The highly anticipated masterpiece written by nine of the most talented interracial authors ever. I am a die-hard fan of each one of these ladies. Sienna Mynx, Aliyah Burke, Tiana Laveen, Latrivia Nelson, Erosa Knowles and others know how to create alpha males and the women who love them.
The stories are riveting and full of suspense, intrigue and unbelievable chemistry between the couples. You can never be disappointed with this superb compilation.
I'm still smiling after reading this Magnificent Story of Kyra and Renaldo's. Oh my Hod, the chemistry between these characters oozed like melting chocolate on a hot fudge Sunday! Dayum, I hate that the story was a Novella opposed to a full fledged Novel because now I have to wait until the Winter for "Amore". Great job as always Sienna. I have to assume that the other stories included in this bundle are just as intriguing if Sienna Mynx agreed to be a part of this package. I can't wait to read more from the bundle.
Sienna is one of my favorite authors. She wrote another great story in the Battaglia Mafia Series. Kyra and Renaldo’s story. I loved this couple and I cannot wait to read more about them. I loved it when Renaldo gave that crazy ex exactly what he deserved. Great read!
Raw Exposure by Aliyah Burke
Aliyah Burke is another great author. I enjoyed Reeve and Affrica’s story. I would have loved to read more about the couple’s interaction with each other and Affrica’s impact on Reeve’s life causing him to change and become a different man to who he was. Those Naval Seals where intimidating to Reeve and he was not afraid to say so either. However, when the right time came he was able to stand up to them all.
Vasliy's Revenge by Latrivia Nelson
I have read all of Latrivia books (except the early life of Dimity) and I love how she writes.
I really enjoyed Vasliy’s and Lilly’s story. It’s good to know that even hard men like Vasliy can fall in love. I could not believe the ending and now I have to wait to November to finding out what happened to Lilly that is way too long to wait. This was a great read I loved it.
The Wrath of Michael by Serenity King
This is Michael and Kendra’s story. I loved the chemistry between them. There are still a whole lot of unanswered questions in this story and we don’t know who took care of the man who tried to hurt Kendra. Another story which leaves you hanging until the rest of the book comes out at a later date. Another good read.
What an amazing boxset! I just couldn't put this collection down. All of the authors created truly memorable characters and lasting romances. Time to go to sleep now... lol
Wouldn't it be marvelous to see Scandalous Heroes 2!
Initially I had rated this set five stars based on the three stories that I read, but now that I've read all of them I am giving a more comprehensive rating. At one point or other, I have read and enjoyed stories by all of the authors in this set. This rating is based SOLELY on the stories included here.
This was classic Battaglia fare. Sienna really outdid herself here. Renaldo was everything I wanted in an enforcer. The scene where he handled his business with Kyra's ex...yes!!! He and Kyra sizzled! Those sex scenes - that is passion done right, people. I literally felt like my hair was frying. There were things that could have been cliche', eg Renaldo's nick of time rescue, that weren't. It was all just top notch story telling. LOVED Jamie, and Kyra's loyalty to her. Appearances by Domi, lawd that man does things to me; I'm so happy Catalina has grown into a woman worthy of him. I had one WTH moment when the Waldorf staff just handed over a key card to Kyra, giving her access to a heavily guarded, private floor with such elite guests. I suspended disbelief and rolled with it. LOVED Renaldo, loved his quiet alphaness and his skill in the bedroom. Makes me just want to board a plane to Italy, but alas I know that men like that are few and far between. Kyra took a little while to grow on me. I didn't really hate her but I was happy when she finally grew up a bit. As per the usual for Sienna, editing was very well done, only one or two small errors. Nothing to write home about. 4.5 stars!

RAW EXPOSURE - Aliyah Burke -
Affrica is the sister of a Navy Seal and Reeve is a spoiled playboy, living in the shadow of his older Navy Seal brother. Reeve was billed as the rude, misunderstood, trouble-making guy with a good heart, but I really didn't find him likeable. I couldn't empathize with him. Having money and being rude for no reason does not make you an alpha male. Affrica going from thinking he was a jerk to fighting her attraction to him in the same sentence, didn't flow smoothly somehow. Still I plugged along, hoping I would start to connect with them. That was thwarted by Affrica's Irish brogue and the fact that she seemed to forget she had it half the time. I was later told that she only used it when she was upset or emotional. I don't recall that but, if that's the angle the author wanted to go with, it might have helped to explain that early on. Affrica would literally go from paragraph upon paragraph of 'American' speech to, seemingly out of nowhere, 'dinna' this and 'mah' that. It was making my scalp shrink. I stuck with it through her foray into the jungle and then I realized that I 'dinna' like either of the characters and in order to keep 'mah' sanity, I needed to abandon ship. DNF. Sorry.
