She was like a drug, the very best kind. She'd turned him world upside down, but for the first time in forever, things were starting to feel righ.

She couldn't play with him without getting burned. She couldn't indulge with him without risking a broken heart.

I've been anticipating Rowdy and Avery's story since first meeting them in Worth The Riske. Nothing better than a womanizing bad boy...well maybe if you added a motorcycle and some tattoos to the mix. But I can deal with 2 out of 4 :)

Rowdy Yates is man that is constantly battling the demons from his past. His childhood was a nightmare, and his priority has always been to take care of his sister. He is not above lying, stealing, or breaking the law to get what he wants, and it's certainly landed him in plenty of hot water in the past. The only thing that takes his mind off his troubled thoughts are women. He doesn't really have a type, but all they are are nameless faces in a never ending list. But ever since he met Avery, something about him just calls to him.
He'd fucked his way through a miserable upbringing, using sex to counter the ravages of poverty and abuse. He used it still to rid his mind of plaguing memories. But now, with Avery, the need that consumed him had nothing to do with any of that- and everything to do with her.

Avery is attracted to Rowdy, who in their right mind wouldn't be. The man is pure sex on a stick. But she knows better than to give into his shameless flirting. She has no interest in being another notch on his bedpost, no matter how tempting he may be.

Being sexy as sin, charismatic, and a shameless flirt never leaves Rowdy without a willing woman. But no matter which woman is currently warming his bed, it's Avery's face that seems to come to mind each time.

This was probably my favorite book in the series. I loved that Avery, while having a few hangups, was still a very endearing heroine. She wasn't unwittingly getting herself in dangerous situations and knew to ask for help when she needed it. She wasn't excessively naive and virginal. She knew what she wanted, but she also had the backbone to go after it.

Rowdy, my darling manwhore Rowdy. I have to admit, when Avery walked in on a certain "situation" in the beginning of the book, I wanted to throttle him. But the more I learned about his past, the more I fell in love with him. He was just so imperfectly lovable.

I liked that Avery saw him for the man that he was, and accepted all of him, faults and all.

I also liked that she didn't run from her feelings for him.

The story itself was fairly interesting as well. Thankfully, in the 3rd installment of the Love Undercover series, we finally take a step away from the Human Trafficking plot line. The mystery of the who's after Avery only heightened the interest. I was fairly sure I had things figured out from the beginning on who the bad guy is, and the ending completely flabbergasted me.

Lori Foster didn't disappoint with the steam in this one. There was enough sexual tension to drive me crazy for the first half, and when Rowdy and Avery finally got together...

I can't say that I LOVED this book, but it was still an enjoyable read. There were hints to who the next book will be, and I'm pretty sure I will be skipping it. While Dash is all kinds of sexy, I just can't get myself to like Lieutenant Peterson. I'm not big on ball-busting, super prim and proper heroines. But who knows, maybe I'll cave in and read it.

The ending...well...it was a bit on the cheesy end.

On a different note, I am absolutely DYING to get a book for Cannon. He was one of my favorite parts of this book. Please please please give us a book for him. Did I happen to mention that he's a fighter? I would squeal like a teenage girl spotting Justin Bieber if Lori Foster gives us another series like her SBC Fighters with Cannon. Seriously, I'm not even embarrassed to admit that.

Getting Rowdy, while being part of a series, can be easily read as a stand alone.

3.75 stars

Another one I forgot I read a long while ago, and looked at again, then remembered I already skimmed this ridiculous story.

Definitely a BIG FAT NO.

Aside from the fact that I was bored with the story overall, I really disliked both Rowdy and Avery.

Rowdy because he's a fucking dickhead who fucked around nightly with other women in front of Avery forever, while also pursuing her at the same time (way to make a girl feel special loser).

Avery because she's a doormat weak bimbo who's witness to ALL his manwhoring upfront and personal, even catches him getting a blow job, and she still finds him attractive (even more so after witnessing the BJ, really you idiot?) WTF? Stupid loser woman. As a woman I'm highly offended by the way these ridiculous women are written, totally pushovers who let the douche get away with everything.

Another 5 Star Lori Foster read!!

Rowdy was everything I hoped he'd be and more...Lori Foster absolutely knows how to create a Alpha who is tough, sweet, possessive, loyal, and very protective.

