Coffee: A Short Story

Thomas and Dottie's marriage has grown as stale as day old coffee. One night while his talented daughter is at her piano lesson, Thomas sits in the local coffee house and overhears a couple talking about love and marriage. Inspired by what he has witnessed, he tries to spark up his marriage but Dottie may have moved on to espresso.

Also included is Dear Lawn Care Co., a flash fiction piece about an eccentric homeowner who issues a series of comical concerns about to his lawn care company. Both pieces are from the short story collection, Elephant, which is available in paperback and on Kindle.

Jim Breslin is a short story writer and novelist. He has published work in Think Journal and Metazen and currently lives in West Chester, PA.

Jim Breslin is a writer and former TV producer who worked at QVC for seventeen years. His first novel, SHOPLANDIA, which draws back the curtain on the working lives of show hosts, producers and crew at a home shopping network, came out in May, 2014. His debut collection, Elephant: Short Stories and Flash Fiction, was published in 2011. Jim's fiction has been published in Turk's Head Review, The Molotov Cocktail, Think Journal and Metazen. Jim's first published pieces were even shorter, his tweets were included in the book, The World According to Twitter, which was edited by NYT columnist David Pogue. Jim is the founder of the West Chester Story Slam and the Delco Story Slam.
