I don't always have to love the heroine...but I prefer they not be judgmental flowers who are all self-righteous anti-violence.
Plus, this story starts out with Saylor getting beaten up and raped by her boyfriend.
Lemme repeat that first part:
RAPED.
And yet, not even 12 hours later she is getting all hot and bothered at the sight of Cord in a tight pair of jeans?
Ummmmm....I'm sorry.
Homie don't think so.
Also, we are supposed to feel like these two have this "connection" based on...what exactly?
This for instance...
Now...correct me if I'm wrong, but the words "by now" suggest a somewhat lengthy period of time during which they would have gotten to know each other...
...but the "by now" he is referring to is basically less than three weeks...during which they hung out at the pool ONCE, he ate dinner at the restaurant where she works ONCE, and then they rode in a car together for a few hours ONCE - on the same day he makes the above statement.
So how many ACTUAL occasions spent together?
Answer: THREE
Now, I know they grew up in the same town and all so they have known each other for years.
He DID take her virginity on a BET after all...and then told the ENTIRE town "what the inside of her pussy felt like" afterward.
Wow...

Whom she has only known for three weeks.
And hung out with three times.
Sorry, I just couldn't buy in here.

Picture me surprised with this book.
Something I came upon searching for something else, drew my attention and instead of my 3746286 books sitting bored and tired on my TBR, I picked this one because I didn’t know what to pick and this was KU.
Probably more of a three stars read but I’m giving it extra because I liked the h, and I liked the triplets and I’m still in shock on how surprisingly good this turned out to be ✌🏻🤓

3.5 ~ 4 stars - review to come
Well, welcome to the world of unusual names as Cora Brent brings us the Gentry triplets – Cordero, Chasy and Creedence and don’t forget Saylor who is about to fall in love with Cordero!
Despite their very unusual names, I actually really quite enjoyed getting to know these boys. These boys were not so much raised as dragged up by worthless parents, sometimes neglectful, often violently attentive. They were considered to be the sourge of the prison town they grew up in. In the face of adversary, these boys have forged an incredible bond brought together by their traumatic childhood soon ralising that they only had each other to depend on and soon developed a ferocious reputation.
Saylor, our heroine, also didn't;t have the best childhood although very different from the Gentry Boys. Cord rushed her heart, confidence and happiness with an act of malicious cruelty you’d think would be unforgivable when you read it but watch this space!
Saylor is now running from a violent and abusive boyfriend and tries to go to her cousin’s house but he’s not home and she runs into none other than Cord Gentry, architect of her broken heart and teenage humiliation. She thinks she hates him but he helps her out when she needed it most and she soon realises that time has matured this man into a sexy, caring, yet still very feisty soul!
I very much enjoyed the slow build up between Saylor and Cord, Cora Brent really did manage to build the sexual tension beautifully here but, when they finally got together, strangely I found myself believing in their connection a little less although I definitely came back around by the end of the book. Their sex scenes somehow seemed to lack the emotional connection I was looking for although it’s kinda hard to put my finger on exactly why that was.
I adored the relationship between the three boys – their characters were very well fleshed out and it’s clear that the author thought long and hard about these boys and based the entire series around them. I really began to believe in them and some of the scenes between them, especially in the second half of the book were poignant, emotional and really well done.
It’s definitely these boys that will keep me reading this series – there’s so much I want to know about them and definitely want to read Creed’s and Chase’s stories.

This started off strong for me but it went downhill quickly. Saylor's wounds barely began to heal before she fell for Cord. She forgave him way too quickly and I didn't see much growth from him. The point where I lost it though was the unprotected sex. Seriously? You think this moment would be a good time to have a freaking baby?! The characters seemed incredibly immature and basically seemed like they were playing grownup.