----------------------------------------- EVERYTHING IS EVERYTHING - Pepper Pace (Kindle Location - 4894 - 22%)
I will agree with others that this isn't a 'Scandalous' story, but this story is the truth! The first thing you need to know is that this story is LONNGGGGGG.It is a love story that is built brick by brick, actually you have to wait till they bake the bricks first, because this story is food for the soul on slow broil. It takes us on the journey of Vanessa and Scotty from their childhood in the ghetto, through diverging life paths and their reunion years later as teenagers. This is a solid story, true love in its purest form. When Scotty finally broke down and professed his love to Vanessa, I wanted to cry. You could feel his love for her with every fibre of your being. There is no over the top drama, no sizzling sex (not yet) but just a feel good, curl your toes and sink your teeth in, lovestory. It's very much an ensemble piece and I loved all the characters. Pepper masterfully wove her tale. When I can just lose myself in a story, without having to think 'this makes no kind of sense' I can fully enjoy it and boy, did I! Was totally immersed right down to the epilogue and preview for Chapter 2, when YES, we get another revelation. Jesus, take the wheel! I cannot wait to see what happens when Part 2 goes on sale in August. I will be front and center. 4.75 stars!
Editing left a lot to be desired, but I was more forgiving since it was so long. -----------------------------------------------------
This is really some of Latrivia Nelson's best work. Tight, crisp and bringing the heat. Action packed. Realistic. The different time periods are seamless, the characters three dimensional, the back stories well done. Latrivia really brought her A game here. Her ability to write mafia romance is virtually peerless, save one. She and Sienna are my favorite Mafia authors by spades. I love that they write different nationalities so I can have the best of both worlds.
Vasily is danger and sexiness combined and I loved the family feel of the book without losing the edginess that I like with my mafia men. Dmitry is...Dmitry lol and I love the sometimes contentious relationship between Anatoly and Gabriel. Gabriel and Briggy, whoa. LOVED Dylan and the way Vasily is with him. I look forward to their 'talk'. Now to the ending, I'm feeling some type of way about it. The book was flawless right up until that and it kind of spoiled things for me because Lilly's actions defy logic. Try as I might, I can't understand why she would do what she does at the end. I get that she wants to protect her son but it just kind of came out of left field and it's actions like these that make me not really care if some heroines in mafia books catch a bullet. Yes, yes, I know they won't but maybe just a flesh wound to knock some sense into their silly selves? No? Alright, fine! LOL I'll just settle for going with 4.25 stars. As much as the ending annoyed me, I loved the rest of it too much to take it down to 4. Guess I'll wait to see how it all ends in Part 2. -
Editing was so-so, there were errors but much less than previous books - 4.25

DOUBLE TROUBLE - Erosa Knowles -
I have LOVED many of the books in the 3XCONStruction series. This author knows how to write her alpha males; Smoke and Frank come to mind, off the top of my head. In theory, this story should have been FIRE. It checked all my boxes. Interracial, check. Threesome, check. With twins, double check. BDSM - check, mate and where's my ice cream? I should have been a quivering mess by the time I was done. Instead, it just didn't come together for me. It did too much and too little at the same time. There were parts of the story that I loved. The boys' developing relationships with their dads were very well done. I loved Mama O'Connor. That is a matriarch! The family dinner where she lays it all on the table made me teary-eyed. I also loved the entire family feel of the book, and how tightknit the O'Connors are. But, the main characters didn't do it for me. There was nothing really alpha about the twins, and Belinda trying to tell them 'they seemed so authoritative now' as a segue so they could introduce her to the lifestyle was blatantly transparent. Belinda being with two brothers, individually, (as in not in a threesome originally) is whatever - I'm no stranger to taboo - but her having to factor that into a paternity conversation with her teenaged sons veered into the icky, especially when one of them kept insisting on details! LOL. The BDSM fell flat and felt forced. By the time Belinda started asking about spankings, I was too embarrassed for the characters to continue. DNF.

