Is love truly blind?

One year after leaving her cheating boyfriend, Laney Holden can’t catch a break with men. After a year of blind dates that go nowhere, she grows jaded against the male race, even with the choice men at work. When her best friend comes up with a new plan for her love life, Laney follows along, hoping to find something different.

What waits for her behind the door of room 237 in The Club is nothing like she ever expected. Blindfolded, she meets with Alex, a mysterious man who captivates her the first time she hears his voice and feels his touch. He’s everything she ever wanted in a man, except she’s blindfolded and it’s only casual sex.

With every steamy, blind encounter that follows, Laney drifts a little further on the wrong side of the grey line between casual sex and love. Her confidence grows and she explores sex in ways she never dreamed possible. But with every passing night, she comes closer to the moment when the blindfold must come off. Will seeing Alex for the first time alter their intense chemistry? Or will it fulfill Laney’s deepest desires?

This is a sexy steamy read that was originally three novellas.

We are introduced to Laney and she has been living in a shall we say a dry spell. She is in a rut and her girlfriend has just the cure! They decide to join a "club". It is not for the classic relationship but more for a safe sex hook up zone. She meets Alex her first evening there and his seductive voice captivates her. She begins a strange relationship with him behind the door of room 237. She is blindfolded for each encounter and begins to explore a sexual side to her that she has never dreamed of. The lines begin to become blurred and Laney isn't sure how this will play out for her. When she finally is able to see Alex for the first time will she feel the same and will the amazing sexual chemistry remain. I truly loved Laney and getting to experience the thoughts she had in her pretty little head. She is a beautiful, funny smart woman. Alex will certainly be your new book boyfriend. He worshiped Laney's mind and body! I had not had the pleasure of reading Emma's work before but I am certainly a fan girl now! I look forward to reading more from this lovely author.

I don't know what I expected when I started this book, but it wasn't what I got. Emma Payne definitely gave me way more. I loved this book! I had to put it down one time and wanted to scream because all I wanted was to finish it!

Room 237 is the story of an extremely sarcastic, undersexed, and jaded Laney Holden. It's been a year since her and her whore of man broke-up. Going through the motions of everyday life like a social zombie, Laney is tired of just numbly responding to the stimulus around her, and so is her best friend Becca. Her life is completely uneventful and she is over it. When you start fantasizing about the college boy ringing up your groceries, you know that your vibrator just ain't working anymore. But let me tell ya.....that fucking scene......daaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmn. Who'd've thought how hot being asked Paper or Plastic could be. Best day dream scene ever! I'm pretty positive all women are guilty of doing this at least once in their life. She knows things are getting pretty bad when she starts daydreaming about random people and not just her Fab Four. Four guys that she works with that she has the total hots for, but doesn't have the guts to approach nor does she think that they have any interest in her.
"Damn, I really do love casual Fridays. If only the man in those jeans would talk to me as much as his ass does, we'd be set."

Becca, being the intuitive bestie that she is, notices when Laney is starting to come back alive and helps to push her back into the real world fast by helping to end her dry spell and get a man into her pants. Becca makes an appointment with 'The Club', a local private club that helps single people hook-up. And no, it's not a match making place. This is a club people can go to and can hook up instantly with no strings attached. There are rooms of different magnitudes, ranging from vanilla to straight up BDSM slave caves. Going completely against her grain, Laney says fuck it and goes for it, and Becca joins her. After going through the rigamarole to be accepted into this club(which isn't far from offering up your soul to the devil to become a member), and impatiently awaiting the green light, both are accepted and don't waste time plotting their first night into 'The Club'.

Nervous as hell, Laney follows her bubbly, flirty friend around watching all men flutter to her like a moth to a flame. She excuses herself to the bar to get a drink, because let's face it ladies, no one likes to be the 5th wheel on a 4-wheeler when you're shaped like a triangle. Starting to wallow in her own pity party, she stands there drinking her $5,000 dirty martini when a set of hands land on her hips and body gets close to hers...
"I start to turn my head, but a deep voice whispers, "Don't turn around."..."Finish your drink," the voice says, "then come to room 237. There will be a blindfold on the doorknob. Put it on and go inside the room." I don't know what to say, so I make a noise that sounds like an affirmative. "I'm going to leave now, but if you turn around before you finish your drink, I won't be waiting for you in the room."
Holy shit! Now I don't know about you, but if I'm in a sex club and a man propositioned me like that, they would need a damn mop to clean the floor where I stood. Knowing this is her one chance, Laney takes it and heads to room 237.