Now i get to know Cord Gentry. See i started reading this series backward. I read Gentry generation first then back to the previous series, Gentry Boys. From the blurp of the book, it looks like a second change romance between Cord and Saylor. But I got more than that. I like how miss Brent protrays a harsh lofe of Emblem. The life is tough, hard and corrupt. Yet despite that the triplet of Gentry boys is thick. They stood by each other.
I wish the story can be more darker. But i still like it like this. Like always miss Brent never fails bringing Gentry boys to life.

This review is not going to be pretty...
This book was terrible, IMO.
The writing sucked. Sorry that's a little harsh. I just didn't like the choppiness of the story.
The dialogue was awful & childish.
The heroine was mostly annoying, hell I didn't even like the hero. I couldn't really connect to anyone in this damn book. Not to mention the heroine experiencing a traumatic event, & then falling in love with Cord in like 0.2 seconds. They may have history (a shitty history at that), but for some reason the minute she sees him after years and being fucked over by him, all is forgiven. So not believable to me. Especially considering both of their pasts.
The sex, meh. .
The story was all over the place for me & some major details were left out. Details that I need and it pissed me off that I didn't get them. I'm one cranky bitch. (Can't you tell?).
No climax moment for me whatsoever, in more ways than one. I ended up skimming most of the book after 50% but felt like I didn't miss out on too much. This one had some major potential, just didn't follow through for me.
I may give the other books a try in the not foreseeable future and that's only because the ratings are much better than this one. Maybe, just maybe, everyone has gotten their shit together. Not gonna hold my breath though...

This NA was very similar to about 50 others out there. Oh .. maybe the story is a bit different, but it has the same degree of angst, the same over the top gratuitous sex, the same insta-love feel.
I finally gave up at about 75%. Nothing new and I got bored. So, my experience with Unruly may be a one-off for this author? If so, too bad.

An amazing novel! I loved every minute of it!!!
When reading the synopsis two things caught my eye. The triplet thing--because that means there will be three books!! And the line 'those white-trash Gentry boys.'
I love reading love stories where either the guy or the girl is a underdog in some way. So because of his poor, abusive upbringing Cord was the underdog. But he's not the same kid from high school. Sure he's still that rough/rowdy/redneck, especially on the exterior. But he's also tender, thoughtful and protective. And I loved the dynamic between the three brothers as well.
This is the only book in years--that instead of checking the progress bar to see how much I had left to read (I do this even with pretty good books), I was checking the progress bar dreading the end. I never wanted it to end! I loved it that much!!! And then, those sexy scenes! Perfect for me! I'm not a 'fade to black' girl and, honestly, most books can never get the sex scenes quiet right. But this book sure got them right!!!

1.5 Fighting & Sexing Stars
I honestly couldn't see why so many readers loved this story. So, once again, I'm in the minority. This story had no appeal, or emotional pull/affect on me. I felt it was just about fighting, sex, and dealing with domestic and child abuse. I probably could have dealt with all of that but in the end... This book did nothing for me. I couldn't connect one iota to any character.
I really did have high hopes for this however, not one moment did I feel like there was anything deep to this story. It felt shallowly written. Also, the amount of time this story spent on Cord and Saylor going at it was ridiculous. It wasn't even sexy or sweet. It was raunchy. Not even in a good dirty way.
Cord, Creed and Chase are triplets. Saylor is a girl who's around their age and they all grew up in a white trash town chalk full of drugs, alcohol, and abuse. Both sets of families pretty much sucked, granted the triplets parents took the cake in that category.
When the boys are teens they have a bet who can deflower Saylor all over 5 cases of beer. The one who does the deed does it in a dirty place and then is cruel the second it's over.
Saylor spends 6 years away from her trashy town and becomes a product of domestic abuse and sexual assault. She runs off to her cousin, Brayden, who now lives in a college town. Oh, and by the way, so do the triplets. Saylor has a run in with Cord and how quick she is to let go of the past and how she was recently sexually assaulted. Now she and Cord are together.
The boys are in to illegal fighting to pay the bills although each has a talent they do nothing with. Saylor and Cord quickly set up house, fall in love, think of babies and I swear its all in one weeks time. Oh and hey, lets not forget that for 6 years she hated Cord but in a day she's letting go and letting it lay to rest and trusting oh so completely.
The triplets and Saylor need to come to terms with their lives, the road it's heading down and if they can make it better. The boys take a scary hit and that throws the 4 for a loop. Saylor loves the brothers like her own, but she's overly in love with Cord. Is it enough to pull him and his brothers out the downward spin they were thrown into? Is she enough for Cord? Can they shake off their "white trash" stigma? Even if its just them in a new town that knows of their stigma...can they over come it for themselves?

