Brandon doesn’t have a care in the world. Luck has followed him and his twin brother, Connor, their whole lives—even landing them in the billionaire’s club—and the luck of genetics ensured him that, with or without money, he would always have women after him.
But Brandon’s luck has just run out. He has agreed to the terms of an annual challenge with his brothers to conquer a woman from a chosen group, and in the process, suddenly finds himself facing a conundrum: while carrying out the dare with one woman, he realizes his feelings for a childhood friend, Erica, goes far beyond friendship—especially now that she’s getting married.
Now, two gorgeous prizes are on the line, and it seems he can’t win one without losing the other. If he drops everything and goes after Erica, he loses the game. If he lets his fake relationship play out, he wins his older brother’s stunning Hawaiian beach house, but could lose Erica forever. Brandon is used to surfing along wherever life wants to take him, but will he finally interrupt the flow and take a necessary risk?
Erica Cain once had a crush on Brandon Wilde as a silly teenager, but she eventually got over it; in fact, she’s glad it never worked out for them romantically once she sees what a vile boyfriend Brandon would have made as she watches him navigate life. She is convinced she has moved on from that schoolgirl crush, and finds herself a dedicated, stable man to settle down with.
But now Brandon’s blue eyes are looking at her in a way they never have, and it is stirring up feelings she has long buried. She can’t let Brandon crash into her life and wash away her plans, but how long can she resist Brandon’s heated baby blues?
Rose writes contemporary interracial romance (mostly BWWM). Her stories star white-collar heroes as well as billionaires, and the women of color who fall in love with them! Some are on the sweet side, and some are on the steamy side. For white-collar heroes, check out the Sweet Redemption & Holiday Hunks series. For Cinderella-type billionaire love stories, check out The Billionaire's Desire, The Billionaire's Proposition, Secrets & Deception, and the Taking Chances series. For oddball stories, see the Dangerous Secrets series & Bite-Sized Romance.
4.00 stars. I also enjoyed this story about Brandon Wilde, the lucky surfer dude. Love triangles are not my favorite storyline because they are never pleasant when all the parties are generally kind caring people. Brandon was with Jennifer as a result of the wager; Erica Cain, Brandon's childhood friend and secret admirer, was with Stanley because she lost contact with Brandon and was lonely and frighten. Brandon and Erica finally united after loosing the other two people, it was a long journey and I wondered if they would come together in the end; but , the author managed to tie up the loose ends of their lives in an interesting way and within the constraints of this very short book.
All I can say is wow. Brandon and Erica was just fighting their feelings for one another. Too bad they couldn't hide their feelings for one another from their significant others. It was a good story indeed only short.
I really enjoyed Brandon's and Erica's story. Brandon was a little harder to like because of his arrogant attitude but by the end I was happy it worked out.
Wow, those Wilde brothers, what started out as a birthday bet, to see who could rekindle with a high school or past romantic interest, no sex for 2 weeks, and get her to tell you she loves you in 90 days, that brother gets Hawaii beach property per Alec. Brandon, one of the twins, been best friends with Erica, then she is now engaged, he realizes he is going to lose her forever, can this truly be forever, what will he do, she doesn't trust him.