THE WRATH OF MICHAEL - Serenity King -
This story was entertaining in parts. Kendra was the typical 'sassy' black woman, and Michael (a self proclaimed bachelor who had no intention of ever getting married) was....dominant...even though some of his 'Come and kiss me' or 'Sit on my lap' felt a bit weird. I enjoyed Michael's cousin the most. I forget his name but he was married to Kendra's sister (Piero?). Now, HE was a true Alpha male. Him and Sal. The main problem that I had with this story was the pacing. Michael and Kendra meet at her sister's house. They then meet again, due to an incident at a bar, and Kendra stays at Michael's house for a few days. A FEW DAYS..this is key. They flirt with each other, with Michael making 'You know we want each other' statements, which normal people would just classify as flirting, not a prelude to a commitment. Then Kendra decides she wants Chinese food. Michael has to go pick it up. He demands a kiss (their first) and goes to get the food. The next thing I know he's all 'We're already in a relationship' and talking about how committed he is to her and that she should be the same to him. I almost got whiplash. I literally went back on my Kindle to see if I'd missed a few chapters. Nope. Few days. One kiss. No talk of relationship. Then, 'relationship'. I LOVE a Dominant man, but that was just ummkkk. I kept waiting for the punchline. Nothing. They were actually serious. All I could think for pages and pages afterwards was 'What the hell happened at the damn Chinese restaurant??!!' Maybe he drank that homemade ice tea that they make in a bucket with water from a garden hose. I don't know! Something happened! LOL Either way, I couldn't take them seriously after that. I just went along for entertainment purposes. They were cute in parts. Like I said, Michael's brother and cousins interested me more than he did. The sex scenes were mediocre, with Michael a supposed bachelor / playboy being 'astonished' (Where did you learn to do that??) at Kendra's basic moves. Pfft. I would read the story about the troublesome brother, but I'm not interested in any further developments with this couple - 2.5*

LAST CALL - Bridget Midway - TBA

SIEGED BY RYM - Yvette Hines
LOVED this story! Krysteena lives on a female dominated planet that kidnaps males for breeding and mating purposes and Rym is captured for her. Because he refuses to marry Krysteena, her mother - the queen, banishes them to Earth to live in cat form, but not as majestic beasts, as house cats...and Rym is a fat one LOL. Loved the characters, individually and as a couple. At the end of their banishment they are returned to their human form and goodness, Rym was such an alpha male. His natural form is as a huge cat (think panther and the like) and in both forms he is just OMG, ALPHA. An alpha male doesn't have to overdo. He just IS. Perfectly written. The humor at the beginning was awesome. I still smile at the thought of Rym running into the room when the Queen visited and skidding into the wall because of his weight. Krysteena's struggle with her conventional upbringing and her heart's (and body's) desire to submit to Rym is realistic and very well done. Is submitting to a man who is more alpha than you are, a sign of weakness? She had to go against everything she was raised to believe, to find out. Krysteena was clearly an alpha female but she had met her match, and then some, in Rym. When he whisperingly called her Krys, *I* melted. Loved everything about this story. I'm not a huge fan of SciFi, but this was a pleasant surprise. The editing was superb, the best of the set. 5 stars! Well deserved!
-------------------------
All of the authors are clearly very talented and I appreciate what they have done in this boxed set. For 99cents, it's still a huge bargain. Like I said, I have enjoyed many of the authors' other books, and will continue to do so. It's just that some of these particular stories were a miss for me.
Re editing in general, IR authors have to do better. They are tremendous talents, but their work is continually marred by poor editing. I should not have to add disclaimers about editing when I recommend IR books to friends. Worse, fans should not become so used to sub-standard editing that we accept it as the norm. Authors are constantly asking us to respect their work by buying legitimate copies of their books. They should, in turn, respect the fact that we are PAYING for their work, and deserve better. This set was 99cents, but the sequels to the stories contained within will not be.
Pace and Mynx have the only two stories worth bothering with. I expected as much and after spending an afternoon CRINGING through the dialog in The Wrath of Michael I am, once again, left to worry about the state of IR and what it says that so many fans of the genre love this set.