From here she begins this strange masked relationship with her club partner Alex. She is always blindfolded with him and she soon begins to enjoy it overlooking who he may be. She doesn't care because every time she is with him she feels alive and just wanted to be with him and make him happy. Who wouldn't with sex like that or the after sex time that they share?! During this time of self discovery, she begins to come alive again, grows more confident, and is literally glowing. She is turning heads where ever she goes, and the Fab Four at her job begin to take notice. They flirt with her and ask her out, but the whole time her mind is with Alex. Becca tries to talk her into breaking it off before she gets hurt, but she can't keep herself away from him. Until she realizes that she knows him in her everyday life. Oh yes, she knoooooows him! Her curiosity is piqued and she wants answers! So she goes on the hunt trying to figure out who he is without breaking the rules of taking off the mask. The way she goes about this is freaking hilarious.

The sad thing is, when she is finally able to put a face with a name, will she still want him? Will he still want her when he knows she knows? Is it the mystery of the relationship that keeps them going or have they been able to build a sturdy foundation for themselves?

Pick up this book like yesterday! I looooooooooved this story! Laney is an amazing character. Her witty sarcasm sucks you in in the beginning. You can't help but love how she evolves into this new person. She's the perfect blend of all things we love in a leading lady, and gets to do the one thing 99.9% of all women have dreamed of doing...having sex with no strings attached with anyone we wanted to without being judged. Don't you shake your damn head at me! You know you have wanted to at least once! Her friend Becca, god love her, she needs a good kick to her rear at moments. Here she is pushing Laney into these situations, then she makes her second guess everything she does. Other than that, Becca is great! And the Fab Four......holy mother of god. Can I be the 5th wheel on that 4-wheeler??? I'd be perfectly okay with that, seriously I would!

Hilarious, sexy, sensual, plucking heart strings, this book has it all. You definitely need to get in on the action in room 237 and let Alex be your next book boyfriend. <3

Emma Payne has seamlessly combined all three of her Room 237 novellas into one hot, sexy, intelligently written, humorous novel, and I couldn't be more thrilled about that. For those who haven't read the novellas, this book is the perfect way to introduce yourself to this promising new author. For those of you who have, this novel is the perfect addition to your collection. If you love her novellas as much as I do, you'll want to add this book to your device now.

The Club

I want my key to Room 237! Sexy, intelligent, and funny.

To say that the club is a hot and sexy read would be nothing short of failing to express to you how fantastically HOT and sexy this book really is. Not only is it a wonderful little piece of erotica, but it is an interesting and intelligently written story. It's unlike any other erotica story I've read. You won't find the typical CEO billionaire in this story, yawn, but what you do find is the mystery of what lies behind Room 237. I think any woman can relate to Laney and her circumstances. There were so many times when reading this book that I laughed out loud, which I found very refreshing and quickly made The Club one of my favorite books. I simply cannot wait for the rest of the series to be released, not only for all the reasons above, but also because the mystery behind Room 237 is driving me mad! You MUST read this book!

Tighter Binds

Tighter Binds, the second novella in the Room 237 series picks up right where The Club ended. What a relief! I was worried that when this story began it would be months later and I'd miss out on all the sexy suspense that was built up in the first book. No need to worry. Ms. Payne satisfies her readers by picking up the action right where the cliffhanger from The Club left you begging for more.
Payne weaves the back story in very well. You don't ever feel like unnecessary information is being shoved down your throat.
I enjoyed how the characters developed in Tighter Binds. These are not flat, cardboard cut-out characters. Laney is admirable, relatable, and funny as hell. Alex is a dream!
Speaking of funny as hell, just like with The Club I found myself laughing out loud from several scenes in this book. This is one of my favorite things about Payne's writing style. You're getting erotica, but you're getting erotica that is well written, unlike a lot out there as of now, and it's erotica that not only gets you panting, but it also brings a smile to your face.
I think that anyone who is a fan of romance, erotica, and colorful characters will enjoy this book as much as I did. I highly recommend the entire series.

