I never look in a mirror. I don’t need to. If I want to see what I look like, I just look at my twin. Daemon and I are identical in every way — from the outside. That’s where it ends.
Born five minutes after me, my brother hates that he came second. It irks him that I breathed life into my lungs first. Ever since he’s been trying to steal everything I have. Everything I love. To own it first.
Until the day I, Cobra Malone, become president of the Scorpio Stinger MC. I throw him out like the garbage he is. Rotten filth won’t be able to taunt me any longer. How wrong I am.
Evil knows no barriers. It stops at nothing. It won’t rest until it gets what it wants. And he wants what is mine. MINE. He wants my woman. My air. My reason for living. I’ll die before I let him take Mia from me.
Will this be a battle to the end? Till the last man is left standing? When two wills this strong clash, there will be chaos . . . and blood. Who will win? The God or The Monster?
Jani is a voracious reader and would spend her last dollar on a book - always fascinated that for the mere price of a book, she can escape her world for a while and see through someone else's eyes.
Besides reading, her favorite 'thing' is traveling - she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things. Her hobby - Scrapbooking - keeps her up till way after midnight and her usual subjects are her family and her travels.
Ever since she can remember, Jani wanted to write stories about people, about their lives and loves. Relationships and Happiness - arguably the most difficult things to master in life and yet exactly what everyone ultimately desires (in her humble opinion).
She would love to hear from you, please email her at janikaybooks@gmail.com
A must read for all the Scorpio Stinger MC series fans because we get an insight into Cobra and Mia's lives and their story...and we get to see how they finally deal with that motherfucker Daemon (Cobra's identical twin).
For all you other biker bitches out there...if you haven't read this series then you better get on it...literally :P
3 "When Your Brother is the Devil" Stars. Gods & Monsters is a dark MC romance that tells Cobra Malone's story. While it is not absolutely necessary, there is some carryover of prior characters, and therefore this series is best read in order.
Please note this is a dark romance and therefore may not be suitable for all romance readers. In particular, there is a detailed and violent rape scene that some readers may find disturbing.
The plot is basically divided into two parts. The first details how Cobra and Mia meet; and the second focuses on their sordid battle against Daemon, Cobra's twin brother, an evil man who will stop at nothing to claim the ultimate revenge against his sibling who he envies above all others.
While the story was satisfying in some aspects, the largest part of which was the hero, who demonstrates some very admirable alpha hero traits, I had some difficulties with other parts.
In particular, I felt that a number of aspects of the story could have been better developed. For example, the romance bore an insta-love quality (I don't want to spoil the story for you, so I will not go into specifics). Moreover, certain other elements of the story felt unrealistic. For example, the first part of the story ends in the killing of a high profile drug lord; and as the story skips to the second part, several years later, there doesn't appear to be any retaliation, just a quick reference to the characters needing to be careful perpetually. Additionally part of the premise of the story hinges on us believing that the woman who was violated could hide that fact from her husband for years, which seems unlikely given the violence which surely would have left it's physical marks, never mind the emotional marks, which undoubtedly would have affected their intimate relations.
So while I know I'm in the minority given prior reviews, I'd have to say that although Of Gods & Monsters was an ok dark MC romance, it just failed to hit the mark for me.

Ugh I'm so glad its over, to say I didn't like Gods & Monsters is an understatement! 1.If you want shallow characters with no reasoning other then selfishness and petty jealousy...gold star 2. Instalove without any emotional depth...star 3. Cheesy porn, where the primary focus of the storyline is who is going to get the virgin pussy....star. 4. Mediocre storyline and plot falling apart....star 5. Immaturity in the story telling...star This was one of those book where I wanted to bang out my frustrations. In good conscience I can't recommend, however you may feel differently, in either case enjoy.
4.5 for me! This book was well worth the wait! Just from reading the prologue I had chills. I honestly didn't want to do anything but finish this book once I started. This book has some issues that will hit close to home for some people but it's so well written and it's such an integral part of the book that it had to be in there.
It breaks your heart to see how Mia grew up and I just wanted to give her a hug. You get to see how Cobra reacts to her from the get go. You also get to see how Cobra looks at Mia which makes you look at your significant other and go hmmmm....do they still look at me like that?
