ARC from Netgalley
This is a book of 7 short erotic stories, 6 about a woman and then a man of a certain type, and executive, a dom, a priest, a cop, a professor, a billionaire and lastly a man and a maid. These are the types of male lead you find in erotic romance and contemporary romances, a powerful alpha man who knows what he wants, with the exception of the priest. I find an erotic romance with a priest icky.
I'm afraid the types of women in these stories are not those I can empathise with or feel for when I read. I like the believe in the women and be proud of them, get excited by their journey but these women did not get me interested. They are not weak, in fact to do some of the things they do they'd have to be courageous or really stupid. In the first book the girl follows an anonymous colleague's message to meet him in the men's bathroom, she goes and hears a man in a cubicle talking to her while he masterbates, kudos to her for taking a leap but the risk of her actions was not exciting. I also found it rather sleazy. In another story where the girl meets a dom she found on Craigslist, I was dumbfounded and then after being rescued, she jumps straight into propositioning the man who rescued her who claimed to be a dom.
From other reviews, I can see my opinions are not shared, but these stories just aren't for me.
Only 1 star as I did not finish (DNF) and stopped at 43%.

September 5, 2016This is a good collection. They're not short stories, but they're not full novels either. Somewhere in between. A solid length, enough to give you a sense of the characters as people instead of cardboard. Some of these are better than others, but I'd say they're all good.

This was a collection of different short stories and some were better than others. All had hot sexytimes so that was good.

Oh MY!! Selena Kitt's "Power Play: The Complete Collection" left me in a puddle on the floor! I really, really, REALLY enjoyed it. I've only read two other works by Ms. Kitt, and while they were good, I wouldn't have classified them as GREAT! Well...I'm not even sure if "great" is the proper word to describe this anthology. I had read "Donnie and the Maid", but I didn't realize that it was part of a series. When I discovered that it was, I eagerly snatched this up so that I could read the others. WHEW!! Talk about singed fingers from the heat eminating from my Kindle! The premise of the stories is a woman falling for men in some sort of power over her, and it's all so sexy!
Before I go into the name and idea of each story, I must confess to finding men in powerful positions to be extremely hot. It's the way they carry themselves, the way they speak, they way that they can capture a room with just a look. Every single one of these stories has a man who does all that and more.
Kelsey and the Executive: Due to not doing the laundry that week, Kelsey has run out of "acceptabe" office attire. Needless to say, what she wears to work creates a bit of a fuss. Soon, she begins getting naughty emails from a secret admirer, and the steamy fun begins.
Katie and the Dom: Katie has been doing some reading, and she realizes that she's a submissive. She meets her dream Dom during an unfortunate situation, but things start to turn around. Can she find her happily ever after with an extremely alpha Dom?
Emily and the Priest: This was my favorite story in the whole bunch. I think it was because of the ultra taboo subject matter. Melissa and Father Mark share a common love of art, and they feel a closeness that may not be appropriate, but can they fight it? Nope :-) SO sexy!
Ivy and the Cop: Ivy's stuck. Her car has died, and so has her cell phone. It's 2:00 am, and while she's hoofing it, she sees a car headed toward her...a police car, and who's driving? Her high school sweetheart. First, there are fun and games, and then there's some trouble. Rescue has never been this delicious.
Bailey and the Professor: This one's my second favorite of the bunch. Every girl gets a crush on a teacher once in their lives. Right? Chemistry is getting in the way of Bailey's dream career. Professor Jacobs has tried everything to help her, but she just can't seem to get it. After something amazing happens, the Professor has a brilliant idea. Talk about chemistry! WHOO!
Jodie and the Billionaire: I am helpless against a good billionaire story. Especially if he's handsome and sweet, along with a hint of danger. What better location than Las Vegas to meet the man of your dreams?
Donnie and the Maid: Donnie and his wife are divorced but share custody of their daughter. When the ex learns that Donnie is a less than satisfactory housekeeper, he hires a maid...who happens to have gone to his high school. She has certain needs, and Donnie is more than willing to meet them.
I highly recommend this anthology. It's perfect for a nice, relaxing evening at home, and an extremely HOT night in the bedroom. Trust me on this one!