The overall set is good, with some doozies that I wondered how they were lumped together. I'm glad I got the set while it was available because it helped me find some authors that I wanted to explore more or rediscover.
What can I say that has not been said about this Scandalous Heroes Box Set? These nine authors are all amazing talented women who know how to weave a good story. If you are looking for Alpha Males and something to heat you up this is your set. And honestly who can beat the price? First I will say that some of the stories are novellas and end with you wanting more. But all in all these are 9 full stories. Because this anthology is over a 1,000 pages if I reviewed every authors book this would look more like a dissertation than a review. A few of my favorite stories were as follows: The Diva herself Sienna Mynx starts off the box set with a simmering taste of the Battaglia Clan. Renaldo the Battaglias enforcer gets his own story with Nigerian beauty Kyra. Fear of losing her job Kyra thinks she is playing Renaldo in order to get an interview with Catalina in hopes of saving her job little does she know that all is fair in love and war. Kyra is an up and coming shoe designer with her BFF Jamie. Let me tell you about Ms. Jaime everyone needs a BFF like that someone who is woman enough to beat your face and man enough to wear that tail out. Kyra forgetting about her main agenda in the throes of passion gives herself to Renaldo only there is one stipulation and the word is “Rallenti” which means slow down. Renaldo can’t help himself when he is alone with Kyra and believe me after you read the heat between these two you will need to slow down as well. Sienna combines this tell of lust, passion, and delicious Alpha maleness with a good amount of drama. I wanted more of Kyra and Renaldo and how the relationship would develop. This was a sort of insta-lust/love story I wish as a reader I got to see more development between the two characters. Don’t get me wrong the characters are well developed I just wanted more. This is a complete story with an epilogue and HEA. At 51% We are introduced back to another one of my favorite men and authors Vastily from the Medlov Clan. Latrivia Nelson has done her thing yet again when it comes to these men!!!!We finally get more insight into the quite, stealth enforcer Vasily and his Lilly. Although he may be quite he isn’t any less the alpha male. Years before he worked for the unstoppable Medlov Clan Vasily worked for a boss who was not so nice and very ruthless. Being the enforcer that he is Vasily decides to step up to his old boss to save his Lilly from abuse but he ends up paying a price. Years later ( and not to give away too much of the story) Vasily meets back up with Lilly in hopes of saving her again but this time she has a secret with grave consequences for them both. I love the fact that even though this family is mobbed up and ruthless there are ever so much family oriented the men may rule the streets but the women rule the home. I would love to see Gabriel have his own story just to see who he is getting loved on if not from Bridggy. I mentioned earlier these are novellas just as the height of the drama hits Ms. Nelson hits us with the stay tuned…… Which you totally will stay tuned because even though this was a short story Ms. Nelson writes such a cunning tale of love, lies and deception that you want to know what all Lilly is hiding and how will Vasilly and the family react. After all this is the mob and nothing is worse than dishonor. At 71% Serenity King another one of my favorite authors who can write a delicious Alpha male introduces us to Michael and Kendra. Although this author has been m.i.a. she is nothing to sleep on and if this book is any indication of what is yet to come than get ready to one click ladies. Although it says that this is book two in a series you don’t have to read book one to understand the flow of the story. Ms. King gives you enough detail and story that as a reader you will not feel lost although being it is a series check out the first book. I think this is one of the shortest stories in the anthology but that means nothing when it comes to sustenance. One of the things I love about this author is that she is straight to the point in the story she wants to tell no fillers just good story. Michael is ever so much the playboy until he meet feisty Kendra who he cant stand to be around his arrogance. Drawn together through danger and a whole lot of lust these two fall into each others arms and lets just say that the ride isn’t so easy. A short tale of love, lust and a hit of danger Serenity King weaves together a steamy romance. I cant wait to read what else this author has to offer.
Please ladies help support our Indie authors by leaving a review.
So far, this is a 4 star book. I will leave reviews as I finish each story.
Rallenti by Sienna Mynx: This was a great story. I'm actually looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I loved the mafia type story line and the interaction between the two. The crime aspect was enjoyable. This was a sweet, fun story and by the way, sexy! There is a lot of super sexy steamy sex. It's a well written novella and I'm dying to read more from this author. "Ti desidero. Io sono tua," he said. "I want you. I am yours. If you will have me." - Love this story.
