Finley Carson's world runs exactly the way she wants it to. Rebellious and independent, she takes up residence with her cohort and best friend, Jasper Lowe, in none other than Sin City itself—Las Vegas, Nevada. She wasn't interested in the ritz and glamour, not this tomboy in dusty jeans and greasy tee shirts; Finley had one goal: to save enough money to open a shop with Jasper and become her own boss.
An unexpected dare lands Finley at a posh charity event, where she's slated to play companion to an unknown gentleman. The events that unfold shake up Finley's neat and tidy existence, throwing everything she thought she knew into a tailspin. Not only was Ramsey Cassano completely wrong for her on all levels, she couldn't shake her attraction no matter how hard she tried. Forced to come to terms with her own desires and beliefs, she struggles through some of life's hardest lessons—and makes a shocking discovery that simply changes everything.
Born and raised in Corona California, Danielle now resides in Texas with her husband and two sons. She has been writing for as long as she can remember, penning works in a number of genres. To date, she has published 49 novels and nine short stories. Her interests vary wildly: reading, traveling, photography, graphic art and baking, among others.
This is a fun, cute read. The characters are witty (although you might want to throw cans of naked beans at their heads sometimes) and the plot is clever enough. it surprised me several times which is generally hard to do (when it comes to plot that is :3)
You’ve got Finlay, Jasper and Ramsey. Now I know what you’re thinking. Love Triangle and in a way you might be right, at least for five whole minutes of the entire book, but the reality is, I think that entire five minutes where you get the feel of it, was merely a means to an end. A way for Finley to get from point A to point b.
Finlay isn’t your typical heroine and I have to admit, she didn’t piss me off once here. Not once, which was so refreshing, there were times were I was almost confused while reading. She was funny, she was a take no crap kind of girl and I just enjoyed being inside her mind for this book.
Ramsey was an absolute sweetheart, right from page one. Another character that brought humor to the table while also bringing traits I would hope a man of his age would have. Maturity, Common sense, Tact, Respect. You name it, he had it. I have to admit that there were moments I wished that what I believed was going to happen with this book wouldn’t because of the way he was. Such a well written character and even though there wasn’t a whole lot of depth or history there for him, there was enough that I didn’t need any further details. I liked what I knew.
Jasper. I wanted to kick him. Claw his eyes out, smack him and love him all in the span of the few hours it took me to read this. What I did like most about him from the beginning was the relationship he had with Finlay. Those two as best friends and the way they played off each other in that dynamic, was absolutely fantastic.
This was a coming of age for Finlay I think and it was done well. The way she has always viewed her life and her relationships, especially in the beginning, it’s forced to change here, but it works. She realizes things, comes to terms with things and never once does she falter in the strength she had from the start. She stays the same person, but one that grows and finally goes after what she wants, doing the right thing by everyone in the process.
Truly enjoyed this book and I sure do hope there is more from these characters in the future.
I loved this! I loved the fact that these two best friends are living together, but also sharing a bed! Jasper isn't my cup of tea, but he does sound yummy, and not someone to kick out of bed :) lol I also love the fact that these two are sacrificing everything to be able to save to get a garage and start their own business. There are of course bumps in the road, but these two sort their troubles with communication. The biggest thing I love is that Finley has the option of a wealthy dude, also gorgeous and loaded... But rather than finding love with this guy and falling head over hills, she realises that the guy she can't live without has been there all along :) ❤️

I read this book in two days! There were many twists and turns in the story that keeps you reading. Like all Danielle Bourdon's books, you feel like you really know the characters and what they are going through. Finley Carson is a young woman living in Las Vegas with her best friend, Jasper Lowe. Finley is dared into taking a side job and her life will never be the same again! There are so many great characters in the story that you are rooting for them all! (Well, most of them anyway.). I enjoyed this book so much and I CANNOT wait to read the next one!!!
This book actually started out alright for me. It was funny and lighthearted, and I thought that would be the tone of the whole book. Unfortunately, after the halfway mark, weird (read: OTT dramatic) things start happening, and I really started disliking one of the MCs. I started tuning out and not caring around this point. I think that the lack of the two MCs backstories leads to a bit of a disconnect with the characters. Funnily enough, Ramsey is the character I enjoyed the most in this book. I'd actually read a book about him, but not another book about the two main characters.
I didn't know what to expect going in as I've read Danielle's other series and I absolutely love it. I knew this one would be a little different. It took me a bit to fully get immersed into but when I did I enjoyed it. It's an emotional rollercoaster and my heart broke for one of the characters. I was happy with how it ended and look forward to seeing what happens next in the series.
This book was so good! Finley and Jasper have a friendship that's envious! Set in the fast paced city these two are trying to make it by and start their own business. But nothing is easy and Finley and Jasper have some obsticals they have to overcome in order to sustain their living arrangment and their friendship. Not one to be pushed or hold her tounge, Finley has to face her desires along the way. This book had me turning the pages and waiting to see what was next!
The theme is love...the problem is finding, and keeping, it. Here's a novel of young folks trying to make their way in the world...and of the world that tries to beat them at survival. Vegas - a city that never sleeps, where lives can be broken so fast it makes your head spin. A setting for romance, or ruin?
This book will grow on you! We start with a pair of childhood friends. They have left their dismal surroundings oh home, and now they are in Vegas! They have a dream. They love cars, and want to own a d operate their own garage. Getting there is no easy road. Love can be a miracle.
This story was a sweet best friends falling in love book Jasper was always there for Finlay it was a slow growing realisation of feelings hidden way down buried in Finlay's failure to commit to anyone long term I loved Ramsey he was a top bloke even Aiden was not bad at the end looking forward to the next book!!
I enjoyed this book but not as much as the others I have read by Danielle Bourdon. It is a good book, it just didn't grab me like some of her other work. It is definitely worth reading and I will read Book #2 in the series...in fact, have it pre-ordered.
I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait to read the next. Although I am hoping she does not stay with Jasper and ends up with Ramsey. He seems to genuinely care for her and as Adrian said " he has never seen Ramsey this smitten before"
I'm not sure. I liked this book and I'd read another by this author, but it didn't capture me. Liked parts, didn't care about others. A bit odd or transparent in places and too ambitious in other (loose ends), but it was very decently written.
Jasper and Finley are best friends since childhood and roommates in Las Vegas. The book has some romance as both Jasper and Finley are dating. This is more than a romance novel with some other parts to this story. I love it when books are written like that.
nicely written cute story about a couple of young adults dealing with life. a little romance, mystery and love. would definitely read more of this author.
Absolutely amazing story. I could not put the book down. It was fascinating to watch Fin and Jasper's relationship. Love the ending. Can't wait to read book2.
My copy of the book is missing Chapter 8. I got this book on a special and there is no other way to get a corrected copy. I do not like that an author puts out an inferior product.
3.5 stars. Unexpected twist as long as you don't read the spoilers in the reviews. Didn't love the characters except for Ramsey. The extra 1/2 star is for the non-cliche ending.
