WordPress from Setup to Website

Rate this book
This book is a visual guide to setting up WordPress. Beginners will appreciate the screen views that show how to create your own WordPress site. WordPress is the number one Web Content Management System on the Internet running at least 16% of all websites on the Internet. So many books are either too technical or not technical enough. They either fail to go into great detail or they go into so much detail about topics that do not concern more WordPress users. This book covers versions 3.3 through 3.5 of WordPress and go from registering a domain name, downloading and installing WordPress, customizing and using your WordPress site, and the care and feeding of your website. This book assumes little to no WordPress experience but if you haven't used WordPress in a while, you will find it very helpful.

The book also goes in depth on using Plugins and Widgets and integrating WordPress with Facebook and other social networks.

Computer Geek by Day, fiction writer by night. My personal goal is to take things that are hard to understand about computers or Life and make them easier to understand for everyone.

I have worked with computers since I was 12. I could spout off all the old computer brands I have worked with that no longer exist, but that would just date me. I have looked in the mirror and I would not want to date me.

I have worked professionally with computers over 17 years and I have been teaching Computer Technology classes for over 6 years. I have worked with multiple OSes, Databases, Hardware platforms, and applications. I have been a web developer, a database administrator, and a system administrator.

In my teaching career I have taught everything from web development, to programming, databases, A+, and Network+. The most amazing part of teaching is seeing the light bulb go off above the heads of my students. That is a special effect it takes time to achieve. I have played with used versions of WordPress for years. It is one of my favorite content management systems and once it is setup, it is very easy to use.

I am married to a wonderful wife who also works in IT (two Geeks in Love) and four great kids who do not work in IT and probably wouldn't want to.

In writing books, I want to create affordable books and textbooks that are useful to students and computer users to help them create something meaningful to them. I hope my books help you achieve this.

I hope you enjoy them as "WordPress from Setup to Website" is just the first of many. And No, I am not a Dentist.

Sincerely,

Roy W. Richardson

I have read more Wordpress books then I can count...this by far is one of the best. The screenshots could have been a little larger for the visually impair but all in all this book is great.