Raw Exposure by Aliyah Burke: I really enjoyed this, but it didn't blow me away. Reeve was sort of not the alpha man I love to read about. He was sexy and rich, but that was about it. I loved Affrica. Her character was fantastic. Well written, strong willed, wonderful woman! The action was great, the plot interesting. I just wish Reeve had been a better man. "The swagger and the oozing sexuality made her mouth water, and her body respond to the raw magnetism which poured from him."
Everything is Everything by Pepper Pace: Um, this story to me, didn't feel as if it fit into the box set. The first two books were sexy. This one, they were kids! Come on, 12 and 14. The book wasn't sexy, wasn't something you would expect from a Sensual Romance box set. Certainly a disappointment.
Tattooed Moon by Tiana Laveen: I had to lower the rating of this whole box set and it bothers me. The first two stories had me begging for more. I really enjoyed them. But as I get further into the set, I'm getting bored. Tattooed Moon started awesome. I thought, here's a story about something I like, ink! But Julian bored me! He over expalins his "hippy vegitarian astrology" lifestyle. The characters spoke so maturely, but then out of nowhere you have an F word thrown in here and there. It wasn't sexy. The "mature" conversation continues into the bedroom. It was a turn off. I liked Milan. She was strong and it was fun watching her grow a back bone. But that was about it. There are stories that just don't seem to fit into the "Sensual Romance" that this book is supposed to portray.
Vasily’s Revenge by Latrivia Nelson: This box set has redeemed it's lost star! I loved this book and am drooling, waiting for the next one! This is an author I plan to now follow! The story was exciting, sexy and I'm loving it. I'm into the whole Mob type books. Vasily is sexy and alluring and I want him! Can someone find me one of him? Haha.
Double Trouble- Men of 3x CONStruction by Erosa Knowles: This story really bored me. It drug the set down. Sure, it seems like a great premise for a story, but the way it was executed was off. It was slow moving, I didn't connect with any of the characters. Speaking of characters, I felt there were too many that had main roles in the book. If it's about the twins and Belinda, then let it be about them. Don't drag the whole story down with the rest. It def made the set lose a star from me.
So, I read Rallenti, Everything is Everything, Tattooed Moon, Last Call, and Sieged by Rym. All great reads.
Rallenti- Renaldo, Mr Hot Enforcer and Kyra had great chemistry. I loved them together. It was nice seeing other characters from the book especially Domi. Gosh, I love that guy. Jamie was a hoot. The overall story was a great one. What can I say, it's Battaglia. Bring on AMORE!
Everything is Everything- This story begins with Scotty and Vanessa as children (teens) into young adults. Of all the books I've read, this storyline was different but I enjoyed it. Meeting years after Vanessa left to live with her grandmother, the love they had for each other was still there. But Scotty's boy Q, B, J, I can't remember right now lol may be stirring up trouble for him. I really hope nothing comes out of it. Can't wait for bk 2.
Tattooed Moon- this was a sweet, hot story. Julian is not the average muscled guy I always read about but he is handsome and lean. It was love at first sight for him seeing Milan. They connected instantly when she went to his shop to get a tattoo to honor her mom. These two were fiyah together.
Last Call- After fifteen yrs, Tank and Eminence came face to face with each other again. Because of a misunderstanding, they both led miserable lives by not finding that someone to love. Tank being a Dom didn't know how Eminence would react but she embraced it well. It was funny seeing how she reacted tho. It was also great to see these three friends, Tank, Eminence, and Jordyna rekindled their friendship. It would be nice to read Jordyna's story where she can get a HEA after her losses.
Sieged by Rym- This was my second shifter read. I really enjoyed it. Even though this was a scout for a mate and marry him story, Rym and Krysteena loved each other deeply. Krys tried to lay out the rules for Rym but in the end he had the last say. He stood before the queen asking her to "free" the males on the planet. That was a brave move but it was for a good. Nice short read.
Vasily's Revenge- Vasily, the hard man, the one who doesn't talk much and stands in the corner? Yeah, him. I loved his story and cant't wait for part 2 to find out what's going to happen. He really loves Lilly and I know he'll get his revenge. Hurry up November!
Even though the other books are standalones, I can't bring myself to reading them until I read the previous books from their series. I'll be lost. That's just me.
This incredible 9 story box set "Scandalous Heroes" was so awesome.