You get to feel the brotherly love that this club has for each other. Is anything too much to ask of a brother? Is there a line that they wouldn't cross?
Daemon/Demon ugh wow. Just wow. They sure did name him right. I can't even imagine having him as a brother.
Jani Kaye has once again written an outstanding book!! She took a sensitive issue that needed to be addressed for the sake of the story and told it with grace and compassion.
I will not give anything away but the back story of Cobra, Mia and Daemon was one that mad me sad, brought tears but at the same time so angry. We got a chance to see Ryder as a young man showing the love and loyalty to Cobra and the Scorpio Stingers. The brotherhood of the club is tested when Cobra makes a decision that will forever change his life. Seeing some of the brothers as young men helps to understand even more their loyalty and love they have for each other.
This is a great read that picks up from the Bikers Christmas story and is part of the Scorpio Stinger Series and needs to be read in order to get the full back story. I recommend this to anyone with a love of bikers.
Book 3 in the Scorpion Stinger MC series. Although each book in this series focuses on a specific couple, the storyline is continuous and each couples story arc weaves throughout each book. For this reason, it is important to read these books in the order in which they were written to understand both the characters background and the story arc as a whole.
So we have finally come to Cobra and Mia's story. As I've already said, unlike other series', Jani Kay has cleverly interwoven each characters story into all the books. What that has done for me personally, is to ensure I am already sucked in and invested in the cast as a whole. It also means that as a reader you slip back into the world she has created easily. This book in particular is the one I've been waiting for. I assume at this point that you have read the previous books. If you haven't, then you may want to stop reading this review now.
Cobra and Mia's love has never been in question. Their lives of late however, have been filled with drama. We met Mia very early on in this series; when she was hiding out, under the protection of Ryder as Cobra recovered from near fatal gunshot wounds. Cobra is the MC's president and he is tough. He takes no prisoners and in return he is loyal. He holds his club and family close and his world revolves around Mia and his children.
So at the end of book 2, Jamie, their son, had been abducted. Demon, Cobra's twin, had mysteriously returned from the dead and taken Jamie, leading Mia to reveal that he had brutally raped her and that Jamie may well be the result of that attack. It meant I started this book not only broken-hearted for Cobra and Mia, but eager to learn more about them, their history, and that of Demon's - the identical twin that Cobra unapologetically despises. This book travels in both the past and present. It is an epic love story between 2 people destined to be together. They will face obstacles, both inside and outside the club. If they thought the pathway to now was hard, that has nothing on how they are dealing with the lingering effects that demon has had on their relationship.
This is a love story based on a instant, innocent attraction. A story of taking a chance on love, following your heart and holding onto that love even when guilt and hatred threaten it. It also tackles sibling rivalry and how jealousy can break the bonds between innocents, leading to obsession and hatred. It is a story that spans many years and it - for me - is the best book in the series so far!
Jani Kay has a really clever way of writing a complicated story, without weighing it down with too many words. I love the way that each book, although focused on a particular couple, interweaves every characters story and moves onto the next book seamlessly. It means that each book gets to the nitty gritty. It isn't padded out with unnecessary plot, resulting in a fast paced and gripping read. Having said that, Jani has really focused her attention on Cobra and Mia in this book. I thought that this was essential at this point in the series, and it has started to tie the plot together as a whole. But will they get their HEA? You best get 1-clicking to find out!
I now look forward to book 4, which will be Harrison's book - now that is an interesting character. Jani Kay has set the bar high with this book. Gods and Monsters will be a hard book to follow, but man, I can't friggin wait - Bring it on!!
GODS & MONSTERS is part of the Scorpio Striger Mc series. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Jani Kay. And damn am I happy that I did it has been my favorite so far in the series. This is the story of Cobra and his identical brother Daemon, And the love of Cobras life Mia. This book had the right balance between dark and intense and it keeps you hooked from start to finish. The difference between the identical twin brothers.. And how one fights to try keep his soul pure. And the other allowing the darkness and malice to take over his soul and turn it to pure evil. My god Jani let's you see from the start what type of evil walked among the men of Scorpio Striger Mc. How one man's jealousy and hatred has pushed him to try and destroy everything that his twin brother has worked and fought hard for in his life. And he knows exactly what it will take to destroy his brother most and that's by going after the love of his brothers life and their son Jamie. Will Cobra and Mia get their son Jamie back ? How will Cobra deal with a secret that Mia has kept from him for years? Can Cobra and Mia's love remain strong and pure throughout all this turmoil in their lives? Will Daemon meet his maker? All the above questions Will be answered in this book. Trust me this is one book you really need to read Jani out did herself with this story absolutely brilliant .
