I am new to this author and her writings, but this will not be my last book. This book captured my attention and held it thur the entire book. The characters have a depth that is not normally read in most books. Backfire and Kat set the pages on fire with their back and forth dialog . They just seem to flow together and enjoy it. Kat is new to the state, and is looking to make it her home and to start her business. She is lonely and dreams of a finding a Motorcycle man to warm her nights, what she isn’t ready for was Backfire, he is totally out of her wheelhouse, but they work. Backfire is feeling his age and loneliness, he’s thinking of getting his own digs so he can have some peace from the hang around and the bunnies. He sees Kat at the neighborhood bar and wants her instantly, she is hot, but gets even better when he finds out she rides her own Harley. They click in a way a lot of people do not and it can be cute and it could be dangerous. When Kat is being bothered by someone in the area and they start to harass her, the Club comes to help her out because Backfire claims her as his ol’lady. They take care of the problem and between Kat, and the Club they form a partnership to produce one of a kind bikes.
Kat has dual nationality being both American and British. She has spent the last 2 decades in the UK and has moved to Florida looking for more excitement. She rides her own Harley and paints designer tank decals. She has been getting regular police visits ever since she declared an interest in a unit nearby.
She goes out one evening with her friend to a local biker bar. She is hoping to meet someone that suits her wishes to have a non mc biker boyfriend. She meets backfire who is wearing a support T for a local mc and agrees to meet him for a ride the next weekend.
Backfire is a full member of the local mc, which she learns when she meets him for the ride. She does go on the ride and meet the old ladies and learns that the club is different from those she knew in the UK.
This is an unusual story in some ways as there is no cheating, or dark themes just the more usual alpha male biker and as normal a villain after the girl.
One thing that definitely took some adjusting too and that I’m not sure how I feel about is the way the POVs were set up. At times the POV changed for one sentence from the other character and I both liked it and disliked it at the same time. It was nice to see the others POV during certain times but the set up just threw me off at first as it’s not a style I’m used to.
Other than that, it was a great story. It wasn’t a cutesy romance but more realistic and I enjoyed that. The MC side is more tame compared to what I’m used to reading but still good. They are a family and that’s my favorite part of MC romances, seeing how they interact as a family. I loved Kay and Backfire and how they’re characters and relationship grew. I will definitely read more from this author.
Devil Seeker was an enjoyable, compact read. The first in a series - it introduces the Cycle Devil’s MC and the two main characters - Kat and Backfire.
Kat is a native Brit, who’s moved to the US in search of a more exciting life. She’s an atypical female - she’s obsessed with motorbikes, and works as an artist designing custom bike tanks and helmets.
Backfire is your typical alpha-male mc brother. And at first, Kat questions whether Backfire is who she’s looking for in a man. But soon they become so entwined in each other’s lives - it’s impossible for them to see a future other than one where they are together.
You’ll find Devil Seeker to be a quick paced with great characters. In places the dialogue seems a bit clunky, and overly formal. But all in all a rewarding read.
Kat and Backfires story was an awesome way to start a new series. Kat had moved from England to Florida where she wanted to open her own business and find a biker just not the one she found. Kat was not to sure if she and Backfire could work because he was in a MC. However they decide to take a chance. Kat had gotten on the radar of people who didn’t want her to open her business. Backfire went into protector mode. This is an amazing book. Kat is a strong woman who knows what she wants and we see her and Backfires relationship. It was awesome. Can’t wait to see what happens next
Kat moves to Florida to grow her business and while she is looking for a man, she doesn't want one in an MC. Backfire just wants an occasional one night stand and nothing more. Unfortunately for them, neither are getting what they thought they wanted.
This was a fun story to read and had a cute romance with it. Backfire and Kat don't necessarily have a cute romance, they actually have more of a realistic one than anything, but just their love for each other was sweet. They have one of the more solid relationships I've read in an MC romance, since it wasn't built on lies or false ideas like many others.
This is the first book I've read from Clare Power and I have to say amazing. Backfire is man who is tired and bored of the same thing, he wants to find a female he use and them not go overboard and become clingy. Kat wants a biker man that she can share love for bikes with but not a MC biker. But things change for both of them at warp speed, and they both couldn't be happier. The instant connection and chemistry between them is amazing. He is a domineering protective American and she is a spitfire independent English woman. It is a must read and good book.

Kat recently moved to Florida from England - her dad is American and her mom is English. She rides her own bike and is a custom painter which includes painting motorcycle tanks. While out one day she runs into Backfire and there's an immediate mutual attraction. He invites her out for charity run with his club and that starts something neither one expected.
Kat is nothing like Backfire is used to and that's part of what draws him in. They both weren't looking for forever but that's what they found. I enjoyed their story and look forward to reading the next in this series.
