I guess I'll be the bad guy here. I really didn't want to do this but there is no way on earth am I not giving fair warning about this catastrophe I just read. I'm giving fair warning that there will definitely be spoilers here. I'll try to keep them down as much as possible (when in reality I don't know how that's even possible).
~~SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS - DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO SPOILERS~~
Besides the grammar. The lack of a connection to the H & h. The unrealistic plots. The all over the place story line. The insta-love (which I can tolerate if made realistic) and the poor sex scenes. WHAT DID I READ? I honestly don't even know where to start.
It starts with the h getting a job in which she's trained by the H. She has a boyfriend and he has a booty call. She's there weeks and ends up getting a killer promotion that we could only DREAM about. During the same time, she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her with his assistant and then proceeds to abuse her and almost rape her. So she texts the H (who's kind of her boss but she doesn't know yet) and tells him about it. Of course he comes to the rescue and whisks her off to his penthouse apartment and gives her the week off. Then he tells her to move in with him and then buys her a $152,000.00 BMW just because she needs a vehicle. Ummmmmm.....WHAT? Anyways. Oh and during this time, his booty call ex is starting to harass and stalk because of course that HAS to be put into the book. At this point the h is in love with the H, even though she treats him like crap with her insane jealousy (which is throughout the WHOLE DAMN BOOK) even though he's never given her a reason to be. They have unprotected sex the first time they do it and even though both of them had ex's (not even days ago) none of them even ask if the other is clean or on the pill. WAIT.....Did I mention this I'm only 15% into the book at this point? Can you see where I'm going with this? If not, please stay tuned because it only gets worse from here.
It's crazy, I'm trying to tell the story but it's just too much damn nonsense so I'm just going to do it like this.
There is siblings getting beaten almost to death. Killing cousin in past traumatic accident. Evil fathers (one not really being the father but the uncle...DON'T ASK). Miscarriages. Wedding. H turning dominate (FSOG anyone). Pyscho ex girlfriend (FSOG style again). Abusive father. Kidnapping on wedding day into being a sex slave (the h). Missing for a year. Memory loss. Being found. Getting beaten almost to death. Killing father. Killing father/Uncle (no this is not a typo). Long hospital stay. Coming out to go right back in for accidental almost suicide (again, DON'T ASK). Psych ward. Finding out your cousin you killed is actually your twin sister. Firing ex stalker. Finding out your ex is actually FBI and wasn't really cheating. And then living happily ever after. Not even an emotional trauma throughout all that.
I am in SHOCK that this book got such high ratings. I guess my mind isn't up to par with everyone else and if that's the case, Hallelujah. Believe me when I say I left out a LOT of other things but at this point, does it matter?
If you're into this kind of drama and want to know the story in more detail, then please, enjoy. You'll love it. But if you're from the third rock from the sun, I say DO NOT DO IT. I'm still in SHOCK that this was all in one book. It felt as if they just throw scenarios into a hat and instead of using one or two decided to throw them all into this book. Not even in order either.
Now that I've done my part in giving more than fair warning about this book, I'm going to take some bleach and wash out my eyes. I wish there was something I can use to erase this book from my brain.
This series was absolutely amazing from start to finish! Full of secrets, deciept, suspense, great sex, and a love that will make your toes curl! I read each book seperately and had to wait in between...the box set makes it easy to just keep reading when your heart about stops in anticipation of what is to come with the next installment...lol. Thankfully, I just got to reread this series in anticipation of book #4 Tristan which will be live in November!!!
This series is not for the weak of heart, or those under 18...it is full of evil men, violence, and spicy sex scenes...not to mention the vulgarity I love...you have been warned ;)
This is an amazing series and i am glad that i found the first book in it in the anthology "Playing with Fire" last year! I have found another amazing author to follow. I am also glad that this is in a box set and i did not have to wait for the sequel..yes i do not have patience but would have waited for this series. It is fully of sexiness, thrill, "oh no you didn'ts" and more!
No ,No im at 9% and i cannot finish this book....I feel the characters and the situation is way to cheesy and unbelievable. Its one eye roll after another for me. And i hate when one of the character thinks something and then the other says it.
Get your box of tissues because by the time you get to the end of this box set your going to need them! This box set is breathtaking and amazing. A must read.
