(Inside the Meddling Mind of Grannie – A Prequel to the Wish Come True Series)
Grannie has always taken exceptional care of herself. She never smokes, eats healthy, gets plenty of rest, exercises and drinks eight glasses of water a day. So when her doctor announces she has stage IV colon cancer and six months to live, she can’t believe her ears. Seventy is too young to die. There are too many things she still wants to experience. Hell—she hasn’t even prepared her bucket list yet!
And she is determined not to die before watching her granddaughter walk down the aisle. Grannie even has the perfect groom picked out. Only her granddaughter and the lucky guy don’t know it yet. But they will...soon. And while she’s at it, Grannie might just shoot cupid’s arrow at her grandson, Jared. Not to mention their cousin, Tyler...because who knew match making could be so much fun?
I was born and raised by deaf parents in the Metro-Detroit area along with four siblings. Growing up in a house full of children, there was never a dull moment! We all inherited the reading gene from our father, who is a voracious reader. And the reading gene continues strong in my own two sons. I'm happily married (second time is a charm) to a patient and loving man who always cheers me on from the side-line to pursue my dreams. What more can a girl want?
I love meddling grannies... :) This is a short 70 page prequel to the Wish Come True series. I've read the first book Date Night and I enjoyed it so I was curious to see what Grannie was up to in this novella. I love how the family rallied around her in her wish to see her granddaughter walk down the aisle even if it was a crazy and outrageous plan. But Grannies always seem to know what's best don't they? The author has included a sneak preview of each of the three books in the series in this prequel: Date Night, Fair Game and Begin Again. So, a good opportunity to get a little teaser of what this author has in store for you and check out her writing style. Fun series... I need to head into Fair Game and Begin Again soon so I can see how all of Grannie's meddling turns out! :)
I loved this short story. The meddling Grannie is hilarious but is with a heart of gold. How all her family rally around her in time of her need is great to see. The story runs fluidly and is highly emotional.
This prequel is worth the time to get to understand the reasoning behind this one woman's desire to see those she love happily married. Quickie read. Well worth the time.