The authors and their stories:

If you like Sicilian Mob, Rich Playboys, Rawness, Cerebral attraction, Russian Mob, M/F/M, Alpha male, BDSM and Paranormal. Your palate will be well pleased. After every story read I wanted and needed more, I felt as if I was at a winery and having my fill of great wine. I swirled, I sniffed and I tasted and then the explosion of flavors crossed my taste buds. Wetting my appetite for more and I am well pleased to inform you that there will be a continuation for some of the stories. Part 2 for those stories will be released this Fall and Winter.
I honestly didn't know what to expect. At first I thought before I began to read the stories, I had already made up in my mind that I would only like a few and the rest would just be alright lol!!! And how very wrong was I, it wasn't just some of the stories I would like, I loved all of them. No story was the same and they were all exciting to read. There were 2 authors in the box set that I have never read before, well that will be quickly remedied because I was really excited after I finished their stories.
All I can say if I haven't said it, please get this wonderful 9 book box set. You will not be disappointed and I promise you that.
Scandalous Heroes is a collection of novellas and novels by some of the best Authors in the Multicultural/Interracial Genre and includes such names as Aliyah Burke, Bridget Midway, Yvette Hines, Pepper Pace and Serenity King just to name a few. This is truly one of the best books I have read in a long time. This set has everything, Shape shifters, Mafia Hit men, Billionaire, Blue collars Hunks and more! I am not really a fan of novellas and box set per se, but this one I love and for only $0.99 for you kindle, IPad or e-reader (for a limited time), you can’t beat this.
The writing just flow beautiful, each story was captivating in its own right and had great characters. Even the novellas did not feel rushed, that was a pet peeve of mine with novellas over the years. In reading this I discovered new Authors and some very interest stories in some of my favorite series books like The Battaglia Series By Sienna Mynx and The Medlov Crime Family By Latrivia Nelson. If you are a fan of these series you will love these little golden nuggets in the set.
This Box set, also has great Standalone stories like Tattooed Moon by Tiana Laveen & Double Trouble by Erosa Knowles were so good that you just can’t wait for more. I found myself wanting to re-read a lot of the other work by these talented writing Divas.
Where else can you find this much reading entertainment for one very low price. In this box set you get nine amazing stories from nine amazing authors. I enjoyed reading different stories from many different points of view, all uniquely penned in the way we've come to expect from these authors. I got a little of everything from Scandalous Heroes and enjoyed it very much. Latriva Nelson, Tiana Laveen, Erosa Knowles, Bridget Midway, Pepper Pace, Yvette Hines, Serenity King, Aliyah Burke, and Sienna Mynx, Kudos to you all!
Thank you ladies, this box set had it's ups and downs sides, marvelous stories, good stories as well as just so-so stories for me, overall I enjoyed the set . The grand slam for me was by Latrivia Nelson my first read by her will surely be looking for other works, Double Trouble the twins took it there. The Wrath of Michael jumped right into the who-done- it from book one. Last Call was tamed compared to other stories I've read from this author. Sieged by Rym held my attention to the point where I wanted to see what happen. I recommend this box set it encompasses it all.
What an awesome box set of stories written by some amazing authors. I must say Aliyah Burke is indeed one of my favorite authors and it was so nice to revisit the families and Sexy Navy SEALS of the Megalodon Team through Affrica and Reeve's story Raw Exposure. I have long awaited for their story. It was worth the wait and did not disappoint.
Scandalous Heroes box set contains works from nine of the industry’s best authors of romance that includes characters of color: Sienna Mynx, Yvette Hines, Aliyah Burke, Latrivia Nelson, Erosa Knowles, Tiana Laveen, Pepper Pace, Bridget Midway and Serenity King. With what is included, this book is worth well beyond what it cost.
The book included some pieces that are parts of larger series. It is difficult to read parts of series included in anthologies, when they are not the first installment. For instance, Vasliy’s Revenge, by Latrivia Nelson, is the second installment of the Medlov Crime Family Series. I had not read any of this author’s work prior to this and did read part one of the series before reading this installment. While this work is similar to the work of Ms. Mynx’s “mafia family” style series, I am not as inclined to continue to read this series based upon this installment. If a series is included in an anthology I would prefer if it is the first installment of a series so that it gives me a chance to get a feel for the series that I might want to continue reading.
