Lysithea Hilenaire Del Arman is a woman on the run. After a dangerous revolt claimed the lives of her family, Lysithea employs the broker, Taron Cardis, to help her escape the kingdom before she meets the same deadly fate. But Taron isn’t exactly the easiest man to work with, and the two spend most of their transactional relationship with plenty of bickering and arguing. That is, until an unexpected snowstorm leaves them stranded in an eerie, abandoned mansion. Now, Lysithea and Taron must put their differences aside to survive the cold and continue their escape.

Why was the mc so….stupid 💀 like girl PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER. LEARN TO STAND UP FOR YOURSELF. You’re literally on the run after your family was assassinated, and this was SO INTERESTING but instead the whole plot is you chasing after a guy that only wants you for sex and rejects everything emotional. This is so….eughhhh

As I continue on with my steamship journey I picked this up because I found the cover to be breathtakingly beautiful and to no surprise this is filled with gorgeous art. Just the female and male lead alone are beautifully drawn. As for the story well it’s filled with cliches. Does that mean it’s bad? No. It just means it’s easily predictable. I think it’s fairly obvious that the male lead is more than he is saying but I will be continuing with on with this series. I’d recommend if you like beautiful art and romance.

Obsessed with the cover and I love a fellow redhead.... but why was she lowkey so stupid. Like girl, you are on the run. There are people trying to kill you. Please, at least for my sake, be a little more careful and stand up for yourself.

But also, I am lowkey into romance that is objectively pretty bad.

I didn't realize what this was when I picked it up. That's on me. I thought it was a beautifully illustrated romance webcomic. It's actually very explicit and starts off with page 1 rape/noncon between the leads. I wish there was a review stating the contents before I picked it up so I could have made an informed decision, and now there is.

Puh jaaa… also, ich weiß auch nicht so genau.. einerseits ist die Grundthematik ganz interessant, das Artwork sehr detailliert und schön anzugucken, aber der Verlauf und die Charaktere sind (bisher noch) nicht so gut gelungen. Bisher fühle ich wenig Verbindung oder Tiefe bei ihnen - sie sind noch recht unnahbar, man weiß nicht nicht viel über sie und mir wirkt alles etwas zu schnell - das Zeitgefühl ist für mich nicht so greifbar und es fühlt sich mehr nach wollen an, als nach gut können. Versteht ihr, was ich meine? 😬 Es wirkt auch manches etwas widersprüchlich und daher etwas wenig glaubwürdig an einigen Stellen.. Man trifft hier jedenfalls auf Fantasy & Romance mit Smut-Anteilen. Aber sie wirken etwas random - zumindest kam für mich kein richtiges Feeling dabei auf. Sehr schwierig zu beschreiben 🫣 die Story wird in 3 Bänden beendet.. bin jedenfalls neugierig, wie es sich entwickelt und ob es noch eine andere Wendung gibt maybe, dass der Plot und die Charaktere mehr Tiefgang bekommen und so.

,,Winter Wolf 1” , geschrieben von cheong yong und gezeichnet von soonmu. Im Original ist die Reihe in drei Bänden abgeschlossen.Wie es im Deutschen wird weiß ich nicht.

Es fängt gleich mit einer Spicy Szene an ,holla die Schneefee da komm ich ins schwitzen,kein wunder das da ab 18+ steht.Aber was ich nicht verstehe warum man den lümmel nicht richtig zeigt ,er sieht aus wie ein leuchtstab statt normal. Ich will mehr reale Stäbe.

Jetzt zur Story : Es fängt geheimnisvoll an eine Frau, die zu einem großen Schloss läuft, ein Mann, der sich um sie kümmern soll. Sie hat Angst um ihr Leben ,da sie adelig ist und die normalen Bürger hinter ihr her sind.

Erinnert mich an Anastasia irgendwie. Noch ist hier nichts mit Fantasy,stattdessen mit Grusel.

Mir gefällt der Auftakt! Bin gespannt wie es weiter geht. Der Zeichenstil gefällt mir auch sehr.