Jani Kay didn't waste a single sentence in this little gem of a biker story. Cobra's and Mia's story is tightly and seductively told. There isn't a ton of sex in this one, but there is plenty of love, passion, and emotion conveyed.
Cobra is faced with an enemy that he has fought against his entire life, his twin brother Daemon. Daemon has always felt less than when compared to his brother and because of his jealousy and insecurity he lashes out at everyone around him, but most especially against Cobra. When Cobra finds everything that he could ever want in Mia Daemon naturally wants to destroy any happiness between them.
Mia is a much stronger woman than anyone knows. She has carried a secret that is dramatically revealed. The secret threatens the happiness that she has managed to build with Cobra. In GODS & MONSTERS we get to see Mia's beginning with Cobra as well as what lengths Mia will have to go through to keep her happily ever after when the unforgivable happens.
If you enjoy having a bit of agony along with your romance then GODS & MONSTERS will give you a bite of pain along with your ecstasy! Pain, betrayal, a psychotic family member, and love triumphant are all packed into GODS & MONSTERS. This is one of the few times where I did not feel even a little disappointed that a story was told in such a short book. This short story covered a lot of ground and provided a lot of satisfaction!
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
I would love to thank Jani for providing me with an ARC of this book. I have read a few of Jani's books and loved every one of them.
Cobra Malone has a twin that was born 5min after him. Daemon is exactly that a demon in my eyes he is evil, the black sheep not a good bone in his body, always starting fights always looking for blood. Cobra and Mias story starts when Cobra is 16 and she is 11, they meet on Cobras first ride for the club to do business with the Mexican cartel, but as soon he gets there he is warned off her by her father. Lets just say they do not have an easy ride at all, but it is a love story none the less.
This book is not for the faint hearted, and Jani describes it to such detail you feel like you are there seeing it right before your eyes. We also get to see Ryder again and he proved to me why i loved him in the first place lol. I loved the story line and all the characters well except one of course lol It was one hell of a roller-coaster ride, but damm it was worth every second of torture my heart felt. If you want to see how Mia and Cobra's roller-coaster story plays out READ IT!!! you wont regret it. If you want to see how bad Daemon really is READ IT!!!if you want to see if Good wins over Evil READ IT!!! WELL DONE JANI ANOTHER MUST READ HAS BEEN WRITTEN!!!
After reading this book, my heart is in a shock. The raw reality and emotions that can come from a love so powerful like Cobra and Mia's, it's ELECTRIFYING! Ageless, timeless even...ugh it makes you second guess any relationship you've ever had. The lengths Cobra and Mia have gone thru to have one another. The age difference, living in two separate countries, couldn't even dim the connection these two had from the beginning. And when everything seems to go to shit and they still come back on top? REMARKABLE! I can't even put into a coherent sentence obviously, how much I loved this book. I love Ryder and Jade and even Harrison and Eva are making their way into my heart but I think Cobra and Mia, very well, took over my soul.
I recommend the WHOLE series and pretty much anything written by this author. A true gift not many possess comes from this woman's mind. Can't wait to see what happens w Harrison and Eva. That man needs a happy ending <3
The brotherhood of the Stingers was one of the first MC books I read and I was hooked from the first page. I loved how her story drew me in and made me care, I needed to know the why and how. After reading Ryder and Jade's story I wanted, no I needed too know more about Cobra and Mia and in Gods and Monsters Jani delivered. There are some disturbing elements in this book but I can see why they are needed and how skillfully they are woven into the story. I am truly awed that what I felt about the love story outweighed the negative aspects and made me so emotionally invested that I had to finish, had to know if they got to their happily ever after. The epilogue killed me. I had to go back and read it twice. Marvelous job, great read that keeps this ride alive and thriving, can't wait for the next stop with the Scorpio Stingers.