Rowdy's definitely all of the above, he's demonstrated just how loyal and protective he is with his sister Pepper (Run the Risk) and again with Alice (Bare it All). Rowdy is just as fiercely protective with Avery his bartender & manager of his bar "Getting Rowdy". When Avery's past starts intruding and threatening her she reluctantly turns to Rowdy...not by choice but because he basically can't help himself from protecting any women especially one he's close too and...more importantly one he's wanted for a very long time.

It was great to see the progression of Logan & Pepper and Reece & Alice's lives together. I've been looking forward to Rowdy's book since meeting him in "Run the Risk" and was not disappointed!!! Reece & Alice (Bare it All) are still my favorites but this is a very close second!!

Let me start off by saying that Lori Foster is my favorite contemporary author. Her books always leave me warm and fuzzy inside. No let me correct that….USUALLY leave me warm and fuzzy inside. This book…..Not one of them.

Lori, as your #1 fan, I find it my duty to ask you “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?” Were you reading these YA books that happen to be (for some reason) so popular right now and decided that you were going to go that route? I was so turned off with both Rowdy and Avery. Me as a strong minded woman, do not find it even remotely attractive to find a guy getting a BJ by some random woman while he is actively pursuing me or to be treated the way he treats her. She tells him he has to earn it but does he really earn it? It just looks to me that he’s brushing off ladies because she’s around. Rowdy has no respect for Avery. With the way he treats her, she still follows him like a love sick puppy. I found it disturbing the stuff she would put up with. I found Avery to seem desperate, dumb and weak minded.

Now the plot…..This is the worst plot I’ve ever seen from any of your books. I’m not even going to go into it without spoiling the story for others. But it was all over the place. And so UNREALISTIC. I felt like I was watching one of those comedies that make fun of other movies with outlandish ridiculous exaggeration. I was actually laughing at the drama because it was so unheard of.

This book was just not there for me. Reese’s story is by far my favorite in this series. That being said, you are still my #1 favorite author so I will not hold it against you and will be not so patiently waiting for your next book. Hopefully about Cannon.

3.75 Estrellas!

Proper review to follow BUT IN THE MEANTIME...

GODDAMN!!!! This book was BEYOND HOT!!! Truth be told, I wanted to slap Rowdy so hard at the start of the book when Avery "discovered him", but that incident not-withstanding, the man was SEX-ON-A-STICK personified!!!!

All I can say is that I REALLY HOPE that Cannon gets a story... that man is DEE-LICIOUS :)

I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review.

I said in my review of Bare It All, I was soooo looking forward to reading bout Avery and Rowdy.
It could be that I was too anxious and expecting way too much...
I'll not say that this book is disappointing or bad because it is not! But I felt a bit let down. Let me explain...

Rowdy is Pepper's (she the heroine of the first book) brother. He's crazy protective with his sister and he's done some shady things during their life together in order to keep her safe. So I was expecting much more from him.

OK, he's blunt and coled-up, he's sexually uninhibited, he's thorny, and he wants Avery, who's now bartender in his bar, and he doesn't make it a secret.

Avery has things to hide. She's happy with her work and her defenses are crumbling very quickly and she cannot fight her desire for Rowdy. But she doesn't want for him to discover her secret.

So they succumb to their mutual desire. And that scene are hot!!! *fanning myslef*

There were several problems for me was...

Avery's secret, when it comes out, is... nothing special. I was expecting some secret in line with those of the first two books, but it was just: meh...

Also, I didn't get her fear that Rowdy will get hurt !!! Have you looked at Rowdy, honey??? She should have known from past experience what Rowdy was capable of! It was just not credible and it irked me because in the previous books there was no such things!

I was expecting Avery to be more... More wily, more secure of herself, as she was desribed in the previous book and also more confident about Rowdy. Instead, much time was spent on her fearing what will happend to Rowdy if she confesses, without considering that it would have been much better and much more interesting if she just said what was bothering her.

Rowdy reacted in a very unusually "tame" way to a threat to Avery. What a disappointment!

The whole story was anticlimatic. There was just not enough suspense and the reason for the threat was lame too and very simplicistic.

While reading I had the feeling that this is an in-between book - like the author has to write it just to give us, readers, Rowdy's story, but was uninspired about what that story should be, so she just took the first thing that came on her mind...

