Their passionate encounter happened long ago binding Caroline and Thaddeus for all eternity. A century later, Caroline is living a new life yet the memory has never lessened its hold on her—tormenting her with mere glimpses as her body continually cries out for him in her dreams.
On the brink of madness, torn between the past and the present, Caroline is the only one that can decide her fate. When she returns to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains the lines between time and space come full circle. Will she find the courage to face the passion and pain that awaits her? Or will she run from her past, dooming them for all eternity?
A very moving story revolving around the past and the present love of the main female character. When I say past, I don't mean in this life time, I mean in another. A beautiful story, well written, which definitely gets you thinking.
Is it wrong for me to wish there was more? This was a fast read but totally worth it.
More than 100 years ago, Thaddeus and Caroline both fought with their families to accept their relationship. Caroline belong to a wealthy all-American family. Thaddeus was a free spirited gypsy. When no one would accept them, Thaddeus took a magical risk.
Now in our present time, Caroline is married to Philip. He is the perfect husband, but Caroline's soul is bound to Thaddeus. Her dreams at night make her body and soul scream for Thaddeus. Philip truly tries to help her, and I really cared about Philip because they really did have a strong relationship before her dreams.
I understand how some people are reminded of Outlander, but this is still a great romance book. Thank you KA Young!
I liked this one very much . Kate has done it again with another amazing, heartbreaking story. does doc Debbie find out what is wrong with Caroline? you will not be disappointed with this fabulous story. I did laugh out loud and yes I even cried , hard!! xxx
I received this as a digital copy of this book for read on a read to review basis. Many thanks to K.A. Young, Net Galley
1/5 stars
Eternally bound is a story in which two people's lives are forever entwined with one another's due to something almost magical/tragic event when they were young. Fast forward in time and it now turns out, one has no memory of the other, whilst the other is seemingly nowhere yet still here. Without giving too much of the plot away that is.
Sounds romantic. Two people and their souls forever together yet separated by time, fate and choice...an interesting and unique concept which helped spiked my interest in reading the book.
The reason in which I'm having to give a very disappointing one star is due to two main reasons.
1. I found the initial plotline very boring with no real feelings, no full on action, as well as no real depth to any of the characters at all! It made very hard to connect to any of them and because of this, it leads me to my second point.
2. I lost interest. Now this rarely happens for me to fully lose interest in a book. Perhaps I stick to what I know I like or will enjoy however, I do enjoy trying out new authors, new concepts and generally new books. But with this book, I thought I would read more into the story before I gave up. By the halfway point, I thought surely this must be picking up by now, but when it hit somewhere around the 70% mark, I just lost it. All interest gone and that's just disappointing to be honest. I don't like however not giving up on a book so I very quickly skimmed the rest to find out what happened. And the ending was very blunt leaving me to breath a sigh of relief that it was now finished.
Overall, a good sounding blurb with a plotline that sadly didn't reach it's potential.
Eternally bound by k.a young Ok if your like me you will have southern acsent in your head for the whole book . This book was so different from the rest of k.a youngs other books it blew me away This book had emotion that is so raw it will give you goose bumps . The story is really a nice love story with a jagged twisted road ahead Not giving you much more apart from enjoy I gave an easy 5
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Ms. young has created quite the story of soul mates, the actual meaning. I really liked the main character Caroline and the old gypsies stuborn woman. I did like her husband Phillip a little but never really got comfortable with him. I knew from the beginning their was something about him being shallow, a man who can't be alone. Debbie I couldn't stand. I knew she waved him right away. I think Phillip was a coward and even his intentions toward Caroline were out of guilt not love. I don't think.he l 're what love meant. Caroline after her near mental break down, her sleepless night with dreams of her true eternal love , thinking herself crazy, and finally coming to terms with everything and knew it to be true was strong and did what she had to do because in her heart and soul.she knew it was right. couldn't we all be as lucky as her in our life? you'll see what I mean after you read this book. I totally loved Caroline, her best friend and Thaddeus. even though he did a stupid thing he did . the best thing ever. I was heart broken for both of them when I thought he was gone forever but Caroline not giving up.made the store our so worth all the sadness I felt. a try lovely read.
I was given this book for a honest review. thanks Kate, it was awesome! You Rock!