I was given a complimentary copy of God's & Monsters by Jani Kay And boy was I a lucky girl, as Jani has out done herself with this one, it is absolutely fantastic all my boxes were terrifically ticked
Without giving even an once of information away, as I do not want to spoil it at all for you
It contained all that you absolutely need for your Scorpio Stinger MC fix,
Loads of hot bikers, Massive dramatic scenes, Intense Relationship Woes
Suspense Intrigue Has that absolute WOW factor A definite passion for LOVE throughout
There are some frikken OMG scenes But I was hooked from chapter one, throughout
This is the best Scorpio Stinger MC book yet!!!! Jani Kay has completely outdone herself!!!! This is the story of Cobra & Mia & Daemon & it is intense. It takes up right where the Bikers Christmas story left off. It also includes the back story for Cobra & Mia.
The relationships in this book are complicated, to say the least, but Jani Kay is a superb storyteller & she manages to weave a seamless tale. There is a scene in this book that may be considered a trigger for some but it is pivotal to the story & is in no way gratuitous.
Thank you, Jani Kay, for once again giving us a book that, for me, was almost impossible to put down.
I love The Scorpio Stinger MC books and this is my favorite to date. This is the story of Cobra,Daemon and Mia. From the first page it pulls you in taking you on an emotional journey of love, lies, deception and everything inbetween. Please note there is a part which might be difficult for some people to read but it is tastefully and compassionately written and is an integral part of the story so be aware. The epilogue for me was perfection, the perfect ending. Love all the guys in the MC and can't wait to read more. This series is a must read for lovers of MC books, you won't be disappointed. 5******
Ok I read this book and found my heart broken and then fixed all in one book . This was one of my fav books that Jani wrote I can't be,I've how real and deep this book was it was just wow Cobra made me feel things for him that I hadn't before demon lol is still at total prick sorry but true Ryder is still mmmmm But the story will take you into the heart of this whole journey and sweep you away This was an easy 5 stars I loved it Jani pure brilliance on a page x
From the very first book in this series I was really wanting Mia and Cobra’s story because you could just tell that their relationship was strong even when it may have seemed weak. I know that may not make sense but if you have read the rest of the series I think you will be able to understand what I meant by that without giving anything away. When I found out about Gods & Monsters I jumped at the opportunity to sign up for the tour because I had a feeling this was going to be a damn good book, and it was and so much more.
I love how we get to see Mia and Cobra’s relationship from the beginning, how they from the very first touch were connected even when it was so wrong because of Mia’s age. We also get to see Cobra and Daemon’s relationship, how they acted towards each other and you can see why Cobra and Ryder hated him as much as they did. Mia and Cobra were the other half of each’s souls and you can see that as their relationship progresses and how they want to protect each other from pain.
I knew deep down that this story was going to be emotional and at times possible harder to read than the rest because of Daemon’s involvement but what I honestly didn’t expect was to be wanting more of Daemon’s POV. If Jani Kay were to write a book on Daemon alone I would read it because you know to understand the monster inside of him you need to understand his thoughts, why he was the way he was.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to read this series yet, please make time because you won’t be disappointed I guarantee you that. Jani Kay has drawn me into the Scorpio Stingers MC world and I want more of these bikers right now.
Wow Jani Kay has done it again another 5***** gripping read.
Gods & Monsters is the story of Cobra, his twin Daemon and his soul mate Mia.
This book is very different to the rest in this series but equally has good, in fact for me it was the best.
Although Gods & Monsters did not contain a lot of hot sex that we have seen in the previous books, it was still a hot, heart warming story with some very sad and disturbing issues. Jani draws you into the life's and strong brotherhood between the Scorpio Stingers and the hardest fights Cobra has had to live through.
This story needed to be told and I believe Jani has produced an outstanding book with Gods & Monsters ~ Highly recommend along with the rest of this amazing series.
I am now counting down for the next in the Scorpio Stinger MC Series.
Wow, by far my favourite so far. I was fortunate to receive a copy for my honest review. In this book you will read about how Cobra and Mia meet. The horrors they go through to be together. You will learn about the secrets that could tear them apart. Then there is the twin brother Deamon. You get to know his true evil side but will also get an Insight to his anger and hatred for his brother. From the moment you start the book you can't put it down. I was at the edge of my seat through out. There are some sensitive subjects to deal with but they are an important part of the story and were dealt with very tasteful. On the other hand the bond of the brotherhood, especially between Ryder and Cobra truly comes through in this story. Congratulations Jani. A great 5 star read once again.
