This is an alternate cover edition for ASIN B00K91VHJI.

Click! is a short but intriguing story of four chapters, written by Scott A. Butler.

Peter Buckley, a fourteen year old student, has a rather ordinary life, if not a boring one. Somewhat a loner, Peter is a regular victim of the school bullies. He is lazy and lacks any form of motivation, his hobby is watching television all day and every day. Having control over the television makes up for Peter's lack of control over his own life and, to him, is the perfect escapism.
At least that USED to be his hobby.

Peter's life changed dramatically overnight when something of great power ended up in his hands. The saying "With great power comes great responsibility" has never been more true for Peter. But does he have the ability to be responsible?

Scott A. Butler is a multi-genre author and pseudonymous writer who proves that a carbon-based lifeform can run almost entirely on tea and quietly brilliant ideas. (Mostly tea, though.)

Scott’s unique journey into storytelling began after losing his hearing as a child. This led to a very active imagination and, let's be honest, a dash of social awkwardness. To avoid having his sanity constantly questioned, he decided to stop sharing his imaginative worlds out loud. Instead, upon discovering an old typewriter at his grandparents' house, he put it all down on paper. He found the simple truth that writing about made-up people is significantly less complicated than trying to talk to real ones.

When he’s not busy constructing alternate universes or being productively awkward, you can usually find Scott engaged in one of his other serious pursuits: being a servant to various household animals, filling his brain with an alarming quantity of useless Doctor Who facts, perfecting the art of tea and cake consumption, or quietly pretending not to be jealous of other authors' success.

I picked this up on a whim, really. I think it was a recommendation from someone on Goodreads and it was free on Amazon for the weekend, so I thought, 'Why not?'

Click! is a short story about Peter, who is spends a lot of time watching television and even more time being harassed by the bullies at his school, until one day he finds something that might let him get the upper hand for once.

I really enjoyed this story. It was quite short - it only took me about half an hour to read - but the writing flowed nicely and the author managed to pack quite a lot in and it read like one of those old R L Stine Goosebumps stories, even down to the unnerving ending.

I think this story has the potential to be expanded on in the future and possibly made into a short novel with further background and development of the characters and plot. I'd be interested to read it if that happens!

This is one of the first books I downloaded onto my new Kindle. I got it while it was on a limited time free promotion, but if I knew it was as good as this book is, I would have definitely bought a paid copy.

Click! is a brilliant book by clearly a brilliant author. The story was a smooth pleasure to read and has a very unexpected twist at the end. The main character, Peter, finds something that gives him control over his life and the bullies at school, with consequences. There are morals in this book that reach out to everyone.

I thoroughly recommend that this book is added to your list. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely, proudly, read more from this author.

I like how this story is written. Diary form for short story is the best form. Bullying and world control in one short story, that is something new in my book shelf.
Peter, bully wictom, gets cool gift from his father and there whole story starts. He, as most of bullied kids, has some crazy plans, how to revenge his enemies. Second part of this story is his revenge for his bullies, but it has very strange end. I really thought it will end different, but actual ending is more interesting and clifhanging...

This is a short story by a young writer who shows promise. It's an imaginative tale and has a dark twist at the end. I enjoyed reading it though I think it's probably best suited to a Young Adult readership.
A little care with punctuation, particularly in and around quotations, will lift this to a more professional standard. I hope the author continues to write. I wonder what else he has in his head!

Click! is the first short story in the Spinetingle Diaries.

Peter Buckley stumbles upon something that allows him to control the bullies in his life. The story, and in particular the unexpected ending, does a good job of reminding you to be careful what you wish for!

The writing flows really well and I think the author is one to watch out for in the future. :)

This was a really good, short read that drew the reader into the story. What you expect to be a fun little revenge story becomes something far more sinister. As I read, I felt like it would make a really good short for TV. Well worth the read!
