This is a pretty good introduction to the practice of meditation for beginners. There is a bubble technique in here that I really liked, and I haven't come across it before. If you're looking to get started with meditation, this is a good place to start.

Pretty good for a simple starter tome on how to. Make sure you research Dharma, Hindu, and Buddhism for reference.

As a beginner Yes, go for it but don't get stuck to it. It doesn't follow any religion or philosopher like Hindu Dharm or Christianity or Buddha etc. It is a simple book to that is doing pretty good teaching you how to site silent with your mind and do some still actions to achieve what you are willing to achieve apart from peace and serenity.

Jennifer Brooks has written several other books. This one I happen to buy, first it was free and after Monk who sold His Ferrari I was looking to read something similar. It is not similar though.

Jennifer, in this book has described several techniques to attain the stillness of the mind. Some of the techniques are taken from other resources and some are simple practical experiences. As a beginner this book can do the first magic spell for you. There are several other books better than this one. But it is a nice start to begin by. It doesn't point to any person place or thing neither promise anything like if you do this you will get that.

I have been told by many medical types and during seminars by instructors who should know that forming a meditation practice is critical to achieving calmness, achieving goals and hot it helps improve your health.

I have never known HOW TO meditate and have experimented with different methods and even CDs and DVDs most of which put me to sleep.

I recently took two courses from The Great Course company, The Science of Natural Healing and Practicing Mindfulness, both were outstanding courses. The Dr. in the Natural Healing course included meditation in her practice treating her patients; this from a cardiologist. www.ordergreatcourses.com.

This book is really a great read. It is written as if she and I were sitting across the table from each other engaged in a conversation where she teaches me the very basics of Meditating, the pros, the cons, the obstacles but far more important, how everyone should expect the obstacles and then how to avoid them. It is an easy read, it is a great read, at least in my opinion. A great many who read this review probably know this material already but a great many will not. They could be like me, they know it is probably good for them but don't know where to start or how to do it. In addition to providing this info, the author also provides the results of studies conducted showing how meditation can and should improve your life.

There are also other books on Amazon that are also FREE on the subject. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the book was written and its contents given its cost $0.00.

Would I recommend this book for others? ABSOLUTELY. Will I inform my family and friends about the book and how to obtain it free of charge? ABSOLUTELY.

A CRITICAL NOTE or at least a note that could prove critical to your practice of Meditation. The author emphasizes that for it to become effective, it should be done on a regular basis and we should put it on our calendars to remind us of not only WHEN but how OFTEN. I found the COZI App available for FREE through the Apple Store to be invaluable for inserting MUST DOs on my calendar. Best of all it syncs with other members of my family PLUS it syncs with all the devices I might use like my Apple phone, Desktop, Laptop, and tablets. Can't be that for the price - FREE. It is also available as an Android App. Check it out if not for scheduling medication, just for scheduling your calendar.

Book : The Meditation Transformation
Author : Jennifer Brooks
Pages : 73
Publication : Kindle

Meditation, the age old practice of stilling the mind followed by the Rishis and Gurus of our country which was once thought as something that's not able to be done by the layman. But the perspective have changed over time. Mostly because, like every other things the West has made sure to explore the benefits and tell the world.

This book is a really short but informative one about Meditation for beginners and everyone who likes to explore more about it.

It debunks the myths around meditation that its a difficult one and can't be done by everyone. It explains how to start meditation, what are the different types of meditation, benefits of it, its effect on physical and mental health and tips to improve the meditation practice and how to incorporate it in everyday routine.

I have the habit of meditating in the morning for few years now and also sitting in solitude by looking at nature which in someway feels like meditation to me. The book includes this also as a type of meditation. There were many new information in the book that I didn't know before which I am glad to learn and also few techniques to improve focus when the mind wanders which I am sure will be helpful.

This is definitely a good book for everyone who wants to know about meditation.

Short and sweet

I read this book cover to cover in two easy sittings. If you’re pressed for time, you could probably do it in a week, setting aside 15-20 minutes per session. It’s very easy to read, and filled with useful suggestions for the beginner. If you’re new to meditation, I recommend this book simply for its simplicity and the author’s chatty, approachable writing style. If you’re looking for something deeply analytical, with more clinical evidence of the benefits of meditation, you’ll likely find this to be a little thin in that department.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is even mildly interested or curious about what meditation is or how to implement into your daily life.

Not bad and some useful tips

I thought this was good, because it includes some useful facts and tips, but also quite repetitive and much of it is just common sense. Not the best I've read but not bad

I was forced to read this by my therapist and I found it very hard to complete because it was more spiritual and I am very stone cold on my stance as a very conservative Christian.

The basic stuff.

Lots of intro meditation. One or two chapters on technique. Not a lot of depth or insight , does. Get redundant.

Not just frilly words you'd read on greeting cards

I've read quite a few books on meditation and though many of them are still worth reading, they often have long poetic sections claiming to be self conformations or personal mantras. I personally think a lot of that stuff is worded in a very cheesy way. This book keeps that to a minimum while providing detailed information about the act of meditation and advice that seems to come from a lot of experience.

Contained the most useful information out of the few books I've read, and its the most tastefully written. 5/5.