Gods & Monsters is the perfect name for this epic tale of love, hate, family, betrayal and pain. I love this series created by the brilliant Jani Kay and I have been waiting with baited breath for Cobra and Mia's story. A warning to sensitive readers though that some of the content of the book does detail sexual assault. Two people could not be more different than Cobra and Daemon, although physically they are identical, that is where the similarities end. Cobra is a fair and just man, although he is tough as nails. Daemon can best be summarised as pure evil. He is constantly looking for ways to bring his brother down - he has no loyalty, but because he is a patched in brother he still has to be considered a brother. Daemon has cursed Cobra all their lives because of the fact that he is 5 minutes younger. He believes that everything that is wrong in his life can be pinpointed to the fact that he is the younger twin. He is on the brink of insanity and will do anything in his power to take everything that Cobra has, including his wife and child. Jani Kay provides readers with Cobra and Mia’s backstory, and I love the insight we get into how their love began. There was nothing easy about how their life started, but what developed between them also seemed destined by fate or kismet and there was never a chance that they would be torn apart by anyone, regardless of the warnings, fears, and repercussions that awaited them if they were caught. Cobra and Mia share a fierce love, one that is fiercely tested throughout the telling of this book, but the two share a bond that is unbreakable and impenetrable. Although they both endure things that rip them apart and shatter their lives, they hold on and fight even when the going gets tough. We are also shown the reason for Cobra and Ryder being tied so closely together and the development of the bond between Mia and Ryder. I loved how Jani Kay juxtapositioned the light and darkness of the story. On the one hand we have the hopelessness of the situation, but concurrently we have the strength of these bonds which give hope and light to the reader. Daemon is evil and depraved - he is the perfect villain, someone we all love to hate. It is clear there is no coming back from the darkness that inhibits his body and soul. He is pure evil and he wants to possess and destroy everything that his brother has. He performs the ultimate betrayal against his twin, his brother and his club - however the truth of this does not come to light until much later in the book. The truth will have you reeling and literally gasping for air. It will leave you devastated and broken. Mia and Cobra have had to endure so much throughout this book - beginning from when they first meet and right through to the end. The strength that Jani Kay writes into these characters is beyond amazing. We are taken through the emotions that flow through them on a journey that will leave your heart broken and aching. Never have two characters deserved their happy ending more than these two. This is a journey of righting wrongs and healing hurts and then finally trying to move forward. Gods & Monsters is the story that we have all been waiting for - it regales how the Scorpio Stingers began (at least under Cobra's leadership). It also is the beginning of Cobra and Mia's story. I loved the insight we gain into the ties that bind each of the brothers in this series and where and how they began. I loved this emotional and harrowing story that is so beautifully told by Jani Kay. It is a must read for anyone that loves the lifes and loves of the MC world. Scorpio Stingers are definitely one of my favorite band of brothers and I cannot wait to see what comes next. I am giving Gods & Monsters 4.5 sizzling stars.
Gods & Monsters is the perfect name for Cobra and Mia’s story because that’s exactly what has existed in both of their worlds both as individuals and as a couple. There has never been a time where they haven’t felt both the pleasure and the pain of their existence due to those who surround their lives with love and those who plague them with agony and chaos.
For Cobra, being a twin is more of a curse than a blessing due to the demon spawn who was born just five minutes after him. Daemon has spent his entire existence feeling like a second class citizen behind Cobra, and Daemon’s not afraid to let everyone know his disdain for being in the shadows of his brother, and he’s also quite vocal in his actions to claim everything that Cobra holds dear, especially Mia.
Jani Kay provides readers with Cobra and Mia’s backstory, and I love the insight we get into how their love began. There was nothing easy about their courtship, but what developed between them was also something that wasn’t going to be prevented by anyone, regardless of the warnings, fears, and repercussions that awaited them if they were caught. Cobra and Mia share a fierce love that cannot be denied, and even though it’s tested due to those seeking to terrorize and destroy them, the strength of their bond and the determination to survive is what will carry Cobra and Mia through even the most hopeless of situations. Readers also understand how and why Cobra and Ryder are tied so closely together and how the bond between Mia and Ryder began. These are the parts of the story that illustrate the light in the darkness…the hope despite the pain…the will to survive regardless of the torment from outside forces.