I was very entertained with the MC story from this new-to-me author. A bit tamer than the usual MC books I normally read, but still plenty of action, steam and drama. Backfire and Kat were a couple with chemistry and grew that into a solid relationship. I am looking forward to more of this series with these two characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between the club members, blood family members and non-club members. I am looking forward the next book in this series.
This is my first read from this author, and I would definitely read her books again. Kat and Backfire seem to have a quick intense romance that leads to their hea. Loved these two especially together, Kat is strong-willed and independent and that's the one thing she's scared to lose in a relationship. Backfire needs a woman to keep him on his toes and one to protect, and that is exactly what he got.
Devil Seeker is a different kind of MC book than I typically read. It's more on the calm side, but I completely enjoyed Backfire and Kat's story. These two had lots in common particularly their love of bikes so that in itself made a good foundation for the start of their relationship. This is a new to me author and I'm excited for the next book in this series!
A new to me author, and I wasnt quite sure what I expected but was more than pleasantly surprised. A true MC romance with intrigue, humour, a little bit of kidnapping, vandalism, and mayhem as well as a great story that kept me entertained till the last page. Looking forward to reading more from this author
Kat and Backfire’s story was slow but sweet! This is the type of relationship that every woman hopes for and only few are lucky to get! I absolutely loved it, it was wonderfully written and can’t wait to read more from the CDMC!
Loving this new series Love the cdmc Backfire and Kats intense emotional heartstopping action packed insta love story Gripping Ready for more Ready for Trash and Jack Need what the devil wants
I have mixed feelings about this book . It lacked something for me . I felt the main character was a bit wishy washy when it come to her feelings about an MC and certain scenes were just unrealistic.
~~~~3.5 Stars~~~~ The story of Kat (Katrina) and Backfire (aka Sean). Kat is new to the U.S., having moved from England. She's a very talented painter, and due to her obsession with motorcycles, she tends to paint on gas tanks, leather vests, helmets, etc. Backfire is a motorcycle fabricator (aka - builds and designs bikes). He also belongs to an MC club. When the two meet in the paint section of a hardware store, it's lust at first sight. He invites her to come to a charity bike run, and she accepts. Hence where the love story begins. I have recently read a few MC books, and find that I love the gritty, down and dirty bikers and their alpha ways. This book --- is NOT that. While it has mentions of violent acts, it completely skims over it. Times when there could have been great action sequences, were skimmed over, in favor of boring "MC family day games". In fact, I felt as though most of the good parts of the story were skimmed over for nonsense. Time is skipped from just a few days after they meet, and we just have to accept that somehow they fell in love, etc. I also do not understand the author's obsession with typing words in the 'English' style when Kat is thinking, versus 'U.S.' when Backfire is thinking. It should only be different if say - Kat is writing something. All that being said, I think the book has great potential. I really think the author should go back and add/expand some scenes - especially the action/violence sequences. We are really left to imagine what was done, and we've had ZERO reference as to what these "take no prisoners style" of MC brothers actually do to traitors/those that go after their loved ones. As it stands, I would lump this into contemporary romance that just happens to have MC riders in a club. The author has set up for the next book, but it is unclear if this is a continuation of Kat/Backfire, or another couple. Romance Readers received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
I just finish reading this book, and I love it, love the characters, and love how the book turn out to be, I have to say that this book had me laughing, I love it how this boo tell you the story from both point of view, and how it show you that things don't always go how you want them to go, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
The story begging with Kat, she just move to Florida from England, she loves to read books about bikers, she love art and she like to see how Biker world is different from where she comes from. She is loving her new life. Than theirs Backfire, his a member of the Cycle Devils MC, all he want's is to find a woman and get laid, his getting tire of the same thing, he want's something different.
That's when Kat find herself at the store looking for something, and Backfire is looking for some paint, when he see Kat, after exchanging few words Backfire invite her to the party that the club is having, she agree to go but when the time get their and Kat is at the club house, she was never expecting for Backfire to be a patch member, and Backfire never expected to want a woman more than he want's Kat, after that first party Kat life start to change, and things start to happen will they make their relationship just a fling or will it become more.
I really love and enjoy reading this book, love the way how Backfire and Kat are with each other, cant wait to see what will happen next, Author Clare Power THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome book and this amazing characters love them.
This is the first time that I have read anything by this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It is also the first time that I have read a biker book, because it's not a book I would usually go to. However, I enjoyed it! I look forward to book 2.
At the beginning I thought the characters would get on my nerves but as Kat and Backfire got together and their love showed, their personalities changed. I enjoyed seeing how a biker wedding plans out, because boy is it different.
I really wanted to like this book , BUT the fast and small changes between pov didn't gave me the change to build the story and to get to know the characters better. Just when something got interesting the pov changed and I got lost.... The potential is there for sure , but I would maybe propose to the author to write bigger chapters for starters. Never the less it was a good read!
This is a new,author for me and its a different style of Mc. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Luved the biker chick angle. Hot and steamy too. Looking forward to the next bk.