This was such a great read, I wish it was longer...I really didn't want it to end. I loved Don and Elena together, his ex-wife is a total Biotch and her ex-husband will never receive a husband of the year award.
Donnie's house hasn't been cleaned since he and his wife divorced over a year ago so to say that he has an ant and mouse problem wouldn't be a total shocker now would it. After Diana makes a comment to her dad about it all he decides to ask a friend to recommend someone to help him with the household chores. He is thrilled to find out that an old high school friend has just started a cleaning business so he calls and hires her. Needless to say they both get more out of this arrangement.
After their first time together Elena opens up to him about her being a submissive and it opens a new world to Don after he does his research on BDSM. Don takes to his new roll as her Dom like bees to honey, he is such a natural it makes you wonder why he hadn't tried this before.

This was a great book. It had some great story lines. Was interesting, fast paced. I loved each story. They all had great taste, were hot, sweet, and had wonderful endings. Perfect little stories. Thanks for a great read. They definitely kept me entertained!

Jodie and the Billionaire this was a great story about Jodie and her friends, they go to Las Vegas and she plays on the craps table. She is very lucky in Dice, so lucky she snatches the 2nd most elgible bachelor Darian Cole! I loved this story was interesting fun and quite hot,

Wow! I have loved other Selena Kitt stories but I really enjoyed this box set! We get seven stories about an executive, dom, priest, cop, professor, billionaire, and a maid. All the main characters are female with the exception of the maid-that is a male. I listened by audiobook and I loved that aspect! The narrator was spot on with capturing the person's feelings. I had no problems distinguishing characters and would highly recommend this option. I liked all the books in the box, but my favorites were the dom and the priest! Selena has a real knack for writing sexy scenes and they sure get the motor running! If you haven't read any of Selena's books,this is a great introduction to her writing style. She does write a lot of taboo fiction, and this has some included. If that's not your cup of tea then realize you may not like all the books in this box set. Overall, it's well worth your time. So if your game, give Power Play a whirl!

This was the complete series written by selena kitt. I haven't had the privilege of reading anything by this author before. And I wasnt let down by it at all. The stories are all hot and demanding . And there isnt anything wrong with a complete alpha in control of the situation .What I loved about this is there wasnt any cliff hanger endings that each story was complete and whole with no loose ends . These arent really the stories you pick up to read in public more a private read unless you want to show how flustered you are. The characters are very well written and the story lines are fantastic. These are well worth the read.

Although I'd read a couple of the stories in this set already, I was interested to discover how they'd be in audio form. Quite honestly, this is the first erotic audio I've listened to. I wasn't sure how they'd translate to narration, but I needn't have worried. The narrators chosen for this were perfect, with low and sultry voices perfect for the subject matter. The stories themselves were up to the usual Selena Kitt standards - hot, hot, hot...and plots to boot! I love this author's way with an erotic tale.

I am not normally a fan of short stories but these are bit sized pieces of naughtiness all wrapped up in velvet just waiting to be devoured and I did just that. These were hot and heavy and all of them where off the charts hot. Selena Kitt is a skilled writer that draws you in and gets you hooked from the very first paragraph and holds you captive to the very last word. I am gonna be honest and say I will be happy to be her hostage any time again in the future!

These stories were just too short to fully enjoy. I keep thinking what could have been if they were longer. Each one started in an off manner and ended suddenly. I was confused to say the least.
The sex scenes in most of the books were wonderfully written but it felt as though I was reading (watching) and X-rated movie instead of a novel with sex in it.

Short, well written stories
I've read some of these types of short stories before that left a lot to be desired as far as writing quality, but this boxed set is a group of short, sexy stories that are surprisingly well written. Though short and sweet, the author manages a decent amount of character and plot development in each one. My only compliant is that many of them left me wanting more.

Selena Kitt is really good at writing fluff. Books that don't take a lot of energy to read and are generally light and easy to follow. Power Play is a collection of stories dealing with some taboo topics (like men of the cloth and sex). It wasn't my favorite set of stories but it had smut, hot guys and was free so what's to complain about?