Unmasked

I absolutely LOVED this book. Let's be honest, I LOVED the entire series, but this last book, our final peek inside Room 237, was my favorite of them all. I am beyond satisfied with the reveal of Alex's true identity.

In this reader's opinion, Unmasked is the perfect conclusion to the Room 237 series.

While you still get a hot, sexy, and intriguing read, there is a sweet, romantic quality to the conclusion of Laney's story that I really enjoyed.

Emma Payne has shown that she writes very well, can tell a steamy erotic tale, make you laugh to the point of being in tears, but also can make you fall in love...all in one incredible series.

There were moments while reading Unmasked that I cried out, "NO!" because Payne had me biting my nails wondering who Alex truly was and the mystery became very thrilling to read.

Job well done Ms. Payne. I can't wait to see what else this author has in store for us. I will say that I am truly going to miss these characters and I wish there was a Room 238 book on the horizon. Bravo!

Emma Payne has created a HOT, SEXY, STEAMY series, three books wrapped up in one neat package.
Laney is your typical girl who had a cheating ex-boyfriend and now she finds herself in a dating slump, and NO SEX….Her best friend, Becca, decides it is time that she take control and help Laney find herself.

Laney has her group of four; she refers to her Fab Four at work. These are four guys who she would like to date and each has their own attribute that she loves, but she doesn’t move forward on confronting any of them. She just admires them from afar..

Becca’s big plan involves taking Laney to ‘The Club’ to get her out her slump and have some sex without any commitment. Laney had no idea what would happen after joining the club. But she gets a surprise and an offer her first night at the club that she couldn’t refuse.

Laney is just about to call the night a dud, she decides to finish her drink and leave, but something very different occurs….

“A pair of strong hands land on my hips and a body moves in close to me. A deep voice whispers, ‘don’t turn around.”
“Finish your drink, then come to room 237. There will be a blindfold on the doorknob. Put it on and go inside the room.”

I LOVED this book, Laney is funny, I enjoyed when she would get stuck in her own head in her daydreams. There were times I would get upset with Becca and wanted to tell her to mind her own business about room 237….Dylan the shy mail deliver sounds dreamy and sweet. Meddling Marge was so funny, especially when she wanted to set Laney up with her new doctor, LOL…

This book had the right amount of drama; love, silly encounters, and laugh out loud moments, intrigue, and hope. Emma Payne you have an AMAZING erotic read that makes you think, what it would be like to be blindfolded, to not know your lover, to have complete trust, and to be able to submit in an environment that you have never seen. Thank you Emma for a FANTASTIC read!!!!!

Room 237 is a sexy read about self discovery and self confidence. It is a story about finding love when and where you least expect it and about taking chances.

Laney Holden is experiencing a dry spell after breaking up with her boyfriend for cheating on her. Well, more than a dry spell since it has been over a year. She has shown an interest in a number of guys at her work but none have shown an interest in her. Her best friend, in an attempt to pull her out of her slump, convinces her to join The Club. The Club is a place that men and women can go to enjoy themselves however they choose. On their first night there, while her friend, Becca, is surrounded by men, Laney is sitting at the bar feeling out of place and unattractive when she propositioned to join a man in room 237 while wearing a blindfold. And so begins Laney's journey of self discovery. She begins to see herself as attractive as the mysterious Alex seems to find her. Her self confidence returns and translates in the way she is with men and herself.

The mysterious Alex worships her and her body, eager to spend as much time with her as possible but wanting to remain secret. Why does he not want Laney to know what he looks like? What is he hiding? Is he too good to be true? With Laney falling in love with Alex without knowing what she looks like, how will she feel about him when she discovers his identity?

This is an intriguing story that deals with love in an imaginative way. Following in love with someone when you don't know what they look like, while trusting them enough to pleasure you and take care of you in so many imaginative ways. I loved the characters Laney and 'Alex'. They were characters that you could totally relate to and really want them to get their HEA. A definite sexy and fun read.