But the other parts of the story…they depict the things of nightmares…the demons that lurk in the darkness – in this case one demon in particular. Daemon’s evil intent is clearly demonstrated throughout the text until it explodes off of the pages, rendering everyone involved somewhat helpless despite the desire to defend. These sections in the Cobra and Mia’s story are dark and unforgiving, and Jani Kay does a great job of illustrating the sickness that is Daemon and how it eviscerates others. These parts are not easy to read, but they are essential to understanding Daemon’s depravity and his endless attempts to be the brother who gets whatever he wants whenever he wants regardless if it’s someone else’s or not.
Gods & Monsters is the insight that readers need to see where the Scorpion Stinger MC brotherhood began…at least with Cobra and his crew; it’s the backstory of a life worth fighting for; it’s the first glimpses of a brotherhood bond that can never be destroyed and one that didn’t stand a chance even before inception. It’s a must read for Jani Kay readers!

~*~ Obsessed by Books arc given in exchange for an honest review ~*~
"He deserved to die. Under Cobra's hand, he'd wish he was never born. Cobra would show no mercy this time to leave him breathing."
This Scorpio Stinger book focuses on Cobra, Mia and their beginnings. Their high octane, risk filled past has been alluded to several times by Ryder in previous books and we finally learn why Ryder at times has felt hurt by Cobra's attitude to Princess. Written mainly in a dual pov we watch as the attraction sparks into life between two star crossed kids and bursts into a wild fire that neither one can put out.
Interwoven is the club's present, young Jamie missing, the troubles of the club and the fine balance of power within the MC. We learn how Cobra became the man we first see in the Scorpio Stinger MC, a fierce Prez that will go down swinging for the people he loves. Having been born into a fight he didn't understand Cobra is honed into a killing machine not by choice but through blood. His twin Daemon, born just 5 minutes after him constantly drawibg up battle lines. The twins, a perfect reflection of each other, a mirror image and the polar opposite in personality. The sibling rivalry so great that nothing is sacred.
Demon, as he becomes known in the MC, will stop at nothing to exact his revenge and to claim Mia. This is as much his story as it is Cobra's. He is driven by his need to win, to excel...to be seen and to matter. Yet he has a dark edge and urges that he fails to ignore. He is a man without limits and morals. Punishing his twin for being born first, for being the better man.
This is a heart wrenching, stomach churning read. From the dusty plains of Mexico to inside the MC walls every page is full of angst and anguish. Mia has been through so much already; a miscarriage, almost losing her husband and her son missing. Yet we learn of how she came to be Cobra's old lady and my heart broke for the young child who was sold for profit and personal gain. For her mother who could save herself but valiantly risked herself for her child. Mia is a remarkable character. Her secret is one that may yet break her, tearing the man she risked everything for away from her.
Gods and Monsters has harrowing scenes and Demon really has no redeeming features, he makes no apology for his nature...he feels justified that the ends justify the means. Although filled with action, drama and peril we also have the passion we are accustomed to in Jani's novels. It's also heart warming to see how strong the brotherhood is and the lengths they are prepared to go to for one another. The MC is a unit, a family. As for brother's...I can't wait to get stuck into Harrison's story!
Gods & Monsters (Scorpio Stinger MC #3) By: Jani Kay 5/5 stars
*I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.*
This is Cobra & Mia’s story. We know quite the main points of Cobra & Mia’s story, about how he took her from Mexico to save her & to marry her, about their epic love for each other, their past and their present. Cobra is the president of the Scorpio Stingers. We know that Cobra & Mia’s son, Jamie, was kidnapped by Cobra’s twin, Demon, who claims that Jamie is his child.
The book starts in the past, from when Cobra & Mia (Alessandra, her given name) first meet each other at her father’s house in Mexico. It’s Cobra’s first time on the Mexico run with his dad at the age of 16 and Mia is 11 years old. They encounter each other and are fascinated by each other and Mia calms Cobra. This is when Cobra first learns that Mia is already promised to Don Pedro to become his wife on her 17th birthday.