I couldn't rate it less than 4 stars thou. I enjoyed very much that all the previous MCs were present here! I love all of them! Especially Cash, even if he didn't pee on anyone here! LOL

I love the MC of all these books and I'm looking forward to reading Dash's story - given the premises we have here, he'll get involved with Margaret, Logan's and Reese's lieutenant, while chasing some DS video producers. This seems much exiting and adventuresome story !

I'm also curious to know if Conner will get his book too! He sound so yummy! LOL

It's OFFICIAL....I have a NEW Love....ROWDY YATES! He just...yeah...he did it...he did it all!!!

Full Review

Um....I don't even know what to say other than "OH ROWDY"...hee hee...He is JUST SO DAMN SEXY!! I don't think I will ever forget him and he is holding a top spot on my Top Hero List for life. You just have to read this book to figure it out, but I am SOOOOO in love with Rowdy!!

If you have read the series from the beginning, you will understand my feelings for Rowdy Yates, Big Brother, Protector, and all around Bad Ass of Sexiness. He can be mean if he has to be, he will tell you like it is, which he does with Avery, but he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and that means more to me than anything. Plus, a shirtless Rowdy isn't exactly a BAD thing.

Rowdy and Avery meet in book one, RUN THE RISK, and into book two, BARE IT ALL, we get a few encounters, where they sniff around each other, him wanting her and not lying about it, her wanting him, and holding him at arms length. Then we get to GETTING ROWDY, where he is now the owner of the bar she was working in, and she is promoted to Bartender, but they are still playing the cat and mouse games, even though I don't know how she held off for so long.

One of my favorite scenes is when she walks in on him and...ahem...another woman...I was ready to throw down, but poor Avery had been pushing him away and really had no claim, but I was still ready to claw some hair, or slap Rowdy...but I understand where he was coming from and I love him so much, so I forgave him.

Lets just say that little encounter knocks Avery on her ass, and let's just say there are some OTHER issues with Phantom Phone Calls, and Creeps stalking Avery, which kicks Rowdy into protective gear, and the two can't help but fall into bed...hee hee...THANK GOD!!

Aside from my Love of Rowdy, the Book was excellent, the plot-line was right on, and kept me guessing as to WHAT THE HECK just happened, and the Chemistry between Avery and Rowdy...Well..IT WAS OFF THE CHARTS!!

Great Read, Sexy, Funny and Rowdy is so friggin charming, you won't be able to resist! Pre-Order TODAY!!

I had the good fortune to win an ARC of this book and couldn't wait to get started reading it. I can honestly say I love this book! The entire series is good but it seems like I have been waiting for Rowdy's book with baited breath.

I wasn't disappointed in the least. Rowdy is that bad boy we all want to tame. Bad enough to do what it takes to protect those he loves, but with enough morals to want to do things the right way and to love those he cares for with all his heart. The fact that he is also a hunk doesn't hurt a bit in helping the reader fall in love with his character.

Rowdy's love interest is Avery Mullins. She works at the bar Rowdy buys and she has plenty of secrets of her own. Beautiful, redheaded and seemingly uninterested in the sexy Rowdy, Avery definitely gives Rowdy a run for his money and the chase is delightful!

There is more than meets the eye to both Rowdy and Avery and the journey to their happy ever after is more than worth the wait for this yummy book. Way to go Lori Foster, your character driven stories will bring me back ever time!

My favourite thing about this book? Rowdy. What a character, I absolutely loved this alpha man. Responsible for everyone, but such a lonely island.
This is my first book in this series, but I am so excited by this one that I will be going back to read the rest of the Love Undercover series.
Lori Foster well done on writing such an amazing guy. Lets face it, when you read a romance you want to fall in love with the character...for him to be your type. Well you nailed it with this one dearie, I couldn't have loved Rowdy more.
The bad guy, phew! I did not see that coming, so great suspense as well.
I really did enjoy this book I would recommend it to all romance readers who like there guys protective, damaged and sexy as hell!

Originally posted at The Book Nympho

This book couldn't be more aptly named as it's all about getting rowdy (as in acting up) and getting Rowdy, the main character.

In the two earlier books in this series, Rowdy emerged as this murky person, not really certain on what side of the law he was actually operating. Now that his beloved sister, Pepper, is married to a police detective, getting this aspect of Rowdy became more important.

