Ryenne Hill just turned thirty-eight and feels like the chance for a happily ever after is fast leaving her behind. She's getting older, and she can feel her eggs turning to powder. Six months ago, she broke up with her ex when she caught him cheating, she kissed their talks of getting married good-bye and nursed a broken heart.
Ryenne runs into Shane Allen whom she's had a light flirtation going on with. Shane is sexy as hell, but he's also only twenty-eight. Ryenne would never think of getting involved with him. She's not going through a midlife crisis, and she's got nothing to prove.
Shane has wanted Ryenne for a long while, and now is the perfect time to take the flirting to something more tangible. He will stop at nothing to have Ryenne, even with the threat of losing his job working for her dad.
What neither of them expected was for Ryenne to get pregnant. Ryenne is thrilled she's going to be a mother, but embarrassed for everyone to find out about her sexual activities. Relationships with family and friends are threatened, and work is on the line. Can Ryenne overcome the issues and her doubts to find her own brand of happiness?
In Suddenly Blue you have all the you have your usual issues that come with building a romantic relationship, but you also have a large gap in age difference to contend with. Ryenne is 38 and recently broken up from her fiance, and Shane is a 28 year old co-worker who has had a crush on Ryenne since the day he met her. One night of passion between the two turns into an affair that neither is sure where it's leading too. Throw in an unexpected pregnancy, ex-fiance's and ex-girlfriends, along with controlling family members and office politics, and you have a formula for a very rocky romance. I enjoyed the journey Ryenne ad Shane took to figure out the confusing and complicated relationship. The dealings with family, friends, and ex's made for a very entertaining read.
I like Shane but didn't like the lead heroine ryenne I got really annoyed reading her part and she frustrated the crap out of me. I wanted to go into the book tell Shane to leave her behind alone found someone better, for her to be older she acts like a child while Shane act older what's up with that? I can't stand to see grown woman acting like child smh. 47% through the book I have forced myself to finish because reyenne done gave me a headache with whining self, by 76% I have of that none relationship between Shane and ryenne and the drama between Shane, reyenne and Gary, the book could have been so much better, seem the author keep going in circle with ryenne, Shane and Gary relationship and that take away from what the book should have been about. It's not a memorable book you'll remember after five minutes of read sorry didn't like it. Just understand how you can say you love someone when ya hardly have any real conversation beside physical contact or even be in a relationship all of sudden "I love you" "I love you too" and asking for marriage really damn. They breaking up yet I don't see in the story where both of the dating smh if you ask Shane they are dating but if you ryenne just messing around okey dokey. By 87% I have to take one hour break from the book to get rid of my headache before continue. All I did after that was rolling my eyes with the story lines lol. Maybe I'm bias with this story because of the book I read the night before but anyway is it a good book hmmm an ok book, it is memorable hmmm nope, will I recommend it why the hell not misery love company so happy reading hehe.
P.s if you start the book from 75% up you'll enjoy the story anything before that good luck.
Enjoyable read older woman younger man story. Shane loves Ryenne and wants to be with her but she is embarrassed about what others are going to say about their relationship because there is a 10 year gap between them.
Shane shows Ryenne that she is the one he wants and he is not concerned about the age difference but he is aware that she feels ashamed of their relationship.
Then there is her best friend who reinforces her insecurities and tries to meddle in her life telling her ex about her relationship with Shane and her pregnant status!! Shane sister also does some meddling of her own!
It takes Ryenne some time to realises she has a good man and she better not let him get away.
I liked this story. I would have ranked it higher but the writing was little off for me, a little choppy or something. I also didn't think the writer went as deep into the relationship as she could have gone. It started from sex, continued because on the baby and sex, broke up because of 'just set sex' and reconciled because of sex. Besides boning each other what did they really like or know about each other? So I give points for the sex scenes, pregnancy sex, and hea but it just needed more depth.
I just finished Suddenly Blue and I have to say it was a quick and sweet read. What I LOVED and appreciated about this book was the straight forwardness of the characters...
This was a very cute story about Ryenne and Shane! Ryenne works for her father and Shane works with her but in a subordinate position. There are office rules about interoffice relations but one night Ryenne throws caution to the wind and her and Shane have at it.
As a result what follows is a story that is about not only taking opportunites that come your way but also about loving someone even when all the pieces didn't fall exactly into place like you wanted. I thought it was great.
Yes yes yes that's how I felt. What an immature adult. What was she ? 16???????? What a waste of my time. What happened? I'm always happy to read a Tressie Lockwood book but this one left me cold.
It's been a long time since a book has kept me up all night, but this did. I truly laughed along with the heroine, the jokes and witty comments relatable. With the right amount of sex and drama, made this a very good read indeed!!!