True love story
The love and devotion Ms. Young has put into the story in this book is astounding..talk about soul mates. if their is such a thing and I do believe their is, this book tells it all. It's fascinating, the past life of Caroline McKinney popping into her memory during sleep and eventually waking hours is so intense. The love her and Thaddeus have for each other is overwhelming beautiful. Both willing to give their life's for the other. I really liked how the story progresses and Caroline finally finds herself but after going through hell. How she went in for a past life regression and ends up losing yrs of her life. I didn't like Debbie the Dr who did that to her. I think she always had the idea of stealing Phillip away. I got that sense early on in the story. And Phillip supposed to be the supporting , perfect husband doesn't wait til his wife at least passes on before hooking up with debbie again. NO. he got a "I don't like you" really quick from me. And to change his house, her house, Carolines before she's dead as they expected but obviously to their surprise she wake up perfectly healthy, has if she just took a nap.. oops. so now a pregnant Debbie, a betraying husband and poor Caroline not even remembering her past/present. then it hits her from the fairy stone along with aittle of help from the gypsies grandmother.. you'll love this book. you'll feel Carolines pain, heartbreak and happiness. I loved the ending it was perfect. I don't no if this is going to become a series,t didn't end like on but it could open to another book that would be incredible.
This is a love story like no other I have ever read, a story of a love that is timeless and endless. Caroline has overcome a horrible upbringing, being raised by an alcoholic foster mother who was only in it for the money. Now, she is married to Phillip, her very own night in shining armour who has given her an amazing life living in her dream house. Phillip is fifteen years older than Caroline but the age difference has never been an issue because she is very mature for her age, and it has often been commented on that she is "an old soul". Caroline has been experiencing strange dreams that have recently become rather disruptive to her daily life. They are becoming more intense, causing her sleep to become regularly interrupted and Caroline to be suffering from sleep deprivation. In the dreams she is running through a wooded area in the foothills of a mountain, she feels as if she is searching for someone, somebody really important to her. She also gets the sense of feeling at home in that area. As the dreams progress, the urgency to find this person she is searching for becomes more intense, more desperate. Phillip is such a sweet guy, he is very supportive of Caroline and tries his hardest to get her help for this issue. Caroline begins undergoing therapy to get answers and the story that is uncovered really blew me away. I was so impressed with the authors writing and story-telling ability. This book is so beautifully and well written it was almost like I was witnessing the feelings and emotions of the characters like I was actually there. For an author to be able to evoke such empathy for the characters' plights is a true talent and it is clear after reading this book that K.A. Young certainly has that talent. I would consider this book to be a sub-genre of paranormal but I'm not sure which, I think this would be a great read for all romance readers, even those that aren't keen on paranormal, as the love story is the main focus and it transcends the genre classification. The paranormal element is very light and is overshadowed by the epic love story. Everyone needs to read this book, it is fresh, different and amazingly written. I would definitely recommend this read to all my fellow Book Ho's.
*Please note, book was gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review*
Eternally Bound by K.A. Young is a story about love... past, present and the blurred line in between. Caroline is happily married to husband Philip and all is well until nightmares begin to plague her and take their toll on her and those she loves.
Unfortunately, I struggled for the entire length of this book even though I was intrigued by the initial idea/plot behind it. I was put off by the couple right from the start and I never recovered. There is a 15 year age difference between Caroline and her husband. That's no biggie to me. It was stated that she was twenty four so that would make Philip thirty nine yet the way he spoke and gushed it he came across more like eighty nine. The dialogue was just waaaay over the top sweet. Like sickly sweet. It was odd, almost creepy, therefor robbing any chance of "romantic" for me.
Caroline was very plain. She held no real personality and came across as very 'mousey housewife'. It's really hard to get into a book when you have no interest whatsoever in the lead characters. Add the slow start, I didn't have even so much as a spark of interest until around chapter 11. It was around that point when other characters were introduced and while they had more depth than the previous two, it wasn't enough to really kick the story into gear for me. I'm not sure how I feel about the character o Thaddeus. I never got to a point where I wanted to root for him, nor was there any swooning on my part and I do love me some brooding leading me. His brief 'alpha' attempts fell short.
Eternally Bound isn't a poorly written book, quite the opposite actually. Author K.A. Young is a talent and had an interesting inspiration behind this story and there is definitely an audience for it. For me, however, it was just too sweet, too convenient and too civil. Considering all that went down, the betrayals, the realizations, I wanted, expected more angst and raw emotions. I guess I prefer my heroines with a little more venom in their veins and my heroes to be less of a boy scout.
This is an enjoyable read, it took a little while to get into the story, once you get so far you will want to know how it will work out.
Caroline is married to Phillip, a caring and loving man and she loves him deeply. When Caroline starts having bad dreams about losing a lost love, Phillip suggests therapy having No idea of the consequences....
I really didn't know how the story was going to go, it threw me a couple of curve balls! Pulled on my heart strings too.
Caroline I really liked and I loved Phillip, I felt Thad needed something more, he was okay but could of been more.