Wow... I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. This is a new release and I rarely jump on new releases right away, especially if I don't know the author -but dang, I'm so happy I did. When reading the blurb I was sooo intrigued that I couldn't resist but 1-clicking this .99cent goody! It it didn't disappoint!!
Cord, is pure alpha - he's protective, strong, fearless, sexy and extremely good in the sack ;) His filthy mouth really got me going -no joke. Yeah this book was great and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was way more than just 'boy meets girls, falls in love...'. The story around the Gentry boys was touching and very much real and I felt for them. I felt their struggle to fit into society; their sorrow which followed their name like the pest, especially there was so much more to the boys than anyone knew -besides Saylor. The story had depths, that's for sure and I Cora did a great job combining the Gentry boys story with the developing love story between Saylor and Cord. I can't wait to read about the over two brothers, Chase and Creed. I highly recommend this book!!

Wow... I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. This is a new release and I rarely jump on new releases right away, especially if I don't know the author -but dang, I'm so happy I did. When reading the blurb I was sooo intrigued that I couldn't resist but 1-clicking this .99cent goody! It it didn't disappoint!!
Cord, is pure alpha - he's protective, strong, fearless, sexy and extremely good in the sack ;) His filthy mouth really got me going -no joke. This book started out okay, but then turned into insta love and sex. I don't get how Saylor went from one abusive relationship straight to a guy who slept with her in high school as a bet and didn't make him work for it at all. There was a point when she got upset with Cord for what I found to be a valid reason and he basically said I've given her my all so tough if it's not enough. I don't think he made up for his past at all. But to each their own.

This is the first book in the Gentry Brothers series. If you are looking for a good and easy book, this is one for you. I really enjoyed the POV of Cord and Saylor throughout the whole book. I was drawn right in and couldn't put it down until I had finished it. Cord is using his fist to support him and his brothers and Saylor is running from the fist of her past. Cord and Saylor have a past that could have been explored more in depth. After what he did to her as a teenager, I would have liked to have seen flashbacks as to how she coped. I know many years have passed but I think she shouldn't have forgiven him so easily.
The H & H meet up again years later and right off the bat start a relationship. More development into this would have been more impactful. Even though not said aloud, I Love You shouldn't be the first words she wants to say the first time they have sex.
Cord comes across as very protective and loyal to his family. There is nothing he wouldn't do for the ones he loves. Saylor finally takes a stand and isn't afraid to stand on her own and fight her own battles.

Draw was the first book in the Gentry Boys series by Cora Brent. It was also my first book by the author.
Cord Gentry was a triplet. I loved the bond between the three. They had endured a horrific childhood and although they found their way out of their small town, they were still barely getting by, but they had each other. They were all gorgeous in their own way with loyalty to each other as their foundation.
Saylor McCann grew up with the Gentry boys and it wasn’t pretty. She had a humiliating incident with Cord, which was one of the major reasons she fled Emblem, AZ upon high school graduation. Unfortunately her judgement in boys/men wasn’t any better in college and she ended up back in AZ upon her college graduation. Her life was on a continuous downfall, but she found temporary solace with her cousin/best friend since birth until she could get on her feet.
I struggled with the first two chapters and anyone with abuse triggers will too. There was nothing good about those chapters except they set the stage by explaining the past so we could get to the present and future. Brent still explored the past as the storyline progressed, but the focus was on a better life.
Draw was told with a dual POV so we were able to get at the heart of both Cord and Saylor. I loved the second chance premise while also overcoming poverty and town judgement. It was entertaining and heart breaking at the same time. The plot was well developed but there were numerous editing errors that detracted from the writing. Otherwise, it was a fairly fast read and enjoyable.
Additionally Brent set the stage well for the series. I fell in love with the Gentry’s - brothers and cousins alike - their hearts, loyalty, unique personalities and all of their imperfections. I can’t wait for each story, but Brent left a pretty big hole in the plot that I expect to be filled in with Creed’s story next in Risk. I can’t wait!

