Laura Smith writes with precision and honesty in the third book of her popular Status Update series. College girls need to read this entire series. It’s Addicting, even more than the first two books, asks readers to consider their own lives and the blinders we all wear. The college roommates in this series, and especially in this book, struggle with the most authentic of issues—the sometimes subtle but often overwhelming addictions we all cling to. In the end, the answers aren’t easy or pretty, but Smith, with characteristic gentleness, pushes readers to see that clarity and hope come from one place—a God who seeks us as fiercely as we seek Him.

Another book bin the Status Update Series that completely carried me away. It was a lot of fun to hang out with the girls, Hannah, Palmer, Kat, and Claire again.

Like the previous two books its full of laughter, pain, cries, and everything else anyone going to college deals with. The books are real in its sense it could totally happen, and I love that. It does not only deal with the falling in love aspect, but so much more that comes with being around that age. And you want to know a lovely bonus? It takes yu to Germany! Nice hopping back and forth between the USA and Europe, really like it!

The real world greets the roommates as each branches out into her own niche. THE REAL WORLD. No sanitized Christian fiction here. Yet nothing explicit, excessive, or gratuitous, either.
I liked how the roomies depended on each other, but each moved forward pursuing their unique talents and interest, going in different directions but remaining solid friends.
About that friendship. It wouldn’t be “real life” if potholes didn’t spring up along the friendship journey. They do but no spoilers here.
They faced realistic “addictions”. The kind every college student will stumble upon. The true power of fiction is revealed when readers see themselves between the covers of a book and find hope and inspiration for tackling their own life issues. It’s Addicting hits that mark.

Reread review: 3-3.5, I think I'd like to rate this 3.5 rounded down for goodreads. I liked this one better than last time, though I still think there should have been another book in between this book and the previous one, because there's things in this book that either don't have any buildup or not enough build up from the previous books. It feels like we see the most of Palmer and Claire's friendship in this book yet it still doesn't seem like much. I did still like what we saw from them. I feel like their relationship was kind of one sided with Palmer mainly doing things for Claire so when Claire expressed concern for Palmer towards the end that was sweet to see. One interesting aspect that I wish we saw a little bit more of is Claire and Kat's friendship I'm a little sad this reread of the series is over and I wish I could see more of these girls but I'm excited for my reads for the rest of this year as well.
Content: some descriptive kisses, a scene of ending up on someone's couch and not knowing what happened, oh yeah, some drinking content.

So when I started this book I initially wanted to give it two stars because I didn’t get why there was a big time jump between the second book and this one. After I got over that I liked it. Though to that point there could have absolutely been a book between this book and the second one, it didn’t even have to be as long as the rest of the series. I guess Laura L Smith is just committed to writing trilogies.
We get to see more of Claire and Palmer’s friendship than we saw in the other books, so that was great.
Kat and Nicholas are so cute! Sad we didn’t get to see them together that much.
I don’t know what else to say