K.A. Young has delivered the best writing of her career in this spellbinding love story set across time. I was unable to put this book down from start to finish and loved every second. This book is beautifully written and made me laugh out loud and cry. Several times whilst reading Eternally Bound I got goosebumps as the story and the characters just magically pull you into their world. This is one book you will not regret reading and you will want to read it again and again.
I love all of K.A. Young's books, so I was really excited to hear that she had a new one out. This story is different than her other books. It is mostly a love story, but there is a little bit of supernatural in there too. The story had so many twists and turns. I thought I had it all figured out, then it would go in a completely different direction. Loved it!
I really enjoyed this story. Its a grat paranormal romance with historical aspects. It is well written and the characters are very well developed. I love all the different supernatural aspects from the past life experiences and the gypsy magic to the faries and spirits. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This was an awesome read. Wow, it moved along at a perfect pace, never slowing you down, has characters that you will fall in love with and a story that will keep you interested and entertained from the moment that you pick it up. This has to be read, no doubt about it.
I’ll start by saying this was an ok read. I recommend it for anyone between the ages of 20-30 yrs old. After that you might not want to take the time to read who long it takes for the two main characters of this story to actually come together.
The story is about Caroline and Thaddeus. They are star crossed lovers that have been cursed to spend their years alone until they can find each other again in the same century.
Caroline is a young, intelligent woman with no memories of Thaddeus, she only dreams about a mountain top and hearing her name called by a voice that causes her heart to physically ache. Her dreams seem real but she can’t believe that to be possible since she grew up with an alcoholic foster mother and no recollections of a mother or father or this place prior. This is the main story throughout the book. You watch from Caroline’s POV as she tries to figure out her dreams all the while trying to maintain her relationship with her much older husband.
The two main supportive character in this book are Caroline’s husband, Phillip, and her best friend, Michelle. Her husband is many years older than her and that was one of the initial attractions to him. He made her feel safe and secure due to his age. I found him to be written in a very father like manner so the scenes that involved them becoming intimate were creepy and awkward for me. Her best friend Michelle is like any typical bestie, she is always there for Caroline when she let her be and never judged. She’s a free spirit but also grounded in herself. I would have enjoyed seeing her more in the book.
Phillip is a constant in the background for Caroline. You never really get a full sense of who Phillip is, you only see the sides of him that Caroline sees and that’s disappointing. I don’t think Caroline even realizes how much of a father figure he is to her. You get the feeling that he loves her more than she loves him in a romantic sense. It’s also very choppy when Caroline interacts with his clients and co-workers. She laments on how she’s treated like a trophy wife but you never really understand why his co-workers and clients feel that way.
Michelle is first introduced when Caroline meets up with her at a food festival they’ve been attending since college. This is also where Caroline has her first run-in with the mysterious fortune teller that warns her that her dreams are more than that and time is running out. It is annoying that Caroline pushes the woman away given the details this woman knows without ever asking Caroline a question but I guess I get that the author needed this scene to create other scenes later in the book. Caroline’s dreams become so chaotic and create such distance between her and her husband that she agrees to see his ex-girlfriend, Debbie, who happens to be a shrink. Debbie convinces Caroline and Phillip that regression therapy is what Caroline needs to put this all behind her so she can move forward with Phillip in the HEA she’s envisioned in her head.
While under hypnosis we finally meet Thaddeus but I must say it was anti-climactic for me. Between the dreams and the memories Caroline started having I expected a stronger man in Thaddeus. He came across to me as a spoiled brat personally. He created the entire mess that existed for Caroline and himself because of his selfish attitude in my opinion. I won’t go into it anymore because it would give away the plot of the story completely and I want you to have your own opinion.
After this the book wraps up pretty quickly, too quickly for my taste given how much more of the story could have been told. You actually almost get to a point when you want to story to wrap up because it starts to feel like a soap opera. It’s like crap, is this going to end on a Friday and I have to wait for Monday for the story to finally come together.
To surmise, the story has so much potential but I don’t feel it really lived up to the standard it set for itself. If you’re looking for a SUPER casual read that you’ll pretty much forget within a week of reading or just looking for something to fill the time then this is your book.
All Caroline Fowler really knows about her past is that it is filled with mystery and misfortune. However, she has overcome a troubling childhood with an alcoholic foster mother and managed to marry her own Prince Charming. But even after finding her own Prince Charming in Phillip, something is missing. She is plagued with haunting dreams that leave her confused and with a sense of longing for a man she can't remember. As her dreams intensify, not only are they more disruptive to her daily life, but they help her realize that her past is more enigmatic than she ever realized. Can she solve the riddles of her past in time?
