5 year old Harry Potter overhears his Aunt complaining to his Uncle about the "freaks" camping nearby. Maybe if they are the same type of "freak" he is they will want him?

This was very much an AU story, with Harry raised by gypsies, and none of the regular relationships. Harry is known as Gabriel in this story, and the author made him quite a bit too powerful, but I couldn't put it down. Just don't go into this expecting a normal Harry Potter story, but something almost totally original.

As some othe reviewers remarked, this story takes dozens of characters until the Hogwarts years of Harry’s age group even begins. HOWEVER! This is not a problem, him touring the world with a caravan of travelling craftspeople is wonderfully built, making me hungry (both mouth-watering and in a spiritual sense), really sweet, especially at the beginning, where Cherub is still young, but lasting ’till the last chapter, and including it.

The method used to tackle the little Voldy problem is also certainly unique, but fitting for a Vegetarian.

It’s still an M book, and half the plot is batting for the same team, but it’s, thank the Gods, not a romance story. Adventure/Fantasy (the second especially near the beginning, given the gifts shown) is closer than the FFN Hurt/Comfort/Romance classification.

I read this in less nights than I probably should have, and am really tired now and have got to catch up on sleep lost. But I regret nothing ☻

Spelling is overall good with only a few glitches. There’s a small advertising in the A/N of the last chapter for the author’s professional books, which is decent and understated and acceptable and much better than others. The AO3 edition of this story suffers from lack of formatting (apparently lost when reposting there from earlier posts on other sites), has A/Ns in the chapter text instead of where they belong, and the first two chapters are posted as chapter 1, throwing off chapter numbers totally, but those are all easily fixable editorial problems and don’t detract from the story.

While the story was charming as a stand alone original novel, it didn't feel like a Harry Potter story at all. This was basically a story about a bunch of OCs. Even Harry was an OC here as he became the boy named Cherub. The first twenty or so chapters were filled with his day-to-day adventures with his kidnappers/the gypsy troupe before he even met anyone familiar (Snape) and he didn't meet Draco until chapter 50. Like I said before, while the story wasn't bad, there were way too many OCs here and not enough Harry Potter content. Also, I definitely prefer the point of contact between members of a pairing I'm reading to happen way before chapter 50.

Nice story, very different AU. There are entire chapters devoted to OC. But I loved this confident and loved version of Harry. But if you like Ron and Hermione, they are very different from Canon here
