LENA SKYE Q&A ABOUT "THE BOY IS MINE":
Q: If a reader has not read “Pretty Fly For A White Guy” then can they still read this?
Lena: I made sure to write this story so it could be read stand alone even if you did not read the “Pretty Fly” series. There might be the odd mention of events in the previous books but they are not going to be crucial to the new storyline. After all, there are plenty of spin off TV shows like Frasier where they stood in their own right and I feel that “Boy Is Mine” can also be good in its own right and not just a “spin off”.
Q: So what made you decide to even do a Spin off rather then start a brand new series?
Lena: Quite simply it was down to the demand! I had many emails from my readers actually wanting me to carry on with Nicole and Kenneth's story which I took as a compliment. It just showed me that the readers really loved all those characters so much that they did not want the story to end and so the only real logical way of keeping it going in some way was by changing focus to another character.
Q: What made you choose Patrice for the spin off?
Lena: Patrice was always everyone's favorite “secondary” character from the first series and with her being the only single girl left in the group it made sense, plus she is a bad ass! Who wouldn't want to read about Patrice??
Q: Will we see Nicole and Kenneth make a cameo appearance in this story?
Lena: Well, I do not want to give any spoilers away now do I? I think it is best to scroll up and buy a copy to read for yourself!
Two stars for potential. The heroine was described as a strong black woman and very successful yet she was always doubting herself and filled with so many insecurities. So much drama. The heroine was always making some dramatic scene. The stereotypes didn't sit well with me. The first two stories ended in cliffhangers. I cannot stand that! Fortunately I was able to buy the box set for .99 cents so I could continue reading.
I have had this volume in my shelf for a year and half, and I have only just recently decided to read this series, which I regret as it done nothing for me but got on each of my nerves, on how badly the script was written from the small amount of typos to.......The linguistic description which was so off, There was no emotional show with the body language of the characters in this book but poor taste in telling the reader about the emotions regarding the characters interactions with each other's contacts, plus, I did not certainly feel no type of connection between the hero and heroine. Also the voice of the author was so adolescent concerning the mindset of the heroine that it rubbed me the wrong way all through the entire series. I am so sorry to have wasted so many hours reading this saga as it did nothing for me whatsoever and I could care less about the characters and story!!!! That was told.
I loved reading Michael and Patrice's story, and it was a nice story but for such a strong woman for a few minutes there she lost her strength and I am glad she bounced back. There were a bit of grammatical errors which made it a little hard to enjoy the flow of reading, that is why I gave it 3 stars. With that said it's still a good read and I would recommend it. Thank you Ms. Skye.
I actually liked the book, i felt for Patrice because every woman can feel how she felt at any given moment in a relationship. I agreed with Patrice most of the time and men can be naive when it comes to other women. Lying about shit never helps either. Patrice had a temper but i wouldve hurt some of those girls
Soooo the series is over and I wanted more. These three couples were fun to read about n thru all the twists n turns everyone needed up where they wanted to be.....loved it!!