Enter Avery Mullins, the former waitress who saved his butt at the shady bar where she worked before Rowdy bought it. He promoted her to head bartender and now wants her...really bad. He's a notorious one night stand kind of guy and she's wanting none of that, even though she's kind of crazy about him. When her past reaches forward into the present and puts her at risk, it's a game changer in their relationship.

Rowdy isn't a character you're going to fall for from the start. Though he's not a traditional "player" as he's a woman magnet who doesn't turn many away and he's typically not the aggressor. But he sleeps with a LOT of women and is very clear there's zero chance of relationship or second encounters. No way was he going to win me over. Well, famous last words.

The more the story evolved, the more I GOT Rowdy. As he and Avery become closer, she's able to reach beneath his exterior and uncover who he really is, what's really important to him and why he's alone. Their relationship slowly developed as both got to know each other and those lustful feelings deepened into something more precious.

I ended up being crazy about Rowdy and no one is more surprised about that than me. This is a really good story, the best of the series to date as both characters were wonderfully developed, each having a nobility that worked well together. Very nicely done for a guy I was intrigued about but not really impressed with initially. Oh, and there's a guy named Cannon who was introduced here that I want to know LOTS more about.

Rowdy is a badass bad boy who has lived life by his own rules. He's a natural born protector but also a major womanizer. He's always avoided commitment by indulging a healthy sexual appetite. Now he's got his sights set on Avery, a pretty bar tender in his bar called 'Getting Rowdy'.

Avery thinks he's out of her league and that she'll become just be another notch on his bed post.

Throw in a bit of sex, a stalker, drug dealers, abandoned kid, one weird step-father and Rowdy steps up to do what he does best!

I love, love, love Lori Foster and was ready to jump all over this one. I'm sad to say I was left a little flat. I thought Rowdy's way of chasing away his demons, by having lots of sex, was just a bit...

So too, the way the whole story wrapped up. I'm going with 3 1/2 stars. It was an enjoyable read, just not outstanding. On a positive note, some new characters were introduced - Cannon and Dash - they both sound YummmmmmY! Cannot wait to read their stories.

I don't even know where to begin. OMG.

I was so bitterly disappointed. I was so stark raving mad. I was so, so, so livid with this story that I actually tossed my ereader across the room when I was done (but it survived, thanks!).

I had such high expectations with this book due to all of the amazing reviews it was getting, even prior to it being released earlier this week.

So, I buckled down and read it. And got pissed. And read some more. And got started fidgeting in my seat, clenching my fist. And read some more. Started internally cursing at the book. And read some more. Totally flipped out.

 photo tumblr_inline_mrymroOvd01qz4rgp.gif

My issues with the story? The two main characters - Avery and Rowdy.

Avery had jello for a backbone, no self respect and infuriated me beyond words. She allowed herself to be treated like an option, totally accepted all bullshit that was being thrown her way and made it seem like it was all okay. Guilted to submission by her own screwed up mind.

 photo tumblr_inline_mjfgwc7Q2w1qz4rgp.gif

Rowdy was a total douche. If I were in Avery's shoes, he would turned me off from the very beginning of this book. But no. This only made her want him more.

The plot to this story was undesirable, comical (not in a funny way either) and left me with a major headache.

Maybe I'm over exaggerating, maybe I'm coming off bitter....

This book is out tomorrow, but just seeing Lori's Facebook, had to share....the release of this great (read awesome) book is trumped by the birth of her latest grandchild! Congratulations Lori and family!

Well my friends, Lori Foster is back big time with Getting Rowdy! I loved this book and it was far and away the best book in this Love Undercover series. I knew I was going to love Rowdy, but the surprise came when I really liked, then loved, then cheered for Avery. In the past two books, I have struggled to like the heroines: Pepper, the odd neighbor to Logan and Rowdy’s little sister; Alice the pervy next door neighbor to Reese and the former sex slave/secretary freed by Trace.

This story was so much more natural and had such a great flow that the relationship between Avery and Rowdy became so easy and beautiful. They worked as a team building the bar, “Getting Rowdy”, and then worked again together to remove the barriers that stood between them and their happy ever after. Along the way, there were sweet side characters like Marcus, the nine year old version of Rowdy, who Rowdy frees from his abusive dad; Cannon, the part time neighborhood watchman, fill in bartender and semi-pro fighter; and Ella, the slightly used, trampy barmaid that has Avery’s back.