I loved this series (even though it is NA). This will always be my favorite of the series. There is nobody like Cord Gentry!!!
Ok so Cord and Saylor have a BAD history. He did something really horrible to her when they were teenagers. Something unforgivable. But Saylor is a better woman than me, because she does forgive him and finds her soulmate.
The book begins with Saylor leaving a very bad and abusive relationship.
She goes to her cousin for help and finds Cord - which was NOT a happy reunion! But he helps her out and a tentative truce is formed.
But Cord has grown up. He is a good man with a heart and she sees that over a bit of time. I loved their story. I know Cord screwed up badly in the past, but if you can find it in your heart to give him a chance, I think you will love him too!

I liked the first half of this book. It was slightly dark, a lot happening without a lot of whining, interesting characters.
The second half had more drama and less of my interest. It wasn't awful, but it danced with OTT.
The story - Saylor leaves her shitty bf and runs into our hero - a jerk from her past. Romance. Problems. The drama existed with the hero and his 2 brothers rather than the hero and heroine. So that was different. And I appreciated that when shit coulda gone super south the author took it easy on me.
Overall I didn't feel a strong connection to anyone. I never felt like I wanted to quit reading it - but I never felt like I couldn't put it down. At some point I'll likely read the next book in the series, but I'm not rushing into it.

Freaking Loved it. I read a few reviews that had me a little worried, but I am happy to report that I loved it and the faults the other reviews found were not faults I found! Cord was a super hot alpha bad boy and Saylor was a spunky girl who had a rough time but was able to turn it around. I absolutely can't wait for Creed's book next!!!!!

So I'm a huge Cora Brent fan and I mean huge. Read all her books and I love them. This book was no different. 4 Gentry Boy Stars.
Ms. Brent has picked a deep meaning quote to start the book with.

The Gentry boys/men are triplets. Creedence (Creed) is the oldest, Cordero (Cord) and Chaslyn (Chase) is the youngest by about 90 seconds. They have all had a tough upbringing with a junkie Mum and an alcoholic Dad. By sticking together they are stronger.
Growing up in a small town where you can either work at the prison, get the hell out of dodge or sucumb to drugs and alcohol. They were snubbed by the town and called white trash. To survive they each tattooed latein on their skin to never forget.

Saylor McCann who grew up in the same small town and was one of them who managed to get out of dodge. The Gentry boys made a bet and Saylor's life then became hell. Things change though, people grow up and regret or redemption are hard to come by. You have to be the better person to really forgive someone. Saylor and Cord get close and realise that there is something there they would have never thought could be.

There are some scenes that could make some people feel uncomfortable. Saylor and Cord realise how much they have come to mean to one another. Money doesn't matter but the love you can give someone and the life that you have as it is all too short to mess up.