At first, I was kind of put off by Phillip. His character was so overbearing and sappy, to the point of being cheesy. However, since he immediately admits to that himself, I was forgiving and kept on. I figured it helped emphasize his character or prove some point later in the book and did not necessarily reflect the tone of the book. His sappy comments get toned down and don't really become an issue throughout the book.
I was mostly excited to read this book because of the paranormal and romantic elements. K. A. Young is a great storyteller! The paranormal plot line was really well developed and had me hooked. The first nine chapters are kind of slow to progress but had enough paranormal mystery to hold my interest.
However, I found the romance only moderately satisfying. The events of the story focus more on intrigue than romance. The plot contains plenty of drama, which is definitely interesting, but not as touching. There is plenty of action unfolding that kept me turning pages but left me slightly detached from some of the characters. There is more focus on the consequences of the characters' actions than on any romance and Caroline's great love, the alpha male, scarcely appears in the book! So, because of this I didn't find myself rooting for these two lovers as intensely as I have other couples in other books. I only found myself cheering for them during a few fleeting moments and often felt kind of indifferent about the fate of their love. I'm not saying I didn't care what happens to them but I'd just as easily be satisfied with a tragic ending.
This is a complicated love affair that transcends time and physical boundaries but it didn't feel all that exceptional to me. Their history together is undoubtedly exciting and fascinating but their love fell a little flat for me. The drama between Caroline and Phillip garnered more of a response from me. I think my problem is that all the book mentions is that Caroline falls for Thaddeus without offering any reasons or examples why. Her love just is. Also, with him missing for much of the book, I couldn't find many reasons of my own to help entice me to his character. After all, Caroline does at least give a reason why she falls in love with Phillip. The most I can remember is hearing Thad telling her not to leave or forget about him. What's most prominent is his desire to physically consume her or his desire to posses her but not much else. Honestly, with his inability to think things through, he seemed more like a giant oaf at times.
Overall, I did enjoy this book though. It is a fun read with plenty of interesting surprises. Although, I wasn't as captivated by the romance between Caroline and her love, I believe many others might be. The plot really makes the story which, undoubtedly, will also keep you guessing. The writing was good and Young has a praise-worthy storytelling ability. I look forward to reading more books from the author.
Eternally Bound, K.A.Young Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre: Romance, Sci-fi and fantasy . Well, I really didn’t know what to expect from this novel, but time travel and the “what comes next?” stuff fascinates me, so I was intrigued by this. It starts where we meet Caroline married to older man Philip. I kind of get the impression he loves her dearly but treats her a little like a fragile toy, and now she’s having these awful nightmares so often he’s distraught for her, and just wants to help. I really felt sorry for him in a way, as if things work out and Caroline is reunited with Thaddeus then what happens to poor Philip? and yet as the story continues and we see how strong the love Thaddeus and Caroline have, how could I not wish for them to be together again? Its that conundrum that had me conjuring up all sorts of reasons to try to dislike Philip.... Then she meets someone who claims to be from her past, the part of her nightmares she can’t recall. Of course Caroline thinks she’s weird and yet....not knowing anything about her past, brought up – or rather dragged up – by a foster carer, she longs to know where she came from. She doesn’t even have a correct date of birth, so when this lady says she must ask her foster mother about something she left with her for Caroline, she’s astonished when she finds that there’s a pendant left for her. Its a strange object, really beautiful and though its fine for Caroline, it feels hot to others. Philip has arranged some counselling for her with a psychiatrist – who he used to date – and Debbie suggests regression therapy. I really didn’t like Debbie, it was clear she still had strong feelings for Philip, though she tried not to let it show. I felt too that maybe Philip also had feelings for her still, and that made me feel better about the ending. You know, when I said I needed a reason to dislike him.... Its a race against time once things get revealed, and some hard choices to be decided for Caroline. It made for an interesting, thoughtful read, and a very beautiful story of enduring love. That’s what most of us want really isn’t it ? and a second chance for them to be together. Its a read I really enjoyed, though its not one I think I’ll read again.
Stars: five, beautiful, mysterious love story. ARC supplied by Netgalley and publishers
Continuing with my reading slump, this book is another one that should have been a great book based on the synopsis but it didn't really hold my interest. I think part of it was that I didn't like Thaddeus. Thad's possessiveness was just a bit over the top. I mean who really puts up with someone who is so controlling and so demanding and so possessive? I mean he loved her so much but then walks away from her and gets angry when she moves on? and she likes his anger and doesn't call him out on it? Really? And Philip. I get why the author had to make him a cheat but come on. That's not who she developed him to be in the beginning of the story. I think the other part is that their basic love story was not fully developed. Just briefly explained and then the reader was expected to just understand that they were this great romantic couple with a love that is like no other. There needed to be more developed with their history to truly get the reader to sympathize with them. Too much "here's the basic facts now you know it all and the characters can just sit and obsess over each other without really delving into their past". It just didn't do it for me. The final thing that bugged me was that after about half way thru the book the editing seemed to just stop and there were typos and grammatical errors and just hard to read due to missing words and what not.