The side stories were funny, but served to move the bigger plot and demonstrate Rowdy’s devotion to his family and friends, but most especially to ingratiate himself into Avery’s heart. I loved, loved, loved when Avery would “say it” when Rowdy demanded it. Broke my heart.

If you love broken, alpha heroes who save bright, witty heroines, pick this one up in September and start Getting Rowdy with Avery. Enjoy!

Lori Foster is the Queen of Romantic Thrillers; she has everything:

An understanding male lead.
A super hot but honestly insecure female lead.
A funny as heck in your face sibling.
Friends who are kept at bay at first but then promoted to the majors.
A sweet side story that breaks your heart, but also gets you to love former characters more.
Two hot new guys who you’re dying to know more about.
What more could a girl want in a book?

I have to say that this book was just so amazing; it made me remember why I loved Lori Foster guys so much. She writes really good third person heroes and heroines. I think that is such a unique trait in a writer, and it’s one I really appreciate.

So here it is: Rowdy Yates is a recent bar owner, and its the first time in over 10 years he’s finally settled down in a place. Here’s the thing–he has a problem with womanizing, and he has his eyes set on the fun and flowery bartender, Avery Mullins. The thing is, Avery is always turning him down, and then something really uncomfortable happens one day, and they realize that the attraction might be more than they first thought. I have to say I really liked the pace at which the relationship between these two developed. It feels organic and fun, and I like the way they would relate to each other.

Lori Foster is great at mixing up stories in a series. And so there were lots of cameos if they can be called that. My fave? The first time Pepper (Rowdy’s sister from the first book) meets Avery at his apartment for the first time:

“So.”As if she expected her to sprout horns at any second, Pepper kept a sharp eye on Avery. “He kept you?”
Logan rolled his eyes. “She’s not a stray dog, Pepper I told you she works for him.”
“She works here, in Rowdy’s new apartment, in Rowdy’s shirt? Overnight?”

Overprotective much Pepper? But I have to say I really enjoyed the relationship between the siblings especially once we learned about their pasts. Another essential character was Marcus. I don’t want to say too much, I liked this particular addition to the story because it really showed us a whole other side to Rowdy, and its one I don’t think outside the circumstances that were presented in the book could’ve been seen.

I think the entire storyline is captivating, and fun, and thrilling. I think that its a great addition to the series, and I can’t wait to read more.

“How did I get so lucky?”
“You hired the right bartender to run Getting Rowdy. That’s how."

Reviewed for: Where the Night Kind Roam

Getting Rowdy by Lori Foster was an enjoyable ride of a book, I enjoyed it more than I expected too. I knew I liked Avery going into this book, she is a feisty character who wouldn’t let Rowdy treat her for less than she is worth. It was Rowdy I was concerned about, going into this book I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. Sure he is a manwhore, I don’t have any problems with that, I enjoy a reformed manwhore story, I think it was more of as soon as Avery would let him down he’s go fishing in the same pond. Dude, Really?! You’re interested in a chick, like really interested but then go hit on chicks right in front of her. Eh, not cute. So I think that was my problem with Rowdy. In this book, while he starts off as still a manwhore we kind of get more reasoning behind it and while it is still not cute, he starts to prove that he is more than his man parts. I love how loyal he is to his sister and his friends. He might reluctantly be friends with cops but he will go out of his way to help any of them if they had need. He also shows he’s a freak’n bleeding heart where it comes to abused children, it’s quite touching actually. Rowdy ends up redeeming himself, at least to me. Avery, I liked coming into the book, as mentioned I wasn’t worried about her. She is feisty, take no shit kind of girl, but she wasn’t always that way. What surprised me is that Avery has a history of her own and not all of a good one. She comes from an affluent background but something happened that made her turn her back on all of money and society, she struck out on her own looking over her shoulder. When trouble comes, and it always comes, she is fiercely protective of Rowdy and cares for him as no one else has ever done. She rocks Rowdy to the core. She doesn’t do anything he expects her to do, leaving him off balance. Watching these two push and pull is highly entertaining.

The story is fast paced and pretty much has some sort of action throughout. Rowdy can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble. There are shoot outs, bar fights and other such things to keep you thoroughly entertained throughout the book. All the usual suspects also return, so you can catch up with some of the previous characters. I don’t think you will be disappointed with this installment of the Love Undercover Series, I know I wasn’t!