The art is beautiful, but the story wasn't what I was expecting. Lysithea starts out as a strong character, escaping from her family's murder and her own attempted assault, and managing to broker a way to her own freedom. When she meets Taron, that all seems to fall apart. Suddenly, she's panicking over everything, barely able to hold it together, gets sick, and makes several questionable decisions. Taron himself comes across as rather cold and uncaring, yet he does save Lysithea and cares for her when she's ill. From his tone, it's all about the money of the deal, but his actions have a way of saying something else occasionally. Clearly, they end up together, though it's yet to be seen if this will be a lasting relationship or just another fantasy.

2.5/5 - I was promised a better plot ;__;
At least I like the art, the smut is hot and I'm intrigued to find out what's up with the male main character (I still don't like him, though). But other than that... the story and characters are dull. Both main characters are unlikable because they are so bland and behave exactly as you'd expect from characters of all the average romance/smut comics that have barely any distinguished characteristics. Everything feels very trope-y and the plot is just a token to force them into proximity, so they can bang. The dialogues are fine and separately looked at not cringe but in context with the plot and the main characters' rushed relationship it makes the dialogues absurd.

Winter Wolf starts like how many Manhwa's do, with the shock value of a scene that happens later to draw you in and intrigue you.

Then the opening plot comes, and it keeps you because you're curious how the characters came to be in this situation.

But then this one loses its goal by throwing any prior information you were going to learn, of characters dead or alive, emotions the FMC had to people in her past, or the cause for her run away activities, out into the snow and forces a quick love romance that leaves you a bit baffled.

I'll keep reading because the series is done and I want to know how it ends, but other than the art being nice, it's not that strong of a story at all.

The beginning of this book is interesting. I love the illustrations and thought it was very well done. This book is outside of my comfort zone and I usually don’t read stories like this so I tried to go in with an open mind.

I might be in the minority here but I didn’t like the FMC. It’s been a while since I’ve read this book so I can’t give specifics but I remember that I really didn’t like her and found her to be annoying which is what led me to DNFing the comic. Maybe she has some character development later on in the story but I just didn’t resonate with her enough to try and see for myself.

Nah, this made me angry. Tell me how these two barley new each other. This women opens up to this man about her PTSD nightmares about being almost SA’d and his response to overwrite that is by her letting him sleep with her. Even if he started off by saying “stop me if you don’t want this”, she didn’t even look like she enjoyed it or wanted any of it and was uncomfortable. He didn’t even seem kind the whole beginning before this. Didn’t see any type of connection. Just nah. I promise went in open minded. And this legit pissed me off.

Ein interessanter und smexy Auftakt. Auch wenn Story-technisch nicht allzu viel passiert ist, konnte man Lysithea und ihre Vergangenheit ein wenig kennenlernen. Auch Taron, der bestimmt irgendetwas verbirgt, da er zwar nett, zugleich manchmal auch etwas aufdringlich scheint, ist spannend. Ich glaube, ich werde die Reihe weiterverfolgen, da ich neugierig bin - vor allem, was das fantastische Element sein wird (auch wenn ich schon meine Ideen habe). Auf jeden Fall durch die expliziten Szenen ab 18, aber hat Spaß gemacht.

I have finished this series on the Manta app which seems to be ahead of the publication of the English graphic novels. There were parts of this series that were really good and had me hooked, and parts that fell just a little flat for me. The main story (first half) was quite short and almost resolved itself a little too soon. I'm not sure if the novel goes a little deeper or not. But the twist and the drama was quite good. The second half kind of lacked a plot. It felt like just a feel-good follow up to try to make the books more satisfying as the main storyline felt like it ended kind of abruptly. The first half and the second half had a completely different feel to them.

Almost done but I have to say these characters seem to lose sight of the plot every other page. We’ll get a little into it and maybe I’ve begun to care and then it’s all ‘let me calm you down with sex.’ Maybe the personalities are lost in translation? More like a 3.5 out of 5 for me. I understand that Lysithea is scared and nervous, but she really shouldn't act so uptight around Taron in my opinion. I mean he is helping her after all. Not to mention, he saved her life twice. (Once with the wolf, the second from bandits). So I'm not sure what is going through her head. But the steamy scenes were extra steamy wow.

So I was drawn in by the art and even though I called the "plot twist" right away, because I wanted to know was I right- I kept reading. And yes, yes I was right. But I allowed myself to follow at the writer's pace and just enjoyed the ride. Romantasy thriller, cute and would read again.
