My son and I enjoyed this very much. It covered the basics well, including a large amount of info and some great dino profiles, but didn't attempt to hide the places where debates still raged. (Though updating through some net searches is recommended - fun, as well!) It had some odd editing quirks, and a strange pro-carnivore bent in some places (hard to explain), but it was great for inspiring questions and exploring the topics posed. I liked the illustrations quite a bit, and the edition we have is nice and sturdy. It has a pronunciation guide in the back, but not on the individual profiles or in-text, so if you're planning on reading this aloud you might want to brush up first or cheat by watching some good documentaries, lest you find yourself tongue tied during bedtime reading. This one is already a family favourite here!