When we first met Rowdy he seemed like a really good guy as he shielded and risked his life for his sister, but then later on in the series it just gave the impression that he was a bit of a player who had a constant stream of women. I wasn’t really sure if I was going to like Rowdy….No, let me be honest here and say that I had actually started to dislike him due to his inability to keep his dick in his pants! I did even think about not reading this as I didn’t want to spoil the series, but it was written by Lori and on the whole her books generally tick all/most of the right boxes for me so thought I would go ahead and trust her!

As I read the first chapter I was beginning to think that I had made a mistake as it seemed to confirm my thoughts about Rowdy. I was really struggling with the fact that he was getting it on with other women whilst still chasing Avery. Ok so there is no cheating going on as she kept refusing him, so in reality he could do what he liked but it came across (to me anyway) as being a bit seedy/tacky especially as he wasn’t even hiding the fact that he was banging other women right under her nose! It did take a little bit of time for me to warm to him but my view of him started to change when we saw him with Marcus and how he wanted to help him. This reminded me of how he is with his sister and all the warmth started flowing back, and then we find out about a third of the way through that Rowdy uses sex as a distraction to help him forget and live with his demons and I am a bit of a sucker for a sob story and a man who is good with kids and animals!

I have to give full marks to Lori because she did manage to turn me around as I ended up loving Rowdy and his story, and I am really glad that I did trust her and go ahead and read it….. It was good to catch up with Reese & Alice and Logan & Pepper and now am looking forward to reading Dash’s story which is due to be released 25th March 2014.

I didn't even know this series existed until I saw Getting Rowdy on NetGalley. It's the 3rd book in a spin off series from "Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor," which I enjoyed. I caught up with Books 1 and 2 which all were kind of leading up to this one, IMO. We meet Rowdy and Avery in Run the Risk and patiently wait through two books until they get their HEA.

Rowdy is an alpha charmer and I loved his character. His exploits with the ladies seem a bit over the top, but he's got demons and what better way to chase them away than with a little nookie? Avery is tough, but not in a tough girl way, in more of an independent, good natured, ball busting kind of way. The two have been avoiding the inevitable and the sexual tension is strong.

Avery's backstory for me was underwhelming. I could understand why she left home and wanted to go out on her own, but was working in a dive bar and living in a slum really the best she could do? Didn't she go to college? Did she have any skills or career goals she could have pursued? The mystery surrounding her and its subsequent conclusion were fairly ridiculous. But it made for good reading.

There were definite moments of freshness in the storytelling that I appreciated, and while the relationship barrier between the hero and heroine didn't have teeth, it also wasn't drawn out for too long. Overall this was immensely enjoyable, and another solid entry into Foster's Honorable Alphahole oeuvre. Looking forward to Dash's and Cannon's stories.

I think I want Rowdy to be my BBF.

After first meeting Rowdy in Run the Risk (Love Undercover, #1) by Lori Foster & Bare It All (Love Undercover, #2; Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #5) by Lori Foster I could not wait for his story and I was not disappointed. Avery was just perfect for him and I liked how they were together. The suspense part of this one was mostly surprising, I thought I had it figured out...changed my mind and was then surprised. It was also good to see how Reese & Alice were doing, I loved that they took Marcus in. We are also introduced to a new character, Cannon Colter and I wonder if there is a story in his future.

I really like this series and can't wait for Dash's/Lieutenant Peterson's book, it should be very interesting to see those two get together.

Ooohh, I wanna get Rowdy. A former bad boy who took such good care of his sister. Avery had her work cut out for her. She showed slow and steady wins the race or the man. I can't decided if I want the next book to be Dash's or Cannon's.

ps I just finished the first two books in this series and love Rowdy even more.

Well I vaguely remember reading this when I was reading a lot of Lori Foster's books.
This book, well I actually remember the BJ scene and it was icky to the point of sleazy.
So knocking it down to 2 stars because if it was romantic, I would remember the ending as well.

I am really falling in Lori Foster books. Out of the three books I have read this far, they have all been winners. I love the stories, the characters, the romance, and the plot twists that keep me on the edge of my seat.