Como explico este libro...
Me gustó, fue dulce y todo eso pero le falta algo. Páginas supongo, tiempo también... las cosas suceden demasiado rápido y demasiado juntas.
Me encanta la relación de los hermanos Gentry, me encanta el carácter chistoso de Chase que incluso estando medio muerto en una cama solo sabía preguntarle a las chicas si alguien podría enseñarle las tetas 😂😂😂. Amo a los tres hermanos, a sus diferentes maneras pero este libro quizá hubiese sido de 5⭐️ si la autora se hubiese tomado más tiempo para desarrollar la historia, y con tiempo vuelvo a referirme a páginas.
Por cierto, sé que Saylor y Cord son el uno para el otro pero aún así esos descuidos en cuanto a protección me parece de inconscientes... sí, mucho amor y eso pero no os sobra la pasta como para tener pequeños Gentrys idiotas 🙄 que poca cabeza...
Para pasar el rato, o quizás soy yo que no lo cogí con ansias suficientes.

Niente ragazze abbandono la lettura, nn ci riesco proprio, mi vengono i brividi sia per la traduzione sia per come è affrontato in un modo così superfluo, infantile e volgare la violenza sulle donne. Questo libro è fatto di frasi messe a caso, senza alcun senso. Frasi volgarissime che nn hanno ne capo ne coda e ripeto il tema che la scrittrice ha voluto sviluppare l'ha trasformato in una barzelletta.

It was sexy cute. It’s definitely more of a 3.5 than a 3. But it was super insta-love so if you’re not into that this is not the book for you.
Cord Gentry is a good egg, even if his name implies otherwise. He’s reputation precedes him however especially where Saylor is concerned. But she forgives him hella quickly and their relatives goes from 0-69 in ad many seconds.
There’s a good background story as well as the hot and horny parts, and it makes you want to know more about the fabulous Gentry boys. Their story is heartbreaking. But I want to know more. I want to know which Gentry brother is going to turn out to be my favourite.

There’s a good background story as well as the hot and horny parts, and it makes you want to know more about the fabulous Gentry boys. Their story is heartbreaking. But I want to know more. I want to know which Gentry brother is going to turn out to be my favourite.
There are a few bits that bugged me. But they’re just little niggling bits I didn’t like, they didn’t ruin the story for me.

I enjoyed it much better, the second time I read it.
Three triplets born on the wrong side of tracks, what to do but live up to the reputation the town has placed on them.. And then we have Saylor, who was a dorky little thing in high-school, stuck to her cousin, shy with a crush on all three brothers..
The brothers placed a bet that one of them will pop Saylor's cherry, and let's face it she made it really easy, a drawing and bam thighs spread quicker than any KFC..
And the Cord said, wow what a waste!
Now let's forward a few years later, Saylor is running from an abusive relationship after her boyfriend nearly put her in the hospital, first day back and she sees Cord after how many years?
The reason I gave this a lower rating was the fact that Cord made Saylor cry after the way he behaved in highschol, and now he is a change man supposedly and she is telling him she loves him after 4 days.. Didn't she just get out of a relationship not even a week ago? You love him? Really? Jeez, I don't know if to laugh or cry for her.. Not very realistic.
I couldn't relate to any of the characters.. and Cord he just seemed so cold, everytime she said something nice he turned into some sexual reference. He was a boy, not close to a grown man, nothing alpha about him but his fists..

Saylor and Cord. Cord and his two brothers (Chase and Creed) are triplets born on the wrong side of the track of a town whose whole side is already the wrong side. When they are 16, Cord seduces Saylor and then walks away with a few very hurtful pithy words that soon spread to everyone she knows. Six years later, Saylor finds in him a most unlikely friend when she really needs one. They fall fast and hard for each other, but hey, they are just 22. There's a bit of this and that in the story, but overall it was a bit long. The ending is a wee bit preachy and I thought they should be singing Kumbia or something. Still I liked it and will try the next one. There's two readers for the audio book male/female but I thought it wasn't necessary and didn't add much except to delineate when they switch from her POV to his. They did a good job anyways.
Off on a tangent, I wonder whose going to pay the hospital bills?? Or is the author including Obama-care?? As a Canadian, I wouldn't normally wonder, but I've lived in the States for many years and know what a mess the health system is there.
For those who wonder there's no OW drama and despite his OTT jerky behavior when he was 16, it all gets sorted quite satisfactorily.