Love is Blind
Laney is jaded with men after finding her now ex cheated on her twice. She's lost confidence in herself and lost faith in men. After a long self induced dry spell her best friend comes up with a plan to join The Club and have some no strings attached fun. But what happens when the strings are already super glued to her?
Emma Payne has found her calling by writing this book. I have a love hate relationship with her characters which only made me like this book that much more.
Loved the reality of Laney. Who hasn't been jaded by a cheating ex and questioned their self worth? Who hasn't fantasized about hot men in their workplace? Who hasn't stared the love of their life in the face and not known that they were there? This made Emma's characters more believable.
I loved the blindfold and all it represented. Laney has to use all her senses to learn who Alex is. She falls for him without ever seeing his face.

Quote:
"We never talk about anything personal. He doesn’t know where I live or work and vice versa. I have no idea how old he is, how many women he’s been with, or if he’s ever been married or plans on it. He also does not know these things about me. Despite the lack of personal details, I know him far better than I ever knew Keegan, and I spent two years with that rotten bastard."

This is a steamy read that will keep you on your toes. If you're looking for a Hot book with even Hotter men and sex that's off the charts steamy than this is the book for you.

This is a SN Book Review - A Free Copy for an Honest Review

Wow!!! Just Simply Wow!!!

The first thing to draw my attention to this book was the Synopsis.

One year after leaving her cheating boyfriend, Laney Holden still can’t seem to catch a break with men. After a year of blind dates that go nowhere, she grows jaded against the male race, even with the choice men at work. When her best friend comes up with a new plan for her love life, Laney follows along, hoping to find something different. What waits for her behind the door of room 237 is nothing like she ever expected.

Who doesn't love a little intrigue and suspense, this novel is well constructed with many characters that will have you captivated. Room 237 is secretive and steamy, it's where fantasies come to life. Can Laney handle it? Can her mystery man? I highly recommend this novel to anyone who wants something to read other than Fifty Shades of Grey such as myself. (Never read it personally) I would also recommend this to anyone who has read Fifty Shades of Grey and wants a seriously fantastic read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Emma Payne's work and would be happy to read all and work by this author.

This was one of those can't put down reads! Not only are the characters in this book amazingly developed. But the story line flows smooth and makes you wanting for more! And I wanted more....Emma Payne should definitely write a follow-up book!
In this book we meet Laney and she is going through a bit of a dry spell shall we say! Well her great friend Becca decides to introduce her to a new way to meet men. And I like the way she decides to solve that problem! Hehehe
And then comes Alex...He was gorgeous without ever seeing him and was so tentative to everything. The way his character is described and how he treats Laney is unfathomable! I have to say this story was refreshing and new...I loved just loved the story line and the mysteriousness of it all! Thank you! Thank you Emma Payne! Job well done!!!

This review is for all 3 books. To start, I didn't put this book down from the minute I opened it. It kept me intrigued from the beginning. I love Lanie and her time to get back on the horse attitude. She puts everything behind and goes with the flow of her best friend with hopes of one of her ideas working out. Trying to keep her feelings at bay between her Fab Four and her new Club mate, fate makes the decision for her. Now Alex stole my heart from the beginning. I can see how Lanie was grabbed right from the start. He was gorgeous without ever seeing him and was so tentative to everything. Great story and I look forward to more by the author

This is a really good erotica story. This was released originally as three romance novellas. I'm so so happy to read all three in one story.

A year after splitting up with her boyfriend Laney still hasn't found anyone else or had sex. Her best friend coaxs her into going to The Club. Lainey has no idea what The Club is about.

What happens when Laney is invited to Room 237 by a stranger?? If your looking for a really good hot story then I recommend this.

Room 237 is a trilogy of erotic novellas, The Club, Tighter Binds and Unmasked.
From the minute I started reading it, I was hooked and couldn't put it down until I finished it 3 hours later. This series contains mystery, humor, passion, friendships, love, self discovery, confidence and massive amounts of HOTNESS!!

Laney Holden leaves her boyfriend of two years because he was a cheater. A year passes and before she realizes it, she is in a massive dry spell and becomes bored with the opposite sex. She figures she is ruined and unattractive because she has had a few blind dates that went nowhere and the males at her work show her no interest. Her fantasies are on over active drive and she even names the four most dateable males at her work her "fab four". She admires them from a distance, only letting her fantasies do the work. Her best friend Becca has had enough of Laney's rut and decides they are going to "The Club" to hopefully sign up for nights of no string consensual sex.

