“Release” by Chuck Grossart is a story about a haunted book, essentially. It is much more than just that, however. While perusing his options in a vintage book store, our unnamed protagonist finds himself engrossed in a bizarre bit of prose. Unable to help himself, he succumbs to an urgent need to steal the book. What was in that book that so totally captivated the man? Did the store clerk see him hide the book in his backpack? Could he successfully walk out the front door without looking guilty?

“Release" is short and sweet. Only a few short pages, but that’s enough to cue you in to what’s about to happen AFTER the story ends. Folks who enjoy short paranormal/supernatural stories will find this to be a well written and clever tale. “Release” will release your imagination to speculate about the after-story.

Release, A Flash Fiction Story by Chuck Grossart I received a free kindle copy of Release, A Flash Fiction Story by Chuck Grossart in an Amazon promotion.I gave this very short story four stars. The unnamed protagonist found a book that made a difference in how he thought & felt. He was compelled to steal it & was about the way a book can change a person's life.
 
I found the author's note at the end of this story fascinating.

Great short introduction. Have to check out the continuation of where this story led. This was interesting but of course too short.