This book featuring Rowdy was freaking fantastic. I loved it, which is saying something because I was kind of iffy about it especially with the opening scene. But I got over it because technically they weren't together yet, though still wasn't thrilled about seeing him with someone else. As the story got going though it was quickly forgotten and my focus became the romance between Rowdy and Avery.

I was so excited to read their story after seeing glimpses of them from other books I had read by Lori Foster. In those books, they were very much a couple and very much in loving running the bar. So it was interesting to go back and read how they came together and fell in love. Now I gather that they also made appearances in the two books previous in the series, which I have yet to read so I missed some moments they already had like their first kiss. It didn't take away from the book but I am curious about those kisses. They seemed they were very passionate. So I did have an understanding going in of them as a couple, but not their story until I read this one.

What I felt was really, really good was the pacing in the story. Even though it took awhile in the book until they finally gave into their passions and did what they were dying to do for so long, it didn't feel like it was dragged out or overly long. It just kept building and building with little temps and teasing here and there to not only increase my anticipation, but Avery and Rowdy's as well. It was awesome, and totally worth the wait. Plus it also really established their relationship by having a good foundation that was built on throughout the entire. It felt very real and believable despite the fact that book took place over a short period of time, but I could feel them fall in love.

I also really liked that they had history to them. They weren't just a couple that met, was attracted to each other, and then fell into bed. Even though they were really attracted to one another from the time they met, they built a relationship beforehand. It was a friendship that was based on caring with lust simmering beneath the surface. That strengthened their relationship that grew over time. It didn't hurt that it upped the perfect amount of angst between the two of them. I loved the angst.

I also really loved the suspenseful and dangerous storyline that was presented here that was away from the romance without taking away from it. It added excitement and kept me on the edge of my seat. Really it just gave it an edge that made it really interesting. I noticed from the books I have read this far from Lori Foster that was present in her other books as well. It was what made these stories different from what I usually read. Usually I am not a huge fan of side plots especially when they overtake the romance in the story then it is less believable love story. But again what Lori Foster did, it was a nice balance between suspense, other characters, drama, danger, mystery, and romance with the romance and relationship being front in center while the other elements pushed the couple through the wringer and the plot to make really entertaining and glued my eyeballs to the page. Loved blend of it all. This is how longer romances should be. Loved all the plot points here.

The chemistry between Rowdy and Avery was explosive. Like off the charts explosive. After that first scene, and they appeared on the page together there was friction between them partly because of him being with another woman and her being jealous of the fact despite the fact she turned him down multiple times, but also from that build up of sexual chemistry that had yet to be satisfied. Through the whole book, they had heat between them and that didn't go away. It was so steamy. So scorching. So everything that it blew my mind. It wasn't just the love scenes that were hot, it was them kissing and touching and them just being together. It was so freaking good. And the love scenes were just oh wow. I couldn't even describe in this review how good they were and do them justice. They were just so hot but very meaningful as they got closer not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well. Yummy.

I also was glad that Avery made him work for it and stuck to her gums before giving into him. Because in the beginning he made it seem like to her that he just needed a willing female body and would take anything, which didn't make her warm and fuzzy. And I didn't blame her. He had to show her that she was special and it wasn't just about his lust and that was it. And he prove that he wanted her and not just a body in his bed. He showed he cared, which made it more satisfying when they finally gave in to it. It made it hotter too. So I was glad that what they had wasn't easy and they had to work for it. It made it more meaningful as well as make their relationship grow and mature over the coarse of book. They worked through issues trust as well as their overcoming their personal hells. It was just really well done I thought.

Loved both characters. They felt ver well rounded and very real to me. I rooted for them. I liked seeing the different sides to them. I loved their strengths and vulnerabilities on display. I loved how them being together made them better people. They were meant to be. They were something special. They just worked. I could go on and on about my love for them especially Rowdy, but then this review would go on forever.

This book I can see myself reading again and becoming favorite just like the other Lori Foster books I have read. There wasn't much to this book that I didn't love. It was awesome. It was interesting. It had a tender, caring romance full of intensity with lots of passion and heat between Rowdy and Avery. I enjoyed the dangerous side plot as well that brought together and increased their closeness and not taking away from the romance. I was on the edge of my seat at times and couldn't put the book down. I absolutely loved it.

I highly recommend this book for romance lovers out there. I can't wait to read more books by Lori Foster in the future especially the ones in this series.