They get accepted into The Club after a 30 day wait period and decide to go check it out. Becca is surrounded by guys and Laney is standing off to the side feeling uncomfortable so decides she'll head to the bar and get her 2nd and final drink and head home. While sipping it she is approached by a man who comes up behind her and instructs her not to turn around.

Quote: "A pair of strong hands land on my hips and a body moves in close to mine. A deep voice whispers "Don't turn around. Finish your drink, then come to room 237. There will be a blindfold on the doorknob. Put it on and go inside the room."

She does not knowing who he is or seeing his face, only learning after she enters that his name is Alex. They share a night of passion, talking and companionship. Alex is a woman's dream! Very caring and attentive. They meet in room 237 for a month, exploring one another and diving a little bit into the BDSM world. They talk non stop but never about anything personal and this whole time, Laney has not seen Alex or knows where he works etc. They never speak outside of The Club other than via texts about the time and nights they are meeting up.

Will Laney ever find out who Alex is? Will she ever get one of the "Fab Four" to notice her? Will Alex finally tell Laney the truth and reveal himself? Could these two fall in love and try a relationship outside of The Club?

I LOVeD this book! I adored Laney's character. She is a hysterical sassy mouthed girl and I laughed out loud on many occasions while reading this. Alex is swoon worthy, attentive, caring and I loved him and Laney together. Becca is an awesome secondary character as well. I highly recommend this. It kept me intrigued from page one and I couldn't put it down till I finished it. I figured out who Alex was early on but not knowing 100% made me want to keep flipping the pages until he revealed himself. And...I was very happy he is who I thought he was.

After reading all the excellent reviews on this book... I took a chance but I was disappointed. I simply could not understand or connect with the hero and the heroine, but mainly the hero. It seemed to start off well but eventually I just knew what was going to happen next and lost interest. Furthermore, there is the scene in the book, a threesome. My question is when you are just dabbling on BDSM why would the hero hire 2 DOMS, is simply beyond me, I mean when you are trying something out wouldn't you first test it out before going big ???? I mean neither the hero nor the heroine knew what they were doing. That scene was just wrong on soo many levels for me. In addition to this, when the heroine sleeps with one of the "FAB FOUR" she keeps thinking about the mysterious guy at the club and when she is with him, she thinks about another man, Dylan. Seriously !!!! First you want the mysterious guy cause you have a connection and all that but when you are with him, you are thinking about some other man who have never spoken an entire sentence to you ?!
I seem to be on the minority here since many have given this book 4-5 stars but hey, this is just my opinion.

I liked this protagonist for recognizing that she was unhappy enough to take action and stop sabotaging herself. That trait makes her one of the better protagonists in novels I've read this year. Most encounters in Room 237 were about freedom and honesty about sexuality and it was well illustrated.

Amusingly, the protagonist was a somewhat reluctant fan of the 50 Shades series (as in, she didn't like the characters, buuuut...) and mocked herself for liking Twilight fanfiction, so this is probably especially relatable to anyone who's been curious about BDSM but also felt a little sus about how it's portrayed in pop culture.

Some of the meandering and encounters in the middle were to a really specific taste which was not mine, but nothing was so intense as to be offensive. For people who are into that, I'm glad it exists and I'm extra glad if the author enjoyed making it.

Overall /thumbsup.

This book was amazing!! I loved that it kept me guessing until the last minute. I love books that do that. The main character is definitely relatable and Emma does a great job of bringing the reader in as if you could almost see the main characters falling in love. I just finished reading it and have a total book hangover because of it. If your looking for a hot, funny and unpredictable book to read this is definitely for you. I will defiantly tell all my books friends about this one!! <3

First, it was given a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Big grin here. This is an easy one. It is a hot, steamy confection, much like a hot chocolate with a shot of something alcoholic. Quite enjoyable and I especially like the dynamic between the characters. Fun read for an evening at home with a significant other for reasons which will become apparent when you read it.