Even with that said I was especially satisfied with the following:
Rallenti, by Sienna Mynx is an installment in her Battaglia Mafia Series. It was great to visit the old family, but here in the United States, instead of in Italy. Getting a look at the family from the perspective of one of the enforcers, as opposed to one of the other relatives was wonderful. What I truly enjoyed was how the story left you with the feeling of the compassion and faith the family has in its most trusted employees.
Double Trouble, by Erosa Knowles, is a part of her Men of 3X CONstruction series. I have waited for a LONG time for another installment to this series. The lives of the original characters were all so intriguing that as a reader I often wondered what became of them. For Ms. Knowles to give a glimpse of their lives, while telling us a story about the twins, brothers to one of the original characters, was worth the price of the wait. I hope there will be more.
Raw Exposure, by Aliyah Burke, is part of her Megalodon Team series. Even though the characters were not actually a part of the team, the team is prominently included in the story. The interesting part of this story is the main female lead’s Irish history and how unusual it is to have Black Irish characters. When she is in trouble and her brothers’ team has to rescue her, I just felt another story coming.
Not part of a continuing series, but very enjoyable was Tattooed Moon, by Tiana Laveen. This was my first exposure to this author and I truly enjoyed this work. This story made me cry and smile. The descriptions of the issues surrounding the lives of both characters pulled at my heart strings. I am definitely going to read more of this author’s work.
There was one story I did not enjoy, mainly because it is the beginning of a series and not my style of work. I will most likely NOT read the continuation of that series. Out of nine stories, having at least one I did not enjoy was expected.
This was my favorite book in this boxed set. I realized this was the second book to this series, so I definitely need to backtrack and read book one because I absolutely loved the characters, especially the male characters in Michael's family. They are no-nonsense alpha Italians who loved their women to death. Michael's confidence was what made me instantly like his character. He was cocky, yet his overconfidence was humorous. Kendra was feisty, intelligent and wasn't afraid to voice her opinion to Michael. Their banter was hilarious, especially the scene in the lingerie shop. Both of their sense of humor complemented each other. The mystery and family dynamics brought the story to life. I especially liked how Michael pampered Kendra, even when she didn't want him to, because that's the way his woman would always be treated. This novella was well done and the author's voice captured my attention from the very start.
Last Call 3 1/2 stars
Emminence leads a dull, safe life with her boring boyfriend who treats her like a child, which immediately made me feel sorry for her. It felt like she was just settling at her young age just for security. She barely tolerated her boyfriend and he didn't seem to like her at all. There was only one man in her life that she ever loved that made her "feel" anything, her high school sweetheart, Tank. An unexpected meeting brings Emminence and Tank back together, but past misunderstandings and ruined relationships prevent them from even holding a civilized conversation. Emminence's past behavior cost her her best friend and the love of her life and even the love of her family. She did a lot of growing in this book. It was a story of learning to trust yourself and others and stepping outside of the box. Tank made her want to be a better person and she learned how to take responsibility for her actions and to fight for what she wants instead of always running. There was a little too much introspection on Emminence's part and I found myself skimming when she was going through her thought processes and I would have liked to see more of a softer side to Tank but overall this was a good novella.

This was a different book than I'm used to reading. It wasn't your typical paranormal romance. It had more of a sci-fi feel to it. I didn't start to get into it until about half way through. Up until that point, the hero and heroine were kind of boring. Once they became mates, things picked up and I enjoyed it a lot more.
I reviewed “Everything is Everything” by Pepper Pace from the “Scandalous Heroes Box Set.”
** Four Stars **
I’m not usually one for stories set in the recent past. This novel takes place in the 1970s-1980s in the poor section of time, or the “ghetto” as noted by the book. The first part takes place in Vanessa’s early teens, living on the upper side with her mother who works two jobs. She has her school, homework, best friend who’s her cousin, and a gang of girls to hang/protect her. She meets and crushes on the only white fella, Scotty, whose hard core older half brother runs the drug trade. It follows their ups and downs in the crazy hard, but sometimes sweet life in their neighborhood. Second part covers the later teens to early adulthood of Vanessa turning 18. Living with another relative due to a past tragedy, her life has been completely separate from those she grew with. Attending an arts school, having an amazing voice and an amazing future don’t stop Vanessa and Scotty’s love from happening all over again. Seriously sad, true, and no holds on the reality, I surprising could not put this book down. It’s a definite portrayal of what it must of have been to live in the neighborhood, trying to get out from a cycle of poverty, and loving someone who is outside the norm. Vanessa’s innocent and gentle spirit shine through the book as a backdrop to Scotty’s desperate survival for goodness. Reader, if you like reality and don’t mind learning how “everything is everything” for real, pick up this novel!