We get to see various stages separately in their lives over the next several years, and even the meetings where the MC travels to Mexico. We see their feelings for each other grow. Cobra feels helpless in the situation, because if he helps out Mia that screws the club and the club is always supposed to come first. Mia longs for Cobra, dreams of him, and develops feelings.
The first 57% of the book is all written in the past. We learn of how they were able to escape Mexico, but the part where they build their lives in California is left out. We’re given a few sentences of how they were soon married and lived at the Scorpio Stingers compound and then the timeframe jumps to present day. I think that this was mainly because Mia would have only been about a month shy of her 17th birthday, and with Cobra being 22, some readers may have been squeamish about those sex scenes. Personally, they wouldn’t have bothered me, but I know underage sex is a hard limit for many readers.
The present day picks up where A Biker Christmas novella left off, where Cobra & Mia’s relationship is still stressed, especially when Mia lets out a secret. I believe that this was alluded to in the previous book or the Christmas novella. Cobra, Mia, the club and the police are doing everything they can to find Jamie and Demon and to return Jamie home to his parents. We do get a short scene with Harrison, and most of the book has both Rider & Razor, but Jade & Eva aren’t in this book.
The epilogue hurt my heart for every child born that has ever felt that way, justified or not. Also the teaser chapter for book four which will be about Harrison & Eva was awesome and I cannot wait for their book! Write Jani Write!!
Gods & Monsters takes us into the world of Cobra, the president of the Scorpio Stingers MC, and his woman, his life, his wife, his Mia. We've had glimpses of Cobra and Mia's life together since the beginning of this series, but with G&M we get everything...from their first innocent meeting to the fight they are now facing. To appreciate this story fully you need to first read the previous books in the series, as it picks up where A Biker Christmas leaves off...with the club in an uproar over the evil-doings of Cobra's vile twin Daemon, aptly known as Demon.
G&M is different from Ryder and Jade's books...it doesn't have quite the "hot" factor you might have come to expect, (although we do get to see, and enjoy, that side of Cobra!), it's darker and deals with the rougher side of mc life. This book has some scenes that may be tough for certain people to deal with, but they are so pivotal and important to this story. I think Jani Kay does a great job of handling them in a way that suits the situations without being too graphic or disturbing.
If you've been wanting more of Cobra, G&M will certainly satisfy that craving! With this book we get to see him as a young man, just starting to get fully involved in the mc life; as the President of the club, dealing with both the business and family sides of running it; as a husband and father, trying to handle everything that has been thrown at him as he works to get his son back. Cobra is a complex character with a lot of depth and we get to see all aspects of this as we take this ride with him.
It may have been a case of insta-love/lust with Cobra and Mia in the beginning, but in this book you get to see how much they both really and truly love each other, as they have to deal with a parents worst nightmare. It's heartbreaking at times, but the strength of the love these 2 share helps them overcome the difficulties they face. You know as long as they have each other they will be able to face anything that comes their way.
I have really enjoyed this series so far, it's definitely become one of my favorites in the mc genre, and I can't wait for more!
Gods & Monsters by Jani Kay is a different book to the previous Scorpio Stingers MC series, this one is much darker and more personal than the usual high drama and passion fuelled novels. This is book 3 in the series and in order to truly enjoy this book I'd recommend reading the prior books.
This book goes back to the current Scorpio Stingers MC Prez's childhood. We see how Cobra Malone became the man he is today as his past and the MC's are intrinsically linked along with how his twin Daemon who was exposed and brought up the same way was always his opposite and constant cross to bear. Plus, Jani provides the history we've all been wanting about Mia and Cobra's beginnings and the events that led up to their son Jamie's kidnapping in book 2.
We see how Cobra and Mia had an instant connection upon meeting but was a relationship that was filled with danger and conflict from the start. Jani asks the question throughout this book can you defy obligations, family and loyalty and even your own blood and still get to keep what you've always wanted or will the monster inside you have to be unleashed to keep what you rightfully see as yours??