So overall not the greatest love story I've ever read.
Caroline is happily married to an amazing guy. Growing up in the foster system wasn't easy for her, but she made it through. Now she has Philip to take care of her. He's wealthy, giving her everything she needs, and is madly in love with her.
She starts having dreams which feel very real. They increase and get to the point where she seeks out help in the form of Philip's ex-girlfriend, Debbie, who also happens to be a psychiatrist. Caroline explains her dreams and they work on ways to help. However, one way changes everything.
The dreams - they are intense and full of longing. Caroline knows the man in her dreams is her true love, the one she's fated to be with. But that doesn't make any sense. Or does it?
Enter Thaddeus. He's very handsome and irrevocably in love with Caroline. Once she realizes that her dreams aren't dreams at all, she fights with all she has to get to him. He holds the key to her past and her future.
The characters were well thought out and the story was kept at a steady pace. I would have liked more interaction between Caroline and Thad. I wanted more present day one on one time with them or maybe more of what happened after the end of the book. All in all this was a good book.
Book received in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon An Alpha.
Caroline is twenty-four and married to a man fifteen years her senior. She married him for the security that he gives her but she feels like she is missing someone else. Caroline has reoccurring dreams about searching for the man she's lost, her heart. I liked the tone of this story. The writing is really good. I like the idea of soul mates but I think it is also possible that you may never meet your soul mate. The person may live on the other side of the world or they may have died young or in an accident. I like the idea of past lives too. I find it a very intriguing subject. Caroline and Thaddeus' story is very romantic and sad. This story reminded me of the line from the movie 47 Ronin: “I will search for you through a thousand worlds and ten thousand lifetimes!” “And I will wait for you in all of them.” It also reminded me a bit of Outlander. I was enjoying this story a lot. 4 stars.
Caroline is a 24-year old orphan who was raised in foster care. She is just beginning to suffer from recurring nightmares that seem so real and more like a past memory. Her sweet husband Phillip suggests that she seek help from a therapist, Debbie, who happens to be an old college “friend.”
Around the same time a gypsy comes around and tells her that she is an old soul and that she can help her with the nightmares. Caroline is completely freaked and her friends feel that she is some sort of a scam and do not support her getting that kind of help.
I enjoyed the story and was truly pulled by hope for Caroline’s new and old lives. It did have many unexpected moments and was unlike any book I’ve read. The story was intriguing and how Caroline eventually pieces together the pieces to uncover her past is intense. I really appreciated the fact that there was no cliffhanger.
An ARC was provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
when i read the synopsis i knew i would love this book. I cried for these two, they went through a lot for their love. They were REALLY tested and i was soo happy when they finally met again and you would think that would be the end of it. They remember each other even though they've been reincarnated but nope, that's when they have to prove that they actually do love each other and are willing to fight for each other. Their trials and tribulations had my emotions all over the place. I was definitely rooting for them from the very first page. I'm soo happy this was one of the few books I've read that was able to capture my attention from the very first page and keep me riveted. This would definitely be one that i can see myself rereading down the line.
There were parts of this story that I really loved and I found very unique. But, there were parts of the story that just didn't jive with me, or felt like a lot more detail was needed. I think this story could be a four or five stars if it was longer and the blanks were filled in for me. I loved the past life concept, but as the story progressed I became a little confused because it almost seemed more like a time travel type thing as opposed to reincarnation. I received a copy in exchange for a review.
I was given a free copy thru KA Young for my honest review. KA Young has done it again! This is unlike any of her books so far but as all of her books it is a well written love story full of heart. The way its written you can feel the characters and there situation almost like your there. You will laugh and cry but you won't regret it if you check this awesome story out! Loved this story :) Thank you again for letting me read & review it
The book Eternally Bound is a good read. The story and the characters are good. But there are times that I want to punch the characters though. There’s a part where I want to stab Caroline’s husband, grrr! Anyway, the book is well written and I was easily pulled in on the story. The twist and turns of the story blew my mind! Loved it! It’s a 3.5* read for me because there are parts that I was not that happy on how it went, but the others are great. Ms. K.A. Young did a good job.