This is one juicy, steamy, delectable feast of a book! My personal favorites are: Rellenti, Vasily's Return, Tattooed Moon, Double Trouble and Everything is Everything.
After completing this box set (and being throughly involved with Sienna Mynx's Rellenti), I jumped into the latest Battaglia book, "La Famiglia". I hadn't paid that much attention to Renaldo in the previous books, but now I'm fully engaged with this man and can't wait to see what's cooking with him and Kyra.
Vasily's Return...what can I say? Once again Latrivia Nelson laid it out and once again we get he low-down on another fine ass Russian. I was somewhat disappointed with Lily's stupid move at the end, but Latrivia knows what she's doing...she's got me salivating for the continuation.
Everything is Everything had me laughing and crying sometimes at the same time. I'm really rooting for Scotty and Vanessa but with the morsel, Pepper Pace gave us on Book Two, I can see they're in for some rough tmes. I really love how Pepper took us through their childhoods and the many trials and tribulations they experienced. I can't wait to catch up with them again!
All in all this was a magnificent treat. All of these writers are extremely gifted and I'm a loyal fan for life!

DISCLAIMER: I only purchased this box set for Raw Exposure by Aliyah Burke. This was a spin off from her Megalodon Team series. I think I sent a few emails to the author about this story.
That said, ,I think it was great that these authors collaborated in getting this box set together. I allowed me to read some good stories from some of my favorite authors (Aliyah Burke, Pepper Pace, Sienna Minx, Yvette Hines and Bridget Midway) and get exposed to new authors. I think this book has something for everyone.
If you are looking for new authors, this is a good way for you to get exposed to some kick-ass writers who not only promote their work but encourage their fan base to read other writers.
Well done ladies!!!! Who said women can't work together ?!?!
Rallenti- This was a pretty fast read and super sexy.
I really enjoyed how independent Kyra was even as much as going against her families wishes and having them not speak to her.
Renaldo was very much an alpha male. I like that he had layers and you found out little snippets about him. He was just so dark and mysterious. I liked that there was definitely more to him.
Raw Exposure- I loved this one. Full of action and suspense with super hot alpha males!
Affrica is another really strong female character. She's very fierce and I love her sense of humor.
I really liked Reeve too. He was a playboy and fell for Affrica then realized that he didn't like who he was and changed for the better.
I really loved all the brothers and the Seals. I would love to read all of their stories.
Some of those stories I am so looking forward to read in the future, pepper pace story have me hungry for more and I am sad that I have to wait awhile for the rest, it felt so real took me back to my hometown in Jersey, those alpha male in this collection my my my I couldn't get enough of Vasily, Renaldo, Julian. I said this before and will say it again I can't stand Marietta, Catalina growing on me and I love Kyra character very sweet and humble. Can't wait for on my favorite characters, it was a good read especially for the price can't go wrong bravo to all the authors for their contribution.
Once again Sienna has captured me with her writing. I loved Kyra and Renaldo! Especially Kyra seeing as I, myself, am a Nigerian American who struggles to go after my own dreams rather than my parents! I wish Rallenti was longer so I could fall in love with Renaldo even more. I don't think I can wait till Winter to read the next edition of the Battaglia series! But for now I'm going to finish this box set!
I loved, loved Rallenti by Sienna Mynx she is awesome. Vasily's revenge was great, I just hope there is more to the story. I felt like the story was not finished. Everything is everything great! I could not get enough of Michael's Wrath. I also feel like that story is not finished either. I love all the stories in this box set. I didn't name all of them but they are all great. This box set is a must have.
Seiged by Rym finished. I liked it, but I could have liked it more. It would have been nice if we could have seen them interacting in that year they were together as cats on Earth. That would have been a prime opportunity for them to grow closer and talk about all of the details of the mating...or, hell, just get to know each other better and maybe become friends.