I enjoyed this walk in the dark side by Jani. You felt the emotions pouring off the page from Mia and Cobra; their lust, love and anguish. I can't say more as I don't want to ruin your experience for you of seeing if Daemon or Cobra will win the battle of what they both see as theirs and what brotherhood really means to the Scorpion Stingers MC members when faced with some difficult choices.

Gods and Monsters is book 3 in the "Scorpio Stinger MC" series. Each book really needs to be read in order to understand the characters and get the full understanding of the story. Gods and Monsters is about Cobra, Daemon's twin and Mia. This story was just as great as the other books in the series but it was also a different story and a lot lighter on the sex aspect of the story, unlike the other books. There are a lot of very rough scenes throughout the story, but the author wrote them very well and with care and consideration and although some people may find some of the scenes difficult to read, they are necessary to the story and especially the back story of Cobra. I did find some of the scenes slightly difficult to read, but I really enjoyed learning about Cobras whole story and each part was necessary, interesting and essential to the story. I enjoyed learning how Mia and Cobra met and how they got to where they are to day. The story was heart warming, upsetting, dramatic, intriguing, passionate and full of hot bikers...what met could you ask for in a book?! This is my favourite book of the whole series. The author drew me in straight away. I liked learning more about the MC, the loyalty and brotherhood. Cobra was the sort of character that you don't just forget. His story and his whole persona were sad and heart breaking, but at the same time I enjoyed reading his whole story and all I wanted for him was a very happy ending. Reading all the tough parts made his journey more worth while and more special. This was great journey that Jani Kay wrote and most definitely my favourite of the series so far. 4.5 Stars
Most people have the little angel on one shoulder and the little devil in the other whispering in their ear. One says to do good, at least be as good as you can under the circumstances you are in. Protect those around your inner circle and especially protect the woman you've claimed as yours. That other one is giggling as he pokes you with his pointy spear. He's painting pictures in your mind of evil, pain and destruction of everyone around you. He wants you to do anything and everything imaginable to get what you want at any cost. Steal it, coerce for it, and if that fails kill for it. Now imagine those two beings actually living. Cobra and Daemon have never had that close twin bond. Identical in body but one soul blacker than the center of the devil's eye. Whatever Cobra has, Daemon wants. Not to possess it for himself, but to simply take it from Cobra. Especially Cobra's beautiful wife Mia. This book in the Scorpio Stingers saga has a lot of dark elements relating to one brother's mental weakness. His breakdown from what little sanity he has left, and his older brother's struggle to not end him for the betterment of everyone around him. This book is one of the best of the series. It goes deep into Cobra & Mia's relationship and their beginning. I was confused by the timeline of the story, especially at Chapter 26, the story jumped and I couldn't find the connection. I wasn't sure how we got to that point but the further you went into the chapter I pieced it together. This book was a winner. Jani Kay has never failed to pull me completely into her books. This series is one that you hope goes on for a very long time. Awesome job.
Revenge. Grudges. Rivalry, it's such a scary thing. Brothers by blood. Hate rooted so deep. Revenge, a long time in the making. Two twin brothers. Identical but with different heart, souls & personalities. At age eleven Alessandra laid eyes upon Cobra and knew. Deeply knew he was it. He was the one and only for her. Years of making job runs to Mexico, Cobra learns some disturbing news. News he's been thinking about while trying to deny himself of his one true want. Alessandra. Cobra has had time to think about what's to come. About what's in store & about to happen to Alessandra if he doesn't get his shit in gear. His thoughts in the right place. One night changes everyone who became involved. Changes who all are now, in the present. This is where Daemon’s plan his revenge. Hate running deeply to the root of his pours & bones toward Cobra. Let's the maniac games begin. Cobra & Mia have created such a happy family. All Mia’s dreams have come true, however one night of confusion & terror rip apart the seams of a joyous family. Dealing with the aftermath tore me into three!!! Mia keeping the events to herself to protect Cobra. Cobra trying to read in between the lines. During all this one little boy is in a game of tug and war! Revenge is in the making and done done. So much more payback is in store for this couple. Will Cobra and Mia ever get to be the same happy, loving couple? Get there earned & well deserved happy ever after? This'll put your emotions all over the place. Trying to feel for all involved. I was graciously gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review!! LOVED GODS & MONSTERS TENFOLD:)
